Stock ICS For Desire S

Hi Guys,
I m a resident of Mumbai,India and yesterday I found out from a local shop owner that HTC has planned to release ICS for the remaining devices in JUNE .
I am not really sure what he said is true or not but ok some hope that the meet of ICS with DS is soon happening !!
And even the DS 2.3.5 is more sadder than the previous version lost some features which I was habitual of. [ like music app had search option now lost !!!]
Please share your news !!

While i do agree the no. of ICS speculation threads is too much, i saw this on a chinese site. June seems the date now Delayed from April to may now may to june
PS - i do not understand chinese, but i see all devices have 4.0 listed in 6th month (june) so....

Hello, I'm Stefan from SimplTeam. As the Logo might tell you, I'm the kernel developer responsible for SimplKernel.
We're currently developing the Rom and Kernel for the Note4 (Exynos & Snapdragon), but my technical research has forced me to create a Build for the S6 and I decided to keep working on it.
Problem is that neither of us has a Galaxy S6 and we can't test if the kernel works or not.
Here is where you come in (hopefully). Before this kernel can be published in the Original Development section, someone obviously needs to try if it works. Every tester will be credited in the OP of the future thread.
Once it is succesfully booting, builds for the G910L/S and K will be added and we will move to add more features. It would be amazing if you keep testing then too.
If you have the F variant and would like to join our awesome Team, please leave a reply or PM me with your phone number, I'll contact you via WhatsApp, give you the details and a link to the build.
Requirements:
- You should know how to take a last_kmsg and dmesg. If you don't know how, I can teach you that or recommend good apps to do that
- Have the F-Variant. Support for others will only be added later.
- Love flashing

My phone is 2 weeks old and I somehow broke it LOL.
I kid, It just stopped Fast Charging the other day. I bought a new original Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger but it still didn't fast charge.
I took it into Samsung Customer Care and they confirmed my chargers are fine it's the phone.
I should have the phone back by Saturday, I pray.

best phone i have ever used and worth every penny and i normally am not a big samsung fan but the pulled it off with the s6 edge been a bit off a carry on getting twrp to work and get the phone to deep sleep but i got it sorted and all that should be sorted when official twrp is released but part from that am happy and yes will pm you my number

Yes developers could port over treble for Athene but you have to realise that it isn't something you can just get done. It'll take quite a bit of research and testing before anything treble related comes up. You have to consider that not every developer owns your device and might not have enough time to do things that you and the community want.
If a developer owns the device and wants to work on treble for it then sure, but don't expect it to happen, just be hopeful

the best possible thing is to find the most active rom developer in the G4+ forum and request him to try. Don't ask for ETAs, as it is considered rude, just request them and respect their work and time

Guys I don't think our device may support treble.
Talking about xioami phones they have an extra partition called 'cust' to cache their miui. And it is not used in AOSP roms which made developers like abhishek make all the hardware related 'hal's/api's or whatever to 'cust' partition.but coming to athene it haven't got any extra partition like xioami phones does. So ,I dont think creating a partition is so simple like that . of course razor phone did get treble later with updates but we need to realise that a company has huge team to do it and developers are paid well for it. And moreover our Athene has sd617 which is better known for heating issues.and is old 32-bit soc. And do you think developers really going to take this device seriously ?c'mon guys .its time to get a new device .don't get me wrong I still use this device for financial issues but I don't think treble in athene is worth developer's their time.

As of now, China testing oreo on P9 and Honor 8. Firmwares in hwff confirming every Shots we we got lastly from there.
Only AL00 for now. All about C432 is unknown yet.

What default smallest width do you use?? Anything above 409 kinda disables SLO mo in default camera app on mine.

This is why everyone should send from their HiCare app - Feedback that they demand Oreo in Europe/US or they may release it only for "their people".

Yeah, "many sites", like those that said that P9 will not have orea at all, or those that said that P9 will not have security updates...
Like, seriously, instead of relaying on random people who just make stuff up just to post something on their barely visited sites and blogs, you could just fallow huawei sites/social media and people related to its modding, including people here in xda forum.
Dont spread disinformations because other people copy/paste that and thats how we have chaos and annoying whining of people who complain that they not gonna get update.
If it will be ready, it will be ready, if not, all P9 still work perfectly, and Huawei is not some stupid local brand. They know that even if Asian market is big, European/US market is most important and they dont just piss on it.
There is not much BIG differences between asian version and EU/US ones so tell me why would Huawei dont release it for us when its a matter of just... releasing that update after testing in Asia?

They're just testing Oreo in China, because its their original country. If the system will be ok, then everyone will get Oreo. I dont see a reason for not getting 8.0 in Europe, when China will have that. It would be so stupid.
And yeah, "many sites" confirmed that P9 wont have Oreo. We'll see...

yeah, but sadly I never encounter OEM support that actually take user feedback into the account
I think those feedback links are more for psychological aspect like "yeah, I just contributed to development!" but in real life I can bet that its all going in to the air.
I think only real way to "force" on OEM something is to spam about it on official forums/social media, making drama of it(im not kidding, everyone should cry like it was apocalypse) or do exaggerated tips to every possible site and blog writing it like it would be phone-breaking bug.
Those types of things hurt company image so they always try to fix it as fast as possible... Its sad as hell but true...
