Note: Discuss whatever you want to ask related to phone or any noobie questions (I am noobie too but i wanted a group of whatsapp so that we can clear everything) and don't send anything outside phone related topic

Isn't the whole point of this forum to discuss ideas, ask questions etc?
Why are you trying to take people away from a proper phone modding forum to a whatsapp group?

We all want sudden replies to urgent problems we face, we can't post everything on xda and wait for 2-3 days to get replies.
And what's the problem of creating an whatsapp group?
Everyone wants a group so that they can get their answers quicker without waiting. Can't we make one?

I am just figuring this out too
If I getting it right, you need 10 posts to post links and/or to create threads and discussions (not 6-8). But I didn't found it stated in the rules.

Though your reviving a very old thread with a valid question...
The following (portion) of a quote is probably the best guidance I can give you specific to your question regarding guidance on the XDA Rules for post counts.

That's why, as a "junior member" I am unable to ask my question here... I was wondering what was up with that. Surprised that my comments haven't reached the count of 10 yet over the past few years since I started consulting this forum. Commenting for the sake of commenting has never been my thing (like those answers to questions on amazon---"I don't know the answer, as I only just received the product" :-/ With this policy I do feel tempted though, as I have a rather pressing issue with my phone.

The 10 post limit only affected posting in /development sections, that limitation was dropped a few years ago.
There is a 50 post min to create a thread in development sections.

Actually I don't understand. I do understand the rules, that's why I didn't ask this question myself, but I don't understand why somebody would impose such a rule. I mean a guy who asks silly questions will ask a silly question even in his 11th post, while someone who doesn't usually ask silly questions will probably not do so from the first post.
...
A few weeks ago I managed to S-OFF, root and then install a lot of custom ROMs on my old Desire S, all that without asking any questions, just by reading the forum. In fact I didn't even feel the need to register.
But after that, I registered on the forum not to ask something, but to answer a question, I think it was about a broken link for an ENG S-OFF HBOOT, which I had found in another place and had successfully flashed.
Then I was shown the rules. The thread I was trying to reply to was in a "development-related forum", so as a new user I couldn't post a reply. I thought it would be kind of silly to post, as you put it, 10 "random posts", for the sole purpose of being able to post a useful one. So I gave up.
Maybe I am wrong, but I think this rule is doing more bad than good, at least in this particular case it certainly did. To avoid cluttering the forum with useless posts and silly questions, maybe a voting system would have been better? Something like the opposite of the "Thanks" button, allowing other users to vote down a post as inappropriate, then when it got a number of negative votes, it would be automatically deleted, or hidden as spam.
Just an idea...

Hello. Since you are not a registered member, it's impossible to know which thread you are referencing (all unregistered posters in Assist show as "XDA Visitor"). Please provide a link to the thread in question so we can take a closer look.
Also, the policy for the free XDA Assist service is to provide a reply and then wait for follow up from the original poster. If there is no follow up after a certain amount of time, we assume that the original poster has lost interest or found their answer elsewhere and so the thread is closed.
The goal of XDA Assist is to encourage guests to join our community by becoming a member of the site and to help point people in the right direction to finding their own answers on the site. Questions are not typically answered directly.
So, to further investigate your complaint, we will need a link to the thread in question.
Thanks,

Hi,
While we try that such situations do not arise, but as plain and simple as it may sound - we are not Customer Services for devices. This is XDA and the main purpose of the Assist team is to help you in the right direction. No one is obligated to do so.
If you are all so concerned about your question not answered, do us all a favour and have yourself registered on XDA and then post the question so there is a record.
I will not allow you to take pot shots at our team hiding behind the Guest account.
Feel free to PM me your grievance, but again, please note that this is not a place you can come and have everything on a silver platter - though the Assist team almost does that for y'all.
This thread has been closed, with a warning to you that if another thread on similar lines are opened we will take further action. We expect you to take anything of such nature over PM.
Thanks

Greetings,
The purpose of XDA Assist is to guide NEW members to the proper thread or forum regarding their issue. We are not a help desk. As a Senior member, you are expected to know how to use the search tools provided to you and the proper place to ask your questions.
Thanks for understanding.

Hi assist is for new users to come and be pointed to the correct forum to ask their question. If you need a thread closing then use the report button and one of your forums moderators will deal with it.
Many Thanks
