Possible to activate onscreen navbar? - HTC U11 Life Questions & Answers

Hi,
is it possible to activate onscreen navigation buttons instead of the hardware keys through the stock firmware? If not: do you know another solution to get the onscreen navbar?

Add this line to build.prop
And reboot
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Try that should definitely work.

Ah that sucks then but you know that you can make a screenshot with power+home button right? Or to use the swipe with the hand feature if you have that turned on.

Navbar Removal

So it seems if you modify the boot.img and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to the default.prop it disabled the Navbar! I'll post updated boot images in the boot images thread.
False alarm, the navbar is gone but when you lock and unlock the screen again you get the black screen.

How the devs of KangVip Rom manage to get no nabvar? Also that is a option in the original Chinese Rom, or not? Maybe looking to their build.prop would help? :good:

We should try to reach him and make him a xda member. Maybe someone who speaks Chinese could help us contact him and ask for cooperation.

It just hides it temporarily until you swipe up. I was taking about completely removing it so that it's completely gone.

Maybe reverse engineering is rom helps... It's like you said I hate when people don't share their breakthroughs. Android is open source why people do this?

What rom do you have now? I've been on c432b138 and investigated about hiding navbar, but I did that it is completely gone. It is not result what I've waited. I need temporary method.
You can actually hide the navigation bar without root on the Huawei Mate 9 using a simple ADB command. I didn't know you guys were interested in this - I can write up a quick tutorial.

I know how to hide it with the adb command but I'm trying to completely remove (disable) it so I can use LMT Launcher. qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 causes the phone to boot to a black screen, it's a bug in EMUI 5. In KangVIP there's an option to remove it but I can't find out a way to remove (disable) it running a stock rom.

I don't think we're talking about the same ADB command. I'm not talking about immersive mode. The one I'm talking about completely hides (only) the navigation bar. It's an ADB command unique to the Mate 9 (possibly EMUI 5.0 but I don't have another Huawei device to verify).

Can you PM me or give me the command? I'd love to get rid of the thing. It's the last thing on my list to do that will make me want to keep the phone.

Obviously, because you've disabled the cause(nav bar) itself.

I'm on official LOS and Snapchat seems to work now for me. What I did was the following: Settings -Display - Expanded Desktop - choose Snapchat and select "Hide both". There you go.

Help!! OnePlus 2 hardware keys are not working!

Problem begins from Resurrection remix
June build 2017
I was enjoying the latest RR june build rom and was working fine with no bugs at all. Than i added my fingerprint and used it with it. I wanted to Flash AOSP extended rom June build, so i disabled finger print lock but finger print was saved in the device. I flashed(first time dirty flashed after facing problems tried clean flashed )AOSP Extended June build on the device. Than After flashing, All my(navigation keys only) hardware keys stopped working and was ghost touching automatically with vibration. So somehow i managed to fix it by using software only keys.
If i install any lollipop huilds, hardware keys are working again but home button can't seem to work ,nor the fingerprint scanner.
Conclusion : hardware keys (finger print scanner, back and recent keys) Can't seem to work and I don't think it's hardware problem.
Need a Fix ASAP!:crying: Glad , if Any one could help. Highly Appreciated.
Thanks for the time and consideration.

You need to post your issue in the ROM thread, that's what the thread is for. The developer of the ROM and the other experienced members there would give you much better answers.

I found video of OnePlus 2 teardown and i watched and i got idea while watching why not i should tear my phone and unplug hardware keys and it works now i can flash any roms without any ghost touches but sadly ican only use on screen keys not hw keys ...very soon im going to buy hardware keys and home button.

How to get pill navigation bar on open beta 2?

Oneplus removed the pill navigation bar on android 10 update. Is there any way to get it back ? Like with the help of some ADB stuff?
