Hello everyone!
I dont know if someone already posted this thread, but I'm a bit desperate now. Here is my problem.
A few days ago I was sliding through Facebook, when my phone screen just turned upside down and backwards.
1) Restarted the phone - NOTHING.
2) Rooted and tried to modify a line in system folder (rotation) that everyone said would solve the problem, but the line doesn't eve exist.
3) Factory reset and flashed stock firmware- NOTHING.
4) Tried updating screen firmware through MMI/USSD code, but phone refuses to execute codes.
Rtl layout is not on just so we're clear.
Screenshot is normal. The controls are the same, but the picture is upside down, so I would'nt say it's a hardware problem.
Any suggestions before I replace the damn screen?

That is kind of weird, unfortunately I have nothing to advice that you didn't perform previously , I think the best thing to do is to send it to customer service :/
In my opinion it is a software issue and changing the screen won't resolve it
Weird.
Is it revered in fastboot or recovery too?
This would highlight if it's a screen issue or ROM software...

Give it a try flashing another firmware via dload... May that could help..
Ok, we have a brealthrough! I flashed a few new firmwares, and when I flashed the last one the picture went to normal orientation, but now the screen is flickering and blinking and going bananas.

LOL.. those are really strange issues..
Downgrade your phone to marshmellow.. Try flashing marshmallow firmware.. If it went back to normal upgrade to nougat via OTA.
Holy crap it's back to normal. I went to developer options and disabled HW overlay. Apparently CPU and GPU were ''fighting'' over who's going to control the screen. So for anyone who has the same issue as me, and none of the solutions I mentioned in the first post help- flash stock firmaware/firmwares, and if the problem persists, disable HW overlay. Thanks a lot guys
EDIT - Oh and flashing firmware via dload worked like a charm. Thanks hassanjavaid8181

Hi Guys,
I have a Nexus S EU version I9023 and I wanted to get ICS. I flashed the 128 mb ICS image manually through fastboot recovery, however, I wanted to go back and try to flash it again or flash 2.3.6 on the phone again but it's not working.
It's going into fastboot and I can choose what I want from the menu but when I choose Recovery, it shows the Google screen, Flashes the Android with a little "Matrix" ball in front of it and then it freezes at a black screen, with the soft buttons lit up.
Could anyone tell me what happened and if it can be fixed?
PS: When I press VolumeUp+Power at the black screen, it resets!

Thing is, I don't have clockworkmod installed at all. It's a clean Nexus S, NO root, NO CWM, no nothing.
I truly hope that somebody will have an answer to this or that, at least, I won't loose any OTA updates from Google by making this update.
The stock ics recovery turns off the backlight on the 9023, it has been explained countless times. Point a flashlight at it and u should be able to see what's actually there.

Exactly. I've had the same problem than OP and fixed it today. Just use a very bright lamp, try to find a good angle and you may see the recovery menu (it's hard to see, you'd better be comfortable with the navigation on the recovery menu as you may not be able to read everything).
it depends what you want to do from here on. the bright light method did not work for me so i installed cwmrecovery with bootloader.
if u are waiting for the next ota, do nothing as you wont need stock recovery to install update.
if you wanna downgrade or flash different rom, you can install cwmrecovery and use that from thr..
no need to access stock recovery
i panicked as well when it happened but ntg to worry about

Hey guys!
I just bricked my phone by wiping dalvik cache after installing marmite. Now my phone is just showing a black screen when power on.
Ive tried using the UnbrickableMod Tool by Adam, but my device does not get recognized.
What do I have to do? I love this phone, and I do not want to buy a new one yet
>>devil188
So , I just did use the ubtool again , but this time on linuxmint, which gave me superuser access using that. But I only get far till <sbl inj. failed>
Gonna take a look now who over dudes solved that, but still feel free to help me
flash the non-cm version of marmite.
how can i flash something if i can't get into download/fastboot etc. mode ?
Anyway, I still can't get through the SBL injection Failed thingy, i think i gotta make a hardware modification (unbrickable mod) :/
Well, ain't nobody helping me? Doing that UnbrickableMod looks extremely hard, because the things you gotta change are very very small!

If THAT ALONE caused the brick you're describing, maybe nobody has the ability to understand what just happened.

Try Nexus Root Toolkit (for windows).. Though I think you'll need to be able to boot to boot loader??.. (vol + & power)
If you can't do that, read the threads on Odin, it may help..
Doesn't work either, actually I can't access anything on the phone :/
Gonna take a look at the odin threads
Recently my screen's digitizer broke, so I ordered a new screen and just got it today.
I replaced it and I tested it, it turned on and that, but when I try to boot it just come with the onplus logo and powered by android stuff in the bottom and that's the only thing it's showing with it just turns off and on basically rebooting
So I tested, can it go into fastboot it could so I tried flashing twrp on but didn't work keeps doing the same cannot even enter recovery just fastboot.
Anyone tried this before or, what can I do to fix it if there is a possible fix for it.
Have you tried flashing official images from fastboot? hopefully not a hardware issues
I'm having the same problem, also since today. My phone just got in a bootloop while powered on and running completely fine. Trying to boot into recovery also gets me a bootloop. Fastboot works, and when i try to flash anything it tells me it succeeds. Then when i try to power on again, still the same bootloop.
I've tried the Oneplus Recovery Tool, same thing. Everything succeeds, but I still end up with a bootloop. The logo on the fastboot page had changed, though, so I'm guessing the flash was successful, but something else is broken.
I'm actually really worried about my phone right now.

Yep, that's the one. Everything seems to work fine, all the bars are loading, and the device turns green. Unplugged the device, booted up, still a bootloop.
I tried the ColorOS guide (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unbrick-oneplus-one-t3013732) too, same thing. The boot logo did turn red though.

If even that tool couldn't solve it then it's definitely a hardware issue.

Damn. Well, too bad. I'm going to try to fix my phone for a bit more, not that I think it's still fixable. Thanks!
I also think it is a hardware issue but I don't want it to be :/
It's just funny but I think I found it, its the power button because apparently the button itself got off the wire so maybe I can sort it on again.
Or maybe it could be something else but cannot seem to find it.
I maybe u try to get my friend to sort a new storage chip on if I can get I contact with him wish me luck

Just get your device checked from a local source and then replace the decayed part yourself.
AFAIK,it can be either battery or Motherboard/Logic board.

I am encountering the same problem. Out of nowhere my phone started rebooting. It reboots ok and after a minute it does it again...so it is working alright for a minute. However, my phone is completely stock Cyanogen OS...
I have tried this, but it did not work for me.

If it does work alright for a minute every time, I don't think you have the same problem as I have.
Hello, last night i received the message that my phone needed to update itself to the new firmware so i did that.
When the phone rebooted it just put me onto a black screen with the twrp logo flashing every 5 seconds, i figured out that it was because of me running an old version of twrp and i
flashed it and rebooted and everything worked great but then i tried to root my phone with supersu and the phone switched logo in the boot from the honor logo to the android logo and froze there,
i managed to fix that aswell. Now to the problem i am facing right now, the phone got similar problems again so i attempted a normal factory reset, didn't help so i tried to format data and it removed everything but i am still stuck at the infinite booting loop when i start my phone. Does anyone know how to fix this? I do not have the money to purchase a new one
I have access to adb and twrp just so you know.

When i press the volume up + down and power button it brings me to twrp, i can't manage to get into erecovery mode.
Nvm i got in. However when i get into the mode and press the recovery button it spins until it displays this message "Getting package info failed". Do i have to do it through erecovery?
