A little side project I've been working on for myself, figured I'd share in case others want to use it
I like listening to podcasts to go to sleep & I'd much prefer to wake up to a podcast then an annoying alarm sound so I built PodAlarm to do just that.
It's intentionally simple - you set what audio app you want to use as the alarm, set the alarm time.. that's it.
It also has an option to make the alarm recurring along with the option to set specific days you want it to recur.
Note: It'll work with any audio app that supports bluetooth commands so it's not just limited to podcasts
Get it on the Play Store
All feedback is welcome - any issues let me know. Enjoy!
New build is up
Fixed a number of bugs including some visual issues & some issues with the recurring setting. Also stopped the default notification sound going off when the alarm is triggered
New build is up
- Fixed an issue with the time not sticking if the alarm is not set
- Fixed tapping the native android alarm time not launching the app
New build is up on the Play Store (link in OP)
New build is uploading..
- Fixed a couple of minor bugs on older devices
New build is uploading with a few bug fixes...
Any issues let me know
I like the idea of getting up in the morning listening to my favourite podcast. Unfortunately I can't get it to run. The only way I found out was to start playing a song, pause it, set the alarm at 'PodAlarm' and go to sleep. At the alarm time the paused song starts playing again.
But I would like to listen to a freshly downloaded podcast in the morning. My podcast catcher (Pocket Cast) starts downloading a news feature at 5am automatically but they are not played at alarm at 7am.
Am I doing something wrong?

Definitely not doing it wrong, pocket casts is also my podcast app of choose but as you've found it'll only start playing of there's something paused or something in the "up next" queue.. if there's a way to automatically add your new episodes to up next I think that'll work but essentially its a bit of trial & error - this app only sends the Play command to the apps, unfortunately it's down to them how they handle it
I like a clear interface and functionality, though it lacks visual appeal and a few tools offered by the competition.

Alarm 4u is an alarm clock application with many unique features. With Alarm 4u, you won’t have trouble waking up on time or falling back asleep. Choose from one of the waking methods such as shaking the device, solving an equation, or simply sliding a button. Gentle wake up feature wakes you up slowly by increasing the alarm volume and the vibrating frequency. If you want to snooze, you can simply flip your device upside down. If you accidentally fall back asleep after dismissing your alarm, Alarm 4u will check if you are awake in one minute. Choose any picture to be displayed on the alarm waking screen so that you may start your day reminded of the ones you love, family, friends, nature, or a favorite car … You can use the picture as a reminder of what not to forget. When you are adding a new alarm, all you need to do is to set a time. All other settings are copied from your default configuration. Alarm 4u includes many animations, and smooth interaction. You can delete an alarm by simply sliding it out of the screen.
Choose a color to change the application appearance to your liking.
Alarm settings:

Hi
been seatching for a good podcast app. currently using beyondpod because it supports paid subscriptions however the UI is dated and ugly. I tried pocket casts but it doesnt support paid podcasts.
anyone know of good podcast apps?
thanks
I've been using doggcatcher since forever. I'm pretty happy with it but 99% of the time I'm not in the UI, I'm just listening. Its locked into my BT toggle so when I'm on a headset (motorcycle helmet) I just toggle media and the next podcast kicks off).
I love Pocket Casts, it's worth the money!

I gotta say that I'm a big fan of DoggCatcher. It's super flexible, and has about every feature you could want. Having so many features and options makes it hard to produce an elegant UI, but once you've got it set to your liking (i.e. download and keep every episode of podcast A, only the most recent 2 of podcast B, only download when on wifi, etc) you won't have to worry about the UI clutter anymore.
The only feature missing from DoggCatcher is sending video to my Chromecast.
I own BeyondPod, DoggCatcher and Pocket Casts. I've settled on Pocket Casts.
DoggCatcher has a ton of features, but the UI is pretty mediocre. BeyondPod didn't really offer anything that DoggCatcher didn't.
PocketCasts has all the features I want, a great UI, and the best part - cloud syncing. Log in with your user account and you've got all of your podcasts, all of your playlists, and synchronization of your progress for any of the podcasts. So when I go home and drop my phone in my office, I can use my tablet right where I left off.

Yup PocketCasts for sure!

I was a BeyondPod user for years, but got tired of the aging interface. I've been on Pocket Casts since they had their big Holo update and haven't looked back.
Pocket Casts in my opinion is the best. Lots of features and a killer ui

Hello XDA!
My Name is Arthur and i recentaly released a powerfull sleep timer.
Sleep Timer (Music&Screen Off) is a sleep timer for your screen in general, and music in particular.
The app lets you set a timer and when the timer expires, it will sleep the device and turn off any music that is playing.
Putting the device to sleep means that perhaps you fell asleep using an app that keeps your device awake but if a timer is enabled, it will sleep your device and save precious battery.
It works just like a Sleep Timer on TV
Sleep Timer softly lowers the volume and then turns your music off. If you have watched a stream Sleep Timer can also turn your screen off.
Simple design and easy to use
Select how long you want the music or stream to play, press Start and Sleep Timer will appear in the notificationbar.
You can extend the length or cancel the timer directly from the notification message.
Google Play Link
I hope you like it!
Update 1.1.0 is here!
Reworked UI (new animations and functions) based on userfeedback
Support for more musicplayer
Could you please add apk in OP. That would be great. Strike that not really interested, too many permissions for a sleep timer.
From the screenshots app looks awfully similar to Simple sleep timer, [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595326 ]
I mean even your app icon has a similar shadow effect. And, your notification message is an exact replica.
Also, your app is 2.2Mb while Simple sleep timer is only 144K.
So, it is not clear how your app is better.

Please read the description in the google play store. I explained all permissions and why they are necessary.
Like i can't turn your WiFi off if i dont have the permission to do it.
Yes, the timer may look similar because we bouth use a circle seekbar and there are even more apps with circle seekbars and also with shadows in the icon but we are all still very different in our functions. If you just need a "turn off music" and nothing more sleep timer then you should use the Simple Sleep Timer but if you want to turn off your screen and also need more functions then you need someting like this.
You are right, the filesize is too big. I missed to remove some graphics, will correct that in the next update.
Hello xda community,
I am kinda new to Android app programming and would like to present my first Android app to this awesome community.
It's a simple (internet-) radio alarm clock.
Full language support for English and German.
***The app now offers full support for 12 hour system (am/pm)***
Functions:
- one separate alarm per day of week
- vibration on/off
- increasing volume on/off
- snooze duration (5/10/15/30 minutes)
- 16 built-in (international) radio streams
- the user can put in a stream address of his or her favourite radio station, so that everybody can wake up to their fav station's music
- there is a powernapping timer on the main page for one-time alarms (15/30/45/60 minutes)
- a (persistent) notification shows the next alarm time
- in case of having no internet access for whatever reason, the app will play a built-in audio file instead of the chosen stream
When the alarm goes off (the radio starts playing), users can either switch it off, send it to snooze for x minutes or simply deactivate the vibration mode, to keep listening while geetting up and doing their morning stuff.
(* It currently utilizes a 24 hours time picker - i.e.: 13:00 would be 1 p.m. or 20:00 = 8 p.m. for example)
Have a look at it on Google Play Store

(* for a positive play store rating I would be very grateful, too )
(* In case you'd like to try the app (which would be a pleasure to me[!]), please consider using another alarm clock additionally. It's being tested a lot and works reliable for me so far, but it's still under development.)
Greets, Ben
Sounds like a great app. Thanks.
Happy new year to you mate.

Thank you hope you'll like the app. (It just got another small update containing an error fix for Android 8 devices)
Hello xda folks!
I recently put some work into the app and now it supports AM/PM. In earlier versions it only had a 24 hour timepicker which I guess was a bit annoying for the english and spanish world.
Other than that it got some interface improvements and more radio stations to pick from.
(I added some spanish, russian and U.S. stations to make it more appealing to a larger audience)
New screenshots were put to the first post.
I hope some of you will like it and give it a try
Greetings!
Hello everyone, I just developed an app that it's similar to Android Auto , for the people who does not have AA in their cars/motorcycle (you can even use it in bikes), it's still in development, but most of the "biggest" features are completed, I'm still working on this, and I will implement turn by turn navigation inside the app, radar cameras and so on, but it will come with time. I'm offering 30 codes for premium, for people who wants help me test/feedback, I would like to give a lot more but weather/places search api/ and turn by turn navigation are expensive
the app it's free but you can upgrade some features to "premium", if you like the app feel free to get premium or rate the app.
if something it's wrong, please send an email to [email protected] before posting any bad reviews .

Some features:
* Whatsapp/sms/telegram/facebook messenger messaging integration (seems I can't get the photo with telegram),
* Reply messages with voice, mute/unmute messages or all messages
* Music player control: spotify, deezer, google music and more (Others seems does not implement Android Media controls so I can't control them using this api, so for now they are not supported)
* Set as launcher (does not work on Android 10 with gesture navigation due Android restrictions)
* autostart/stop using Bluetooth
* Search inside the app
* Custom apps (customisable in settings)
* "Google maps support", enable in Maps "google maps" and when my app it’s s running it will show the turn by turn navigation (not the route tho), seems working in android 10 perfectly. This could be replaced soon with my turn by turn navigation
* Smart dialer
* Contact list
* Dark mode ready
Todo:
* Turn by turn navigation inside the app
* speed traps (does anyone knows any good api for this¿)
* speed limits
* voice commands (to be honest just launching google assistant could be enough, the new GA shows in a half window.... what do you think?)
* More to come...

Hello. I bought recently a android car player and I installed Auto Zen because Android Auto not work...
Can you give me please 1 promo code for premium? I really like your app
Thanks
So far liking this better than android auto. The only issue I've seen it can't seem to figure out how to remove apps. It shows the trash can on the right bit only allows me to move the application up or down.
Is there a way we can fast forward or rewind 30 seconds in the music app? Playing and skipping to the next track are the only options I see.
@zenthek Would like to test. May I have a promo code?
This looks interesting. I'd be interested in one of the codes.
Hello,maybe a stupid question,but how do I connect to the car?
Unfortunately I can't enable the phone calls option.
Phone is Google Pixel 5, Android 13, build TQ1A.221205.011. Latest version of the app
