Hi,
Is possible to have the lockscreen of the S8+ like the googe pixel?
For example, if i receive an notification, the screen can wake up and show the particular notification?
In the google pixel it happens, but on S8+ just have the icon of the application and not wake up.
Thanks

Easy to do.
Steps:
1. Disable AOD;
2.Disable Edge Led notifications;
3.install app Glimpse Notifications (will wake up screen for any notification) and enable it;
4. Done.
Regarding this and heads up notifications you can read more on my thread, since although I do like how edge led and s8/s8+/n8 notifications look visually you have to admit they (bubble notifications) are not very practical, and I wanted to re-create notifications the same way the appear on other nougat based Android phones

I'm having very inconsistent lock screen notifications on Nougat after the update. I'm on the stock theme with Magazine Unlock.
Update: It appears as if new notifications display on the lock screen. As soon as you unlock the screen, then re-lock it, the notifications disappear from the lock screen even if they're still active in the notification tray. This is not how lock screen notifications are supposed to work, AFAIK and as far as I remember from Marshmallow and other ROMs as well.
Global:
When device is locked: Show all notification content
If device is locked, prevent typing (...) [unchecked]
Screen lock secured with PIN, fingerprint unlock enabled
App specific (In this example, 'Slack'):
Allow notifications [checked]
Display on the lock screen [checked]
When locked: Hide notification content [checked] (tried this set both ways, no difference)
I don't see any lock screen notifications with these settings. In the case of Slack above, I have active notifications in my status bar and I don't see them on the lock screen.
I went to bed last night with nothing displaying, woke up and I saw Calendar, Gmail, etc on my lock screen. Used my phone a bit, re-locked display, turned screen on, and back to no notifications. This morning though, Tasker is now showing in my lock screen (as it should) but none of my other apps are showing on the lock screen.
Is anybody else experiencing this?
I have a similar problem.
I have just upgraded to Nougat, EVA-L09C432B360, and I have no notification on status bar on screenlock. I find it annoying. Didn't find any work around.
Once the screen is unlocked I find the notification on status bar.
I dont want to have the notification displayed as a banner but only in status bar.
It's very annoying. I didn't have this problem on Marshmallow with the VUi Material Design theme, maybe once he gets a version for EMUI 5.0 it'll start working again.
I've just upgraded to B378, but still I got no notification in status bar of the lock screen ( nor aquamail or whatsapp). It might be the applications in fault here.
I just got a brand new Honor 8 which immediately upgraded to Nougat, and this seems to be the default behaviour for lockscreen notifications on EMUI, not an issue or a bug.
Since EMUI is heavily iOS inspired, and this is the notification behaviour on iOS then they copied it. I suggest trying a different lockscreen app until Huawei changes this.
That is caused by the theme used.
Go to themes, customize, lockscreen style, and be sure that you have selected #unlock with images"
I have only magazine unlock option. This did not solve the problem.
I'm having the exact same problem on my P10 lite (it came with Nougat out-of-the-box).
Has anyone figured this out? I don't have unlock with images option either..
As mentioned earlier - EMUI does not use the standard Nougat lockscreen notification actions. Do not expect it to work like stock android. The only way around it is to do one of these two options:
1. Install a 3rd party launcher (be careful, some don't play nicely with fingerprint/pin security)
2. Install Nils Lock Screen Notification app from the Play Store. This app does exactly what you want and lets you keep the stock lock screen.
Had the same issue with Gmail notifications using an Honor 8. The solution I found was hidden in Gmail Settings.
Open Gmail settings
Click on your email account(s) under the General settings
Make sure Notifications is checked
Select Inbox sound and vibrate
Make sure Label notifications is checked
This was the missing piece for me: Make sure the Notify for every message is checked
Screenshots of Gmail Settings
Also make sure you have changed the default email app to Gmail. Settings, Apps, Settings (wheel that appears at the bottom of the screen), Default app settings, Email - Gmail.
I had the same problem before. To fix it you have to enable the magazine unlock after apply the theme.
in nougat, you could set app priority for notifications, but of course Google in all its wisdom completely removed a feature to turn off a "feature" that so many of us can't stand. if you disable heads up via adb, it ruins the ambient display in that it won't light up when a message comes through anymore... don't ask me why, but Google is full of morons coding nowadays. anyone have any idea?

First time in android lollipop devices introduces heads up (Peeking) notification feature. When enable this feature, you can see notification on home screen. In android Oreo, you can also reply from home screen without open app. In android 8.1 Oreo devices, you can disable interruptions of app if you don’t want to show pop up notifications on screen, sound and vibrate when receive any app notification. Different android device has slightly different settings to turn off peeking notification in android 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo. Also disable heads up notifications on android Oreo 8.1

So I tried this on my main social apps and they are appearing flawlessly. I hope they are useful.
Please follow the below steps to solve it:
1. Slide upward from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center, hold and press the WhatsApp icon and click Add to white list;
2. Enter i Manager>Power manager>Excessive background battery usage>turn on the switch of WhatsApp;
3. Access i Manager>App manager>Autostart manager>turn on the switch of WhatsApp.
This worked for me with my Samsung Gear Fit2 watch. You have to make sure all of the Samsung apps and plugins associated with the Gear Fit2 are enabled in iManager (iOS hints everywhere... Lol)
Ok uninstalling iManager app notification from all app works excellent now

for example ... when a team scores a goal sound notification late more than 5 minutes and so constantly
So I'm dealing with a slight problem. Honestly could just be something to get used to. I have the India Model (Global Rom), and I deal with a notification issue for my lock screen. I've already done adb and gotten rid of iManager, but I still seems to have an issue with notifications coming through.
This is mostly with Android Messages (I use this as my default). If I leave a notification of a message on my lockscreen for too long, it eventually disappears and indicates on my home screen I no longer have a notification (Using Nova). But when I enter the app of course the message is still there and says unread. Its a small problem, but it can become annoying.
Its as if I leave a notification in the status bar for too long, it eventually disappears and then indicates I no longer have a notification. Is this just a normal thing for an international device? ( I am in the states by the way).
Its a small gripe, because otherwise I still love the device and I'm glad I waited for the India model. Its my daily driver for now.
anyone have problem with whatsapp vibration unable to change into the default/short/long options... no matter which option i chose... the whatsapp vibration will just revert back to the default vibration.... my group msg vibrating like mad instead of the short vibration that I really like for grp chat....
Easiest way to deal with problems on the Vivo Nex= just sell the phone and go with Xiaomi or OnePlus.
Pixel Pulse can turn your Ambient Display into a Pulsing display that activates when you have notifications available.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compass.pixelpulse
The free option uses a branded icon and repeats the title and content of your actual notifications. The paid version adds the ability to use the default apps icon and colors, override colors, and have swipe and tap actions.
You can also replace the double tap to wake with the scrolling pulse, which is my favorite feature. Just be sure to turn off Google's double tap to wake.
For it to work you need the following settings:
Notification content shown on the lock screen
Always on display: OFF
Wake on new notifications: ON
Works on Samsung SM-J500FN running [OFFICIAL][ROM]Bootlegers ROM Pie for Galaxy J5 [SM-J500H/F/FN/G/M/Y]
If I power on the phone and leave it, then the app does not work, but it does work if I unlock the screen once after power on.
Thank you for this app, it really makes a difference to phones without notification leds

Android doesn't start any apps until its first unlocked after a restart. Not even third party messaging apps.
I've just yesterday gotten a Mi Mix 3 and set it up accordingly, and I'm finding MIUI okay as a whole except for some issues with notifications I'm having. Basically:
Some apps that send push notifications will only send them to the notification shade. No notification icon, no pop-up alert, no lock screen notification (more on that later), no sound, no vibration, no notification light. This is all completely independent of the notification settings of the app. I can turn everything on and it still won't show. Some apps show fine, such as discord and messages, but they still won't show on the lockscreen:
No notifications showing on the lockscreen at all. For apps that do send notifications, only the sound and notification light will display when I receive one, but checking both the lockscreen and notification shade whilst the phone is locked will show me nothing until I unlock it. This is while "Lock screen notifications" is enabled in the app notification channel.
No per-app notification sounds. This is most likely less of a bug and more of a missing implementation, but since this is a base Android feature now is there alternate way to enable these?
Settings specific to these issues:
In "Lockscreen & Password / Advanced Settings / On Lock Screen" the phone is set to "Show all notifications and their contents".
In "Lockscreen & Password / Notifications" it's set to "Show Animation".
In "Notifications & Status bar" "Show notification icons" and "Show on lock screen" is on.
MIUI version is fully updated at 10.2.1.
Anyone got any idea?
Many thanks
For me i had to activate it for each app seperately, that i wanted notifications from. Except for apps that already gave me notifications like snapchat. I know i had to do it manually on instagram for example

Strangely, by going into the app notification settings and changing the settings off and on again it seems to have fixed the problem? At least for the actual app's I've tested (twitter and discord).
I've also tried with an app called push notification tester however and this has the same 1. and 2. issues. I'm not sure what the difference is but if it works for important stuff at least that's what matters.
To everyone else the 3rd question still stands; is there a way to get app-specific notification sounds in MIUI 10?
The simple solution is to install a non-MIUI-based ROM.
Have someone found out how to set per app notification sound?

LOL. Stop fat-shaming it! Weight was one of my biggest concerns coming from a Galaxy S5, and the MM3 is heavy, but you do get used to it after a couple of weeks.

Literally burst out laughing in a meeting where I'm the lowest man on the totem pole by far, oops.
I'm having this same problem again myself
Even Xiaomi apps like YiCam don't work right half the time.
The notification inconsistency in MIUI is one of the biggest reasons that I just listed mine for sale. No matter how many times I've gone through individual app settings and overall notification settings, it never works as expected. And my expectation is only for it to work as the settings that I've selected indicate. It makes me a little sad actually... this was my first Xiaomi device and I ended up liking MIUI way more than I thought I would (especially compared to EMUI... which is complete trash). Oh well... on to the next.
I run an app called Notification Repeater(apk) and it seems to address any of the inconsistencies that MIUI has with Notifications(or lack there of). I use another app called AutoNotification(by joaomgcd on the Play Store i believe) to block some notifications such as "x app is diplaying over other apps" that never seem to go away.
I know it kind of sucks to have to find a work around to use a phone when realistically it would be nice if your phone just worked the way you wanted it to out of the box..but since installing these apps i have been more than happy with my current situations when it comes to Notifications.
I've also had similar problems. In addition to manually turning on each apps notification in settings (Have to remember this for every time I download an app as well) I've aslo downloaded the app 'Notification Repeater' which has helped significantly. I get absolutely ZERO notifications on the lock screen though which is something I still haven't figured out how to fix without switching ROMs. I hope someone can figure something out.

It is sort of thick but is the densest phone I've ever held. Got used to it after a week or two though, I don't think it's a deal breaker
