Call audio reduces whenever a notification is received. But it doesn't go back to the original volume again. It stays the same. It comes back to normal once the call ends. Hopefully this is fixed in Oreo.

Whenever I attend a phone call or call on messenger app the screen goes off immediately as if I have held the phone against my ear. Then I lose control of the phone completely. I can't put the call on loudspeaker as the screen is off. The screen comes back after a while when the other person on the call ends the call. Or I have to switch off my phone. This happens also when I play an audio file on Whatsapp, the screen goes off and I hear audio from the speaker adjacent to front camera.
My friends having same phone and Android version don't face this problem. I tried rooting my phone, installed a custom ROM AOSP [7.1.1_r12]Nougat for Nexus 5 [N4F26M] but the problem still persists. If anybody knows the FIX or any suggestion please reply.
For some reason, every time I receive a notification in a media-playing app (Spotify, Youtube, etc), I hear the notification sound, which then mutes my media entirely. Even though the video is still playing in the background, there is no sound.
Clicking the volume buttons doesn't bring the volume back, and I have to either exit out of the video and wait several seconds, or exit out of the app and replay the media for it to make sound again.
Everytime I get a notification I hear the sound in the background but it fades out and becomes silent again.
I haven't found anyone encountering this issue, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas? I've done everything short of a factory reset, but I think I might have to do that soon.
Update: If I put the notification sound on silent or vibrate, the problem disappears.
Whenever I pick an incoming call, the callers sound comes through the loud speaker. But when I check the active call window it shows that I am on the normal headunit speaker. I then have to manually toggle between the loudspeaker and then back to the normal earpiece and then it's normal but defaults to the loudspeaker again next time.. I checked all the settings in the phone app and turned the game mode off.. guys help...
Is anybody else facing this issue??
Update: so I think I have found the issue. I have galaxy watch connected to the phone and that's when the call goes to the speaker phone. Thing is it doesn't happen for outgoing call, only incoming call gets routed through the loud speaker.

are you answering via the watch?
in bt settings turn off the settings for media/call control and see if that fixes it
Maybe I am missing something stupid but I am not getting any sound for incoming calls or message notifications. I bought the phone used updated it to the August build. Media sound seems to work I tested a video on YouTube and when I increase the call volume in settings I can hear a sounds but nothing when increasing ring volume or selection different sounds. I also tried to flash lineageos 18.1 with the same issues. Any ideas? Going to try and roll back to earlier stock builds.
Is anyone else encountering low call volume with their galaxy watch 4 classic? I can barely hear the other person when taking calls. I am asking to determine if this is a software issue or a hardware problem that requires replacement.
i have the same problem with my Galaxy Watch 4 (44 mm), very low call volume.
yeah I find it pretty stupid that you can set a default volume for all sorts of stuff (system, bixby, ringtone, etc) but not for calls....
Rotate the bezel during the call! I'm have very loud ...
I noticed this low call volume on the watch 4 speaker also even when my watch call volume is turned up to maximum. Yes, I noticed that if I turn the volume dial down off of max and then turn it back up again during the call the speaker volume does come back louder. But I feel we shouldn't have to do that! It's a bug that should be fixed! I hope they fix this bug.
I am having the same problem. I noticed if I make an outgoing call the receive volume is OK. I call voicemail every morning but hope it get fixed soon.
