[ROM] [JB 4.2.2][SPEED][BATTERY][STABILITY] PRIME/ATOM-422

PLEASE READ:
This AOSP is not limited to source changes from CM, Vanir, CNA, EOS, Carbon, AOKP etc. you get the best of all of them.* All features included have been reworked to eliminate performance sinks and memory leaks and subtly improved as i see fit also. Finally, this rom is compiled using GLOBAL -O3 -fstrict-aliasing.* I don't just turn it off where there's violations like every other "linaro" ROM source i've seen listed.* This is the real deal.* Latest linaro toolchain snapshot and proper use of the current 4.8 GCC features so it actually means something to say it's compiled with GCC 4.8.
Disclaimer: Because I'm using building using commits from every major repo in existence it may take a while to integrate some of the major features to my standards. I may release a stock AOKP feature as a beta until I have the chance to improve it but I'm not interested in band-aid fixing things or duck taping **** together just to get more crap under the features list and change log. Also, If you have questions or interest in building or joining vanirAOSP please message me on gtalk: [email protected] and feel free to add me on google+
here is a link to the parent thread where you can view previous change logs and perhaps find an answer to a question

KitKat XPOSED

IS NOT MY WORK Y JUST WANT TO SHOW TO YOU THIS HARD STUFF
ALL CREDIT GO TO THEM
READ THIS POST CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING ANY FURTHER
Hey!
After countless hours of coding and searching for proper entry points to inject code to incorporate fixes and mods, here it is:
GravityBox - a complex Xposed module targeted for devices running Android 4.4, which turns vanilla ROM into
feature-packed "non-flashing" custom ROM.
Originally, this module was designed for MTK6589 devices which lack custom ROMs built from source due to MediaTek closed-source policy.
Later on, it was adjusted to support other (non-MTK) devices running vanilla or close-to-vanilla AOSP ROMs.
Introduction
The app utilizes amazing Xposed framework coded by recognized
developer rovo89 which, briefly, provides interface for injecting code into any app, including system services allowing modifications of applications and system services at run-time. One of the biggest advantages of GravityBox is that it is not bound to any specific device. Actually, it should run on any device having vanilla Android 4.4 (ROM close enough to AOSP).
This project wouldn't be possible without rovo's Xposed framework, so huge kudos to him.

Compatibility
Some words about GB's main concept. One thing I didn't like about xposed modules was that it was always necessary to reboot a device after making a change to some option. Since GB's main concept was to turn MTK devices running stock ROM into something that's close enough to a feature-packed custom ROM, I had to take a decision - for it to be as much comfortable as possible and to really behave like a custom ROM, I had to design it to support most of the preference changes to be done on the fly without needing to reboot a device. While this sounds nice, it also brings couple of "drawbacks". For changes to be made on the fly, it is necessary to make some preparations when device starts. This means, even if you don't use the particular feature, the necessary preparation/modification is already there and is waiting for the user to come and change that option.
This means it is not possible to "completely deactivate" particular feature if it causes trouble on your device or if you installed GB because you want to use only one particular feature you can't find elsewhere.
This results in issues on ROMs/devices that have parts that are diverting from default Android implementation too much, or are running heavily modified custom ROMs.
If you experience weird issues after installing GB, even if you didn't activate a particular feature, it is not because of GB is broken, it is because it is not compatible with your ROM. It is very similar as if you installed ROM built from source for Nexus to some Xperia device - it won't work.
Next thing, GB is a complex module and is not suitable for 1 purpose scenario. This means, if you are running custom ROM built from source (CM, PAC, ...), and you are missing a certain feature, your best option is to go ask creators of those ROMs to implement those additional features. Supplementing missing features on well-known custom ROMs built from source by installing xposed modules (especially complex ones) is definitely not a good way to go and can cause more trouble than good.
And finally, the last. GB being a complex module, it shouldn't be combined with other complex modules often racing for the same goal. They can conflict/fight on the same playground and there's no way you can deterministically say which one's going to win.
They can even lose both.
So in summary:
- this module is designed to run on vanilla or close-to-vanilla Android 4.4 (AOSP)
- supports "Google devices" like Nexus, HTC One Google play edition, and others running vanilla Android 4.4
- Samsung Touchwiz, HTC Sense, MIUI, LeWa, etc. are NOT supported. It is not guaranteed this module will work on these at all so try at your own risk. This module is simply too complex to support all kind of ROM brands that were vastly modified by vendors.
- DO NOT USE WITH CUSTOM ROMS LIKE CM,AOSPA,ROOTBOX,AOKP,SLIM, OMNI AND THEIR OTHER CLONES... IT MAKES NO SENSE AND CAN CAUSE CONFLICTS AND UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
- I will not implement any exceptions that will adapt this module to a specific custom ROM. Please, do understand, it is unmanageable.
- I will not provide any support for devices violating these compatibility rules
Prerequisites
To use this module, the following conditions must be met
- You have a device running Android 4.4 that's based on AOSP (vanilla or close-to-vanilla Android)
- ROM must be rooted (XposedInstaller requires root to be able to install framework into system)
- You have working custom recovery allowing you to make a backup before installing Xposed framework
GravityBox KitKat version has been developed and tested on Nexus 5
Installation
1) Backup your current ROM in custom recovery. I am serious. Don't skip this step.
2) Get the Xposed installer from Download section from Xposed official thread (the latest version is typically available at this link: http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk) or this flashable zip https://mega.co.nz/#!nM9UEKQS!aQtXSzmL_LL9J7pEOtSiQSk7xV9j7-hQ_7mOllB7t4c
3) Install and run Xposed installer and follow the instructions to activate Xposed framework
4) Reboot. If device doesn't boot that means that the Xposed framework is not compatible with ROM you are currently
running. You don't need to continue with the next steps. You will have to restore your ROM from backup.
5) Download, GravityBox APK from the second post, rename it to GravityBox.apk and install it.
Alternatively, you can download the latest GravityBox directly from Xposed Installer (search for GravityBox [KK] module).
6) Make sure GravityBox app is installed into internal memory. If it was installed into phone storage or external storage,
move it into the internal memory first (applies only to devices having additional or external storage)
7) Run Xposed installer, go to Modules menu and activate GravityBox by checking the checkbox
8) Reboot
9) Launch GravityBox from app drawer or from Xposed installer and set options as desired
Reporting bugs
If you experience problems with certain feature, provide the full-detailed info that can help me
to reproduce the bug and attach debug.log file you'll find in:
/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/log
In case you experience SystemUI crashes or other apps Force Closing, or device soft reboots, attach logcat from time
crash occurs. (use adb logcat *:E or your favorite logcat app from Play Store).
Please, don't attach big logs. Only the portion where error is clearly seen.
Disable all other xposed modules before reproducing bug to make sure it is really GravityBox related
Remember, this app was developed and tested on one particular device so it is not guaranteed that
it will work flawlessly on yours.
Multilanguage support
Volunteers are welcome to translate GravityBox to other languages.
Simply download this file: https://github.com/GravityBox/Gravit...es/strings.xml
Use Notepad++ to edit strings and then send me edited file so I can include translations into next release.
Source code
GravityBox is opensource. Sources are available in my gihub: https://github.com/GravityBox/GravityBox/tree/kitkat
If you're a dev and have some ideas for additional features, feel free to fork it, work on it
and send the pull requests.

Maybe you could work together with @davidteri91 , he was also planning to do a CrDroid build for our device I think.

Yeah i know it, If david release his official CrDroid for this device, i'll stop this project.. about collaboration with him. i think i can't, dont have skill enough to manage it all, and i like to use Unofficial release. Why? Because i can add/remove that i dont like it in Official release such as CellBroadcast.apk, OTA updater, etc
Is it difficult to build on your own?
I'm new in this and would like to give it a try.
Besides thanks for the unofficial build.

What's all that fuss about android 5.0, I tried few recently, but they all feel oversimplified, with less functionality, although the CrDroid Lolipop feels smooth (antutu benchmark scored over 13.000), but anyways I miss some of the nice features and cool looks that some of the latest kitkat roms had. To name a few, you cannot take pictures with camera by pressing power button, changing the looks of the clock in the lockscreen doesn't seem to work, also could'nt find where I could add the shortcuts on the lockscreen. However I am very glad to see new roms for my beloved sgs +, thank you.

CM is working to merge the features from KK but it needs time and patience....
A few days ago they merged the Theme Chooser engine which in my opinion is a very big step.
At the moment the priorities are to have first a stable build suitable for daily use, after that we would also talk about new features.
Alright, sounds promising, thank you, keep it up
Good work, the rom feels smooth and fast :good:

Updating from previous crDroid version by this method will work?
I used only dalvik and cache wipe in addition to method above and it looks working to some extent.
Hey, I'm really happy that you made ROM for this phone, but i need your help with installation. I've downloaded your ROM and GAPPS, i made a backup of last ROM (just 2.3.6 stock) and I formatted Data, Cache, Dalvik, System and Internal. I tried to install your ROM with(out too) wiping data/dalvik after installation and I'm getting the same error all the time. When I'm booting, I'm getting information that my data is corrupted and I have to make a factory reset by button on screen. I doesn't make any changes, next boots are the same.
Of course I'm using TWRP which you mentioned in your post.
EDIT: I was installing latest verion.
Does this rom work for the i9000?

Thanks!
Nice to See that we have a Slim 6 now for our Tab. I will tried at the weekend.
Will there be a Mondrianlte version?
@prbassplayer
Thx for your work:
I tried this morning and flashed on my Tab.
I installed open Gapps Nano Package from today with out Probs ( my older Version stops with error Status 12 )
Installed also SuperSu.zip V2.67, without probs.
Startup and Google setup are very fast.
But now my Question: where i can find the Menu Button , to open the Apps ( Browser , Filemanager; mails etc. )
Edit: I tried following: set the playstore widget on my srceen and startet there. after connection with the play store installed the Nova launcher and from there i can open the Apps menu.
You don't need supersu we have root in the rom. As for your rom long press home window and add back the widget you need. This is a known but on out Todo list. Or simply install another launcher

I hate to be that guy asking, "Is feature X available, because I can't use it without feature X!" but, well, is the ability to use on-screen soft keys and turn off capacitive keys in yet? CM13 is kinda killing me (how can they make the WiFi worse than it already was on this tablet?!).
From my Tab Pro 8.4
Finally my bluetooth mouse does not interfere with thw wifi.
Good work, thanks for the rom

1. Ethernet + static IP support (https://github.com/codewalkerster/android_packages_apps_Settings/commit/f08f6803e5e31c45e487eae0854072ed8fdc3d65 and https://github.com/codewalkerster/android_packages_apps_Settings/commit/e329f97cea2f7b37ce0072b9f1b0fe5afe6caf97)
2. Mouse button mapping (right & wheel buttons) with support for Samsung Action Mouse thumb button
3. Enabling / disabling BT AVRCP Absolute Volume (can be pretty annoying and does not work well with custom volume steps)
4. Enabling / disabling WiFi IP Reachability monitor
5. Enabling / disabling HDMI Volume control (AOSP and CM only allow mute <> full volume)
6. option to display WiFi SSID on status bar (https://github.com/BlissRoms/platform_frameworks_base/commit/dda606d8e7d562ac347e0964b97130d0ff0c417a and https://github.com/BlissRoms/platform_packages_apps_Settings/commit/4c58c10290e98b575152bcfed60d3b68474433f1)
7. Option to display actual charging current on lockscreen (this one is device-specific, but works well with T320)
8. Change default GPS setting to device-only (makes sense for WiFi-only tablet)
I've tested all these features in my Temasek ROM mod, so all source code is readily available. Please let me know if you have any interest.
I always loved SlimROM and want to make it even better.

I completely respect your opinions. I'll validate my code against Slim framework and will publish it here, once "Slims Hardware Key Rebinding" is completed.
Has anyone tried this rom on tabpro 12.2?

Won't work on anything but 8.4. The 12.2 (and 10) have different processors and are totally separate devices.
From my Tab Pro 8.4
Any chance to see this rom on 12.2?

Build Custom ROM for Redmi Note 4

Just for the context - I'm new to building custom ROMs but have experience in Java, Linux and have flashed & used custom ROMs before.
I like a few features in MiUI like
• Phone App which allows me to take notes, record calls etc
• Data Usage bar in the notifications
• Restrictions on apps for data usage
And tiny features like that are a huge plus on MiUI...
I also like the snappy interface on AOSP, Lineage OS etc.
I want to build a custom ROM in which I want all the bits and pieces of each ROM.
Hope I'll get some help from XDA.
Any tutorials, guides, personal help will be really helpful.
Thank you
