S-ON users have to flash boot.img manually via fastboot after flashing ROM.
Here are the steps:
1. Extract ROM zip file with winrar or winzip
2. Follow this guide on flashing boot.img from extracted ROM folder LINK or this video guide Video LINK
3. After that reboot and wait for ROM to boot
Click thanks! if this helped
Thank you for your help. now my device is working

It doesn't matter. I works both ways.
I preffer to do it before rom install because after installing the rom I just reboot and wait for it to boot.

How can i install a custom kernel after installing a new Rom? i tried flashing it(zip file) from custom recovery but it was not sucessful

Same procedure as above.
Kernel is integrated into boot.img.
So if you want to flash kernel from rom X , just flash boot.img from rom X.
If you S-OFF your phone then you can flash boot from recovery.
If i want to flash another kernel and not that from rom then what i have to do?

I believe you need a modified boot.img to flash Magisk. Have you installed a modified boot.img to enable using Magisk?

You don't just patch the boot.img, you flash the newly created boot.img onto the device and then you flash magisk, such as described in the link below using method 2.
https://droidfeats.com/how-to-install-magisk/
You might need to reflash your full stock firmware to repair your device and then try installing Magisk again using the instructions above.

Try the link now, read method 2. If you can't get it to work, try using the method to uninstall Magisk or try flashing the stock firmware. To learn how to do that, do a Google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"

Install Magisk to gain root, then get a copy of lineage camera, use Titanium Backup to remove GCam, then install lineage camera and use Titanium Backup to convert it to system app.
You might not get the camera to work, no matter what you do.

External SD should be fine
I flashed magisk-boot.img and all worked.
Now i wanted to unroot and stupid me, not thinking about what i am doing, i unrooted through magisk manager.
So i'm stuck in a boot loop.
Flashing the stock-boot.img in fastboot mode now got me to fastboot not recognizing my phone anymore.
When i check "fastboot devices" it returns "???????????? fastboot".
Flash mode still allows me to flash another boot.img with "fastboot flash boot stock-boot.img" but that doesn't fix the bootloop.
Any ideas?

Maybe you need to flash vbmeta.img before first boot. Or try another GSI (verify using Treble Info app to know which variant you need)

but whats about bootloop after kernel flashing? and magisk too
I've checked, and I can say that the bootloop occurs after flashing TWRP_3.6.2 and disabling_vbmeta_R.

You need to flash the patched kernel;
1. Run multidisabler in TWRP terminal
2. Factory reset via TWRP
3. Reboot to recovery
4. ADB Push the kernel or use the sd card and flash it.
5. Boom, you can boot now.
