Android update on Chinese TV box - Android Stick & Console Computers General

I have a Chinese TV box that i bought couple years back.
I would like to update android as i had some issues with google services.
Pics of my unit:

During the research i noticed it nearly the same as Allwinner A83TDevBoard.

Is there any chance for getting any recent Android version that would work with that unit?
It should support basics: IR, USB, HDMI, WiFi and Ethernet.
Thanks

Seems android 5.1 is the latest version for this SoC, but seems have only tablet SDK. Which Android version you have now?

[Q] [APP Asking]USB TV TUNER support on android

Hi every wonderfull android devs !!
I'm a proud owner of the wonderfull (again) TF101, but i guess something usefull is missing in android mobility solution : i named : USB/PCI driver and player for TNT DVB-T TV Tuners under android
As now tablets and even phone have USB plugs and enough power to make it, maybe they can support those little USB TV tuner dongles.
As reference under windows i'm using pouchin TV which is a lite and fluid player for TNT TV (DVB-T - H264 codecs etc ...) but i know there are many more like this one and maybe some which could be better... BUT my guess is for android !! i fall in love with it, its not perfect but it tend to be a light and easy to use (and in same time powerfull and completly controlable and customizable).
(But if i can make a parenthesis i would say that android fully interface with windows and that's great but only few apps can fill the connectivity gap between androtablets and androphones (like pdanet for instance). So please think about functionnality between 2 android device in your apps devs
parenthesis closed . )
So what about my suggestion about a new kind of app for android : i mean TNT TV support (for mobility reasons) through mini antennas or wall antenna plugs?..
First : is it possible? (i guess most linux distro already did it)
second : will it be done one day? does some brave guys/grils with gold software coding hands would be brave enough to make it !?
Please respond to my hope!!!
Thank a lot for all the work already done and for the one that will be ! (in any topics )

USB TV tuner support on the gen8 Archos devices.
I am looking for this too.
Hi
First thanks for replies.
So if i have well read, froyo include the good drivers for usb tuners, but the transformer is under honeycomb (but that shouldn't be a trouble, as i guess that drivers would be included to it also) and the main trouble would be to adapt this app to the transformer (hardware point of view), it's just à guess as I'm just a Mc guyver with c code... And at least working on a rooted stock Rom..
Am i right?

Is thid project "death"?
I have a DVB-T-Stick with RTL2832U Chip (and 820T).
In the Play store, there is also a driver for this "RTL2832U" based DVB-T sticks Intended for a SDR App.
I can receive flight transponder data live from airplanes with a app, but there is no universal DVB-T tv app ?
Only "DVB-T for Android" etc., for ELECOM Micro-USB etc. DVB-T-Tuners.
Hello All,
May you want to check this USB tuner supports on Android TV;

android device to use on a tv

Hi,
I'm after some advice. I need to connect an android 5.x device to a tv using hdmi. It need to be full android as per a tablet. Ideally the device will have a standard resolution such as 1920 x 1080.
The reason being I have to install some software for android that turns it into kiosk mode and then run digital signage software. The software is site kiosk by provisio.
The tv will be a large format touch screen so in essence a giant tablet. I could plug in a tablet which would work but it seems a waste as I don't need the tablet screen.
Are there any devices I could use, off the shelf or something I could get and then install android on to. I was thinking of an rpi 3 but seems android doesn't work yet on the pi, well not android 5.x anyway
I also looked at android tv devices but I'm not sure these run a std android os and therefore the software I need to use may not install.
Any suggestion would be great fully received.
Thanks....

Is it possible to forcefully upgrade Android TV?

I have a Kogan KALED55KU8000SZA 55-inch Smart TV (or a "Mstar Android TV" by "Mstar Semiconductor Inc." according to the Web-based version of the Google Play Store)... It runs Android TV 5.1.1 with 3.41GB of ROM space (2.16GB used) and the "Android TV" side of things is pretty average to say the least.
According to Wikipedia, Android 7.0 ("Nougart") introduced some changes to Android TV and whilst the other versions of Android don't list any obvious improvements, it would safe to say that there's probably some "under the hood" changes...
So my question is, what is the possibility of upgrading Android TV on my television Android 7.0 ("Nougart") or beyond?
It is possible to achieve this and if so, is it worth the effort? Is it safe (well, as safe as custom-flashing can be)? How would I do this?

Install Android on a Philips Non-Android TV

I have a 50PUS6523_12 TV
While I'm extremely happy about the TV itself, the current OS and app selection is very lacking
Since I see it runs 4 cores (I haven't found anywhere the exact model) and the web browser works pretty well, I think it can handle an Android.
Is it feasible?
Oh no I was finding exactly the same for my 55PUS6272 /12.
Any clue? Is it possible to turn my TV into a real Android TV?
