VPN for update?

Hey guys, so a friend of mine has a One Plus 3 but he didn't recived the update yet. So he utilized a vpn to connect to servers from Canada and UK and he got the update.
Has some one claimed that he got the update from sweden, if there are any possibility to connect to another area to look for that update. Specially in sweden

Sadly that won't work unless you have a device from that region or you're running the previous firmware from that region. The OP3 isn't region specific, so he can get the update from any region. The Honor 8 though has various models for each region of the world. (L04/L14 US, L09 EU, etc)

Ohh I see, thanks for responding. That is sad tho :/

You shouldn't need to connect to the device OEM's server via a VPN in order to get updates for your device. As OTA OS updates are sent to each device dependent on their model number and the regional OS settings.

if you know the update version just download it online and manually install it?

I read the thread but I'm out of luck cuz I don't have wifi no router near me. To complicated to do that.

I don't know why everybody is in such a hurry to upgrade their OS from Marshmallow to Nougat. When Nougat is only available for a handful of devices at the moment. The majority of the other Nougat release are still in the Beta cycle and have numerous bugs that have yet to be addressed yet.

Just wait till you notice that allot of features that were in Marshmallow are missing in the Nougat Beta. While the performance maybe slightly better than Marshmallow. Nougat still isn't ready for retail use on the Honor 8 yet.

All essential features are here. Getting 5 to 6 sot.
I haven't faced a single issue. Plus I'm not a guy for complaining about features. I buyer the Honor 8 because of speed. And that's what I'm getting.

It's because the Nougat on this phone means EMUI 5 and it's 10x better than EMUI 4.1 .. trust me
it's a much better phone on Nougat EMUI5 ( Even Beta) BTW I think the current B360 for the L04 is the final Beta.
It will go live in the next 4 or 5 weeks. (Huawei is really slow)

B360 is definitely a fully functional build. I have yet to find anything broken and it even includes Vulkan api. As said above, EMUI 5.0 is miles ahead of EMUI 4.1. It's a much better and cleaner looking UI.

AH! I forgot that the new version of EMUI is better than the current version. It's the same with most android device OEMs.

Hi, have just received the device , model state B190 and no update. since EU and Asia got the cookie was wandering if also American variant received it..
or-can I just update to oreo with any C rom?

Nope, hasn't received it yet. Last update was April 5th I believe. Pretty lame and pathetic if ask me. Huawei wants to break into the US market they are going to have to start doing better than this. Had it to do over with, I'd got something else besides this phone.

There is only a beta release for our c567 so far, to install any of the ones for other regions you're going to have to unlock your bootloader, rebrand, and install that Oreo using the steps in other threads, our mate 9 c567 Oreo should be rolling out as an OTA update in a few weeks so I'd be patient and wait a while, I installed a different regions ROM and want really happy with it at all.

I thought Samsung forgot C9 Pro
But I think my region will be the last region to get update to 8.0.0
Because Hong Kong C9 Pro S is the last region that update Android 7.1.1
But Open China always get the latest update

Ha, I still didn't get the Oreo update
Anyone get it
I saw some news about this Oreo update of C9 Pro it said C9 Pro will get update within June
And now I still stay on Nougat

China & Hong Kong will get this update mid July or Early August, they're testing it right now in China
ill keep you guys posted it about it

I saw it along time ago ,still a "news" not actually come
And u can see in the article, Samsung is not giving out the Android 8.1 to us, the "Oreo" update may be base on 8.0.0 not 8.1.0

U can flash china firmware on HK just Flash the AP file with Odin simple ? you just will have to need Google Apps download Google apps package flash it by twrp.

Ok, looks like A750GNDXU2ASB4 (PDA)(Android Oreo) is the latest version for your phone. Android Pie is not yet released for your region. Buy I am sure it will be released real soon. :fingers-crossed:

One UI 2.0 for A30 (date release)

Samsung has confirmed about when their other devices are getting the new One UI 2.0 with s10 and s10+ getting their stable builds just yesterday. Happy to say that our device a30 will getting the latest version of android during January which is not what i actually expected, with other devices somewhat better than us (A series) getting after January.

Will these dates differ for other countries? Specifically, Australia?

Yes it surely will. In Korea i believe it is going to hit in the month of January, by Febraury first week i suppose all countries will get the update.

A good news!
There is an unofficial source that shows us that A30 will get closed beta test in the mid-december mostly from December 16th. A30 will be the first A series device to get the taste of One UI 2.0.
Also sammobile has reported today that the A30 will get wifi certification with Android 10, that means the new software is already in the testing.

According to what the Samsung members app says, the update for South America is suspended again until May ... is it possible to install another ROM from another region? I'm tired of them postponing the update
