I keep getting an error when trying to run this. it locks up when trying to access the bootloader. any suggestions. im using win7 right now

This is the OTA update that was released by Sprint. With this we can extract the changes and put it into our existing rom or make a rooted rom from this.

It's the full RUU, with the OTA. But I think you knew/meant that.

If you're stuck on the HTC screen and the program shows a USB error, just run the .EXE again and it will start updating.

Yes, don't run this if you don't want to lose everything. Wait for a zip recovery flash that doesn't wipe DATA. Some might... so you want to be be sure you nandroid first in case the dev doesn't mention wiping occurs.

Basically just wait till somebody makes all the necessary changes to keep root and releases it as a signed zip even with unrevoked for some reason I feel unrevoked won't work with a custom recovery once the nand gets unlocked because it reroots it everytime you reboot your phone instead of truly being sticky

I apologize for my stupidness but as I've never owned an HTC device I'm not 100% sure I understand how this file works. So, do you need to put it into download mode and then run the exe or just enable debugging and then run it?

Definitely thanks. This would presumably break root if we had it.

You'll need to use HTC sync to RUU the phone, sort of like ODIN, except with HTC's software

Its basically your phones stock factory reset if you mess anything up being adventurous and trying to find a perm root. You plug your phone into your computer and run it from your desktop

or i can make a cleaned-up (senseless + bloat removed) stock rom with all the proprietary files needed.

I assume you mean restoring factory defaults which will wipe user data but it will not restore OS and kernel data whereas this will.

yeah, I think so. You can do a reset through the phone menus or through bootloader. That was the only 2 ways I knew. Will try this as my phone is a little sluggish after I did Zroot and deleted it and did a factory reset.

Guy you don't need to do factory resets to clear up sluggishness its quite simple reboot the phone remove superuser and reroot and its just as fast as the day u first got it

The only reason to restore stock RUU would be if you borked your phone or were perm rooted and wanted to return the phone to the store.

I received this error with my Heroc.
The way I fixed it was to have the phone at the bootloader when running the RUU. Not sure if that will work with this phone or not but worth a shot..
Restart the phone into bootloader - Power off and Power on while holding vol. down, or type adb reboot bootloader in your CMD prompt.
Once there make sure your phone is plugged in and says Fastboot USB at the top then try running the RUU again.
Let us know if it works.

CM11 M10 on SM-G900P (KLTE)??

Has anyone successfully flashed the new Cyanogenmod Update on the GS5 from Virgin Mobile? I have been unable to get it to work. The updater script wont let me flash, and even when I delete the first section, the installation is still aborted. Any suggestions?

I don't get an error. It just says "Installation Aborted"

All I did to it was delete the first couple of lines off the updater_script to where the first word was "mount".

The zip you sent has another folder called Rom in the root I'll fix it and send it back to you, next time when you make the zip don't zip the folder, zip the system, meta whatever, and data inside of the folder, zip all of those.

Good news and bad news, I was successfully able to flash CM11 on the S5, but now the APN Settings are messed up, and I cant get data or send MMS.

I had the same thing, (YOU SHOULD TRY PAC ROM IN THE ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT PAGE, MORE FEATURES cx) mess around with the settings, try flashing a modem, take your sim card out and back in, airplane mode and back, odin flash, dunno what else.

Is there a way to just flash cm11? Thats about the extent of my knowledge

It would be great if someone could edit them for the rest of us and post them.

what recovery did you use? I flashed using modified TWRP and data and mms work fine..

Does anybody else have "pay with my Verizon wireless account" as a payment option on play store?? I'm on sprint. It shouldn't say that. It doesn't work but it annoys me being there

Hey everyone. im in a little bit of a pickle right now and could use some help. so thanks for reading.
just bought an M8 from swappa. previous owner was using it on T-Mobile. he had venom rom flashed. i downloaded the newest one of it and flashed that. i have not been able to get Mobile Data. phone calls, and texts work on Global. but im not able to get online unless i use WiFi. i just did RUU to 4.4.4 and I still have the same problem. any help is appreciated.
edit: when i switch preferred networks to LTE, it doesnt come up with anything and says to switch to global.

edit 2: went to the vzw store to try a new sim card, still nothing. it all has to do with the Mobile data setting, but i just dont know what to do.

Set it on global. Under cdma options go in and hit the Verizon one to put a bullet next to it. Reboot to boot loader. Make sure you have stock recovery flashed and perform a factory reset.
Edit...and to verify this IS in fact a Verizon m8 right?

i just did a factory reset, but it still the same.if i click network prefernce i get a list of all GMS/UMTS networks. if i click LTE only it will go to no signal at all then say no network found. switch to global

How to Install:
Using odin:
Download and install the drivers
Download the Zip file
Unzip
Download Odin
Leave Auto reboot and F. Reset Time checked
Absolutely do not check repartition
Click AP/PDA
Navigate to the OF7.tar
Click Start
First boot takes a while so be patient!
This is rare but if for some reason you get a bootloop or stuck on the Sprint screen, then you will need to wipe your internal or do a factory reset. Back up any files that you may want to a computer or drive just incase you lose them.

for some reson the stock .tar wouldnt fully boot, it would get close and then restart, so i did a factory reset in the stock recovery and it finally booted, lost my internal data
id just make sure you get a backup just in case. my s6 has been sketchy every flash since i got this thing lol so its probably a 1 in a million

I figured, thanks Sooop!!! I remember on my HTC M8 I actually used an older modem cause it got better reception than the newer one.
It's all good. Running smooth as butter and wicked fast... Kinda just wanted to see what 5.1.1 brings to the table.

I haven't taken the plunge yet. I was gonna wait for sac but I've been hearing good things for the most part as far as stability and fixes

Same here. I've never had an issue with tripping knox... It's just this would be the first time I'd have to send my phone in if I jumped to 5.1.1. I guess I could just not root, but that's no fun!

I did not know that. I had Verizon before... I was just thinking if I had to send it to Sprint for warranty, insurance replacement, etc.

I've sent plenty Samsung devices back and taken them in the store. I usually atleast try to Odin back to stock. I had a buddy take one in with TWRP installed and got by. Samsung is the only one that you may have trouble with. I can confirm that you're ok with Sprint
