802.11r support - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have and OPO with Resurrection Remix 5.8.5.
Is there a way to enable 802.11r? I seriously need it
Thanks

No one interested? For me there is no problem changing the rom, the main priority is the 802.11r capability

If i'm not mistaken only apple phone support 802.11r also known as Wifi Roaming...in Android there one setting that can be use but not sure if its good for battery life...in developer option, enable "Always allow Wifi Roam Scans"....

As info in case someone pass here, all Galaxy S (since S6) and Note also supports it. It's not specific to iPhone...

AICP Rom Wireless screen mirroring problem

I was trying AICP 8.0 (5.0.2) for the galaxy s3 i9305 . suddenly i found that there was a new option related to detect wireless capable devices to screen mirroring . I have an ezcast and it detected the ezcast. then i got to screen mirror phone to the tv. but the image only lasted 1 second then it froze. then i installed AICP 9.0 (5.1) and the option wasnt there anymore. They suggested me to contact AICP dev and CM dev but i dont know how to contact then or if they can read this could they please consider to add the option again and make it work? that's all i've been expecting from a custom rom , and the reason why i've been moving back and ford between stock roms and custom roms no TW based. can someone find the way to contact the devs ? im kind of new in XDA matters
I have aicp 10 on my note 3. Go to settings>display>cast screen. Or at the WiFi on or off toggle button, tap next to it. There will be a mini menu. Tap advanced. There will be a button for WiFi direct.
Also, mirroring dongles are notoriously unresponsive to custom ROMs. I have found that is not the case with Google's chromecast. That one has the downfall (if getting around tether issue) of insisting to be internet connected to work.
Hope that info helps

Wi-Fi calling - HELP

I recently got a Xiaomi Mi5, the stock ROM does not support Wi-Fi calling, so I needed to flash it since I work in a basement...
I now have Resurrection Remix installed, and Wi-Fi calling is available and toggled on, but it does not actually work!
I know it is enable on my sim because I have been using the feature for a year on an iphone... and the provider confirmed they did not lock anything up or needed to reset anything.
Any ideas out there?
I can't think of any way to even debug this issue, apart form flashing to different ROMs, but that takes a while and I like RR.
Thanks

Google Fi/Project Fi

Hi All,
It is my request that if you have not tried this or witnessed it first hand, do not reply. I've siphoned through entirely too many threads with those quick to respond no only to have the "no" be proven wrong within the same thread.
That being said: Project Fi
Officially only supported on several devices. The biggest feature lost to those who do not use a supported device is the ability to switch between networks. While I'm still on the fence with rooting my S9 (assuming I'll have to), one thread I found with several confirmations seemed a bit promising to keep the roaming feature.
Editing build.prop to reflect a Pixel 2 allows the device to be activated. While several individuals confirmed this works to activate, none have confirmed whether the roaming feature works as well. Theoretically, it should. Others have lost this feature because the IMEI of the 'surrogate' phone is whats being registered. Makes sense since Sprint (and I believe US Cellular as well) is like Verizon in that they register the device vs the sim (Of course more complex than that, just typing through the logic).
Therefore, if editing the build.prop allows you to activate Google Fi then theoretically the IMEI of said device should also be registered and should work. I'm looking for confirmation on this. There's also a big question about the ability to edit build.prop without rooting and implications on KNOX, Samsung Pay, etc which is why I'm hesitating. Just looking for this first bit of information first.

Are you talking in terms of just activating service? if so, i have a vzw s9+ and i switched to fi, just flashed to xaa and popped in the fi sim. no problems.

I read here on XDA that Google Fi would be able to be activated on other devices and I'm almost positive the S9/9+ were included. You wouldn't need to edit build.prop or anything. You wouldn't get automatic network switching though since that's a hardware / firmware thing from what I remember reading. The service itself would work and you wouldn't need a surrogate phone to make it work initially.
Whether that's live or not yet I don't know. Rooting any Samsung device past the S4 or S5 I believe trips Knox permanently. That's also assuming you don't have a u965 / u960 device, which can't be unlocked / rooted.
Edit: appears to be love for the "majority of Android phones". https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...BBAB&usg=AOvVaw0Yb-mP_-PqDTtcLG7TWkwM&ampcf=1

Sony Xperia 5 Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE???

Hi.
I've been looking for posts related to this theme, but unfortunately I haven't found anything concrete.
If I dial the code *#*#‪4636‬#*#* It turns out that Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE are turned off and cannot be activated.
I mention, that the operator supports these services, because before, on previous phones, it worked perfectly.
Is there another possibility of activation?
I'm particularly interested in Wi-Fi Calling.
I really want to stay on stock, no custom rom.
I'd be totally grateful if you could help me.
Thank you in advance.
Anybody?
Fairly certain it needs to be provisioned by the carrier

I'm also interested in Volte. Have you had a way to enable it? Quite a rude awakening for me that the phone doesn't readily come with the Sync toggle and the Volte option. I used to use all those and more, on the Samsung Note 10. Xperia 5 is a downgrade for me.

I have VOLTE (and WiFi calling)... It's a network provision: it's not a phone setting if it's not available from your network.

I had Volte on Samsung Note 10 with the same sim I use in Xperia 5. Just baffled why it isn't available on my phone but I suspect its a regional firmware related issue.
How to Enable Volte and 5G Without Permanent Root on Xperia 5 III and 1 III
First of all, Thanks to @johndaniel, @htcmage, @gorEisberg @Forbesii @morphvale @arjun_m4 for sharing all the information and files required for this guide. FIRST THING FIRST: Data is priceless. Always backup before you modify your phone...

Advanced Hotspot options & Always-on-display

Can anyone tell me if the OnePlus 8 global version has advanced settings for hotspot. Things such as channel selection or maximum number of connected devices. The T-Mobile version does not.
Also the T-Mobile version disables the always on display option. Does the global version allow always on display?
Is there any other way to get these functions back without reflashing to global ROM?
Thanks
Ok, let me put this another way..... Can someone with a OnePlus 8 with Global Rom check their phone and tell me if they have the option for "always-on-display" (clock and notifications on lock screen) and also if they have "advanced options" in hotspot settings? Thanks!!
I have OnePlus 8, Oxygen OS 11.0.10.10 IN21AA. There is a Connected device manager at Hotspot & tethering. Is that what you mean?

Thanks for checking. No, not that. I've attached a pic of what I'm looking for. It's "advanced" under hotspot settings. I have it on my Samsung A71 5g.
Oh, I understand. Unfortunately, I won't be able to help you because I don't have Samsung, only OnePlus 8.
It is a question of Android overlays, OnePlus 8 has Oxygen OS and Samsung One UI. Try to ask here:

Certainly someone will help you,
Good luck!

He has such...

Thanks. Looks like it doesn't have channel selection which is what I need.
