I've been searching for a long time and haven't found any guide supporting this device that didn't say "Only works for lg g3 5.0 or below".
I want to root my device without downgrading it first, is that possible?

Updated my d 801 to 20g firmware but towelroot says my device isn't supported. Every time i do a search for arootb method it directs me to towelroot site just wandering of anyone had found a way to root this version

Okay. So I've decided that I wanted to root my SPRINT LG G3. The only legit method I've found was STUMP, which claims that my Phone is patched. Since I've never encountered this problem before, I have no knowledge of how I can upatch it. I've tried looking for other root methods but found nothing compatible with the LS990 LG G3. Do you guys know any other root methods, or a way to unpatch(Provided with links please.)?

You can review this thread, especially the first post. Lots of info. It seems that's your only root method. As far as undoing stump, You'd need to ask in the Stump thread about that.

I have a LG G3 and am wondering root it.
I already got success when used the stock rom (d855p10a-SCA-XXX), with purpledrake.
But updated for android Lollipop with the official room (downloaded from LG site)
But im unable to root it :
in Stump Root says "the device is patched sorry"
in purpledrake says "ERROR: Your phone is not running a compatible software version . no vulnerable mode detected.
I ask the help of XDA...

I think the only way to root the LGH636 is with Kingroot. For now the canadian stylo is stuck to 5.0.2.
If I root the phone, will I be able to get the 5.1.1 OTA update when (if) it come ? If yes, will I loose root after the update ?

if you root you can't OTA.....and if you have a unlocked bootloader chances are that if you do update via OTA that you will have a locked one

Hello. I came to the forum for help with my LG D722. (LG G3 S)
As the time goes on with it, I wanted to install a custom ROM to my LG G3 S (D722) (AKA LineageOS), I heard that rooting the phone is the 1st step. I tried using the LG OneClick method but didn't work, I enabled USB debugging in developer options and installed drivers to my PC. If there's any other way to install LineageOS to my device or rooting it, please reply to the thread. It means a lot.
To install a Custom ROM it's NOT required that phone's Android OS got roted before.
You install a Custom ROM by means of a suitable Custom Recovery, not via ADB.
