I have a rooted samsung galaxy s5 and am looking for a program (pc or phone app freeware or not) that can deeply scan my phone, I'm looking for texts that I had left on my phone from 2016 but seemed to have somehow vanished. I'm jist looking for a program that someone might recommend that thoroughly scan my phone for (all files would be nice) my text messages as well as recover them.
I have attempted to use the app GT recovery but it only found parts of the misplaced texts that I'm looking to recover.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hi All.
Recently, I downloaded an app called 'Image & Video Hider'. I have hidden videos using this app and decided I no longer wanted it. I use the Samsung Galaxy S4
The app allowed me to unhide most of the media hidden, but not all. I have been researching online for hours and I am not able to find a solution that works for my problem. The developers website is not valid and I emailed them over a week ago and haven't heard anything. I was on the phone with Google today and there isn't much they could do either.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with unhiding media that still exists. I have tried the command method, and its not working (I may be doing something wrong). I even tried the "unhide" files method using the cpu but that isnt working either. I am sure the app is installed on my device memory but I cannot find anything pertaining to it once I complete a search. Please help me!

Can someone help me.. Complete noob here, I just got myself the new GS5 and have made the switch from Apple to Android now, I only have a macbook pro and have no idea how I can root my galaxy s5 with the macbook? Can anyone help?
I am an Australian user.. who has the latest SGS 5, SM-G900I that is locked to Optus (network).
I have the latest macbook pro late 2013 edition with os x mavericks on it.
I've worked out some basics.. like I have Samsung Kies now working on the mac to do file transfer etc..
I have the developers option menu open on my GS device with USB debugging ticked..
But that's as much as I can do.. I don't know how or what program to use on my mac to perform the rooting and or what kind of rooting I need to do??
I'm not to good with terminal? or inputting commands into terminal.. complete noob with that
Can someone here.. please, please help me out and point me in the right direction.. I've looked all over google.. most info I have found though is for the GS4 or older version of android etc.
And like I said earlier.. I am overwhelmed by this forum site as it is huge and I don't know where to begin to look?
I would also like to know.. I've seen screenshots of in videos of where people have 4 + apps in their "app draw" including an internet browser..
Mine has come pre loaded with only 3 main apps in the "app draw".. these are, phone, contacts & messages + the apps button.
How can I edit/ add or remove apps in and out of that bottom app draw area, I am yet to find that option anywhere on this phone??

So here's the deal, I picked up a cheap ZTE Reef n810 phone a few weeks ago, It's a prepaid virgin mobile usa phone. I rooted it, removed a bunch of bloatware-one thing being the activation app...
I have recently gotten a new phone, and would like to pass this one along, however whenever I try to switch my girlfriends account onto this phone the activation fails.
My question is, does anyone else have this phone, and could you possibly get me a copy of a few stock apps? I need the SSA app (Self Service Assistance), and the Sprint initializer app- Those are the two(that I am aware of) that are involved with the activation of the phone...

Do you by any chance have a recovery/rom/cwm recovery? I recently bootlooped my reef and it seems these are my only options to fix it. :crying: :crying:

First of all, I am new here and I apologize*in advanve for any inconvenience.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S7 and I am facing an issue with my phone, recently I got a kind of Smart locker tool or program I am not sure, but the problem is I don't remember that I've installed or allow any kind of this programs in my phone (I tried to put a link to screenshots of the program but since I'm now I can't put a link, please who-else needs the pictures let me know), and even if I deactivate it, it returns automatically and sometimes it blocks my phone.
The following also appears in this program:
"res/layout/fragment_rec_list.xml
res/layout-v14/list_item_review.xml10%"
I can't find it in applications section to uninstall it. This is really bothering and I can't do nothing about it.
Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Hi, not been here for a loong time... Just got an A5 pro (thought I'd ordered cc but nevermind.. )
I want to be able to use it without Google... But having issues with sms and other apps (WhatsApp and email clients) not giving notifications.. Anyone had any bother with this or have a solution to fix it? I followed the guide about using adb to kill the trackers n such from reddit eink sub.... But have since updated it.. Should I run these again? Or is there a way to clean the original apps of trackers?
It seems like the sms functionality just kinda dissapears and I missed some important messages.. I understand people are working on a custom rom / root with g apps... Just hoping I won't have to go that route to get sms constant..

Nudge. .. I can see people have managed to root the std a5... No one able to help? Sorry for not being technical enough to work it out..
