To Screen protect, or to go naked.... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

Just upgraded my Note 4 to a Note 8... No more security updates for that Note 4 and I gotta have those security patches in my industry... Too bad. Note 4 still works great...
I never really used a screen protector on my Note 4... But those exposed curved glass edges on the Note 8 get me worried. I'm getting the Alcantara case, but should I screen protect?

I haven't put one on mine yet. I use the Spigen Tough Armor case and I just haven't found a good screen protector yet that works well with the edges. Let me know if you find a good one.

I use uag case. Definitely worry about the edges

Dropped my note 8 face down on gravel and shattered display. Glass alone cannot be replaced. The oled and glass come as 1 unit and are only 259 to have installed at a samsung certified repair shop. Way cheaper than paying phone insurance unless you drop it the first month my phone is like new again.

Where can I find a screen protector that actually fits!

I tried several sources on eBay and either they are too small or too big. Does anyone know a screen protector that actually fits on the Samsung Galaxy S2 i727 LTE from Rogers!?!?!?
I have a screen protector that you cut out yourself. It works really well. Don't know the brand though, it came with my phone. Look it up.

I agree with plwalsh88. I have called Gorilla directly and the sent me an email telling me that they regret to inform me, but the i727 does not have Gorilla glass.
I usually just brick my phone and get a new one when I scratch the screen or something... But then again, I have the benefit of 8 spare phones.

This is the best one I have ever had on any device. It is nearly as smooth as using your finger on the glass itself, it does not grip your strokes, nor have an orange peel effect, like Zagg and other variants do.

They have different versions, Ultra Oleophobic is the clearest and most natural, it does tend to attract finger prints.
If there was a Ghost Armor store around here I would go with that solely based on the guy who posted about it here in the early SR days.

I hate skinomi bought one for my one x and applied on to the screen, the water stayed inbetween the skin and screen, it also had dirt caught on to it, do any of you know how to get rid of dirt from a screen protector.

It's how you apply it. It has to be a dust free place. Never experienced having a speck of dust on between with different brands of skins on a screen and I also make sure to squeegee out the liquid thoroughly
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Honestly I don't see much difference between these, BSE, Invisibleshield etc. But I usually go with Ghost Armor because they have a stand at mall near me that does the installation and replacement themselves.
They all work fine, but I hate when they are not applied correctly, it makes them pretty redundant.

Screen protector with Diztronic case - Nexus 4

Do not know it has been asked before or not...
I am using XG screen protector on Nexus 4 with Diztronic case, to be honest it feels rubbery and struggling on the edges. Sometimes it does come off because of the case. Now hunting for new screen protection. Happy with case though.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah you need either a case fit wet application or a dry application.
I recommend SGP ultra olephobic. Using that with my diztroniz and it works great

Damn! Thanks for the reply. I'll look at other case / screen guard combinations then.
Just checked out Acase Superleggera Pro Case, and that seems just as good as the Diztronic. Will this peel off the screen guard too?
To answer the question: I have the Gadgetshieldz optimized screen protector. They peel a little bit with my Diztronic and Acase. The Rinke fusion doesn't have this problem.

I've been using XtremeGuard screen protector with my diztronic tpu since I got my nexus 4.. its fine for the most part. Check the ditronic case thread and the xtremeguard protector thread for other peoples experiences. As long as you get the edges of the screen protector under the edges of the case it actually holds the protector on pretty well. I think i put mine on slightly low so sometimes ( once every few weeks ) one of the corners starts peeling a little from moving around.. I just lift it up and push it back under with my fingernail.. or you can take it out and put it back in.. also gives an opportunity to clean the dust out from the case..

Don't have picture I broke the screen protector!! I shut my car door on my phone the screen cover broke but my phone was perfect!! Few questions for some owners..
1) The site doesn't advertise being oleophobic, but do fingerprints show up pretty badly?
2) Has anyone tried this case with a slim case such as the Rinke or Nillkin? It wraps around the edges pretty tightly and am wondering if the Maru glass extends that far.
Mine should be at my office waiting for me on Monday. I'll post pics if it works on my bumper lol.

From this users experience it doesn't seem to be anti fingerprint http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus4/comments/1e2fzi/maru_labs_tempered_glass_screen_protector/ca2qhpr
I received mine today.
It does leave fingerprints.
Sensitivity does go down a little.
Cases I've tried on: (I've put this on for only a couple of seconds to see if it would fit or not. I don't know if it would cause an issue for extended use)
Ringke fusion - seems to fit, looks good.
Poetic atmosphere - seems to fit, looks good.
Nillkin leather flip - fit good.
Poetic borderline - It does not fit. I can't put it on with the protector on.
Poetic slimbook - fit good.
Oh god, does it just come a cheap little padded envelope? I'm worried about the condition of my protector now too.

MIME Ghost Glass

Just thought i would let everyone know that right now, you can get the MIME Ghost Glass screen protector for 24.99 shipped. There is a code at the top of their site that gives free shipping in the US. Also, they apparently already have them stocked as i ordered it today and already recieved an email saying it has shipped.
I have had great luck with them in the past, they have curved edges which helps them blend into the bezel seamlessly and like most glass protectors they are simple to install.
Ill give my actual impressions once the phone itself is in hand.
I ordered mine last week. Will be here tomorrow. I'll post some pics and then have a full review up when my phone arrives.

Like I've had one on my iPhone 5S (yeah I know, iPhone, don't mention it) for months now and none of my friends who use my phone even know it's there.

I ordered the Spigen Nano Sling Glas.tR a few days back...
How does MIME compare?
Ghost glass like a transparent?
The feather glass is excellent. The s5 has a lip around the permiter of the screen and the home button is raised. Because the feather is so thin it makes it seem as of the lip never existed and the home button sits totally flush with the screen now also. Someone had voiced concern about the feather glass chipping on the edges to easily. Well I do not see this being an issue on the s5 thanks to the raised lip. Truly could not work more flawlessly. The ghost glass is still an excellent choice. But I think you will get better bang for your buck out of the feather.

it's super thin, BUT still thick enough that the home button is now flush with the surface of the screen - it's no longer raised. you have to press it in more directly now.
not fatal, but odd.

The feather is the same in the way the home button is now flush (so much nice than raised) and the "metal edge" around the phone sits flush as well. Maybe they actually sent you a feather?

Does anyone know if the Feather version could possible fit in the otterbox defender case after removing the otterbox built in screen protector of course? I've been doing this for the last few defender cases I've used but normally put a ZAGG hd on the phone for protection. I usually do this because the screen protector on the otterbox usually scratches and tends to lose some clarity over time and that is a great annoyance to me. What's the point in having that beautiful HD screen and can't see it clearly due to the screen protector not being clear or at least as clear as it should be.
