Metro PCS - NO SIGNAL - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

I got this phone for my dad off swappa.
When he puts the sim card into the phone, it shows Metro PCS (t-mobile on the cheap) and after about 5 min it says "Emergency Calls Only" and has no signal.
Is there something that needs to be done? The sim card works in his other unlocked phone fine.
Attached is a photo.

Have you called Metro PCS or talked to T Mobile yet? Sometimes they can do settings or carrier specific changes that might help. I popped my TMo Sim in a d it's worked fine since.

I found the issue. MetroPCS locks imei to sim. So his old phone was the only imei registered to be used with that sim card. You have to call and swap phones and they lock the new imei to the Sim card.

Adding Verizon to Network Operators?

I unlocked my MyTouch 4g (Glacier) and I want to use my Verizon sim card in it but it does not detect Verizon in the network operators. How do I get verizon on there? Is it possible? I thought unlocking it would allow me to do this.

Verizon does not use 'SIM' cards
as 'SIM' cards are used for GSM networks and Verizon is a CDMA provider

I did google this extensively. The phone that I have here is on the verizon network and has a sim card. Why would I make that up?

Verizon is a CDMA network. The SIM card is there because the phone you have also has a GSM radio for traveling overseas. However, just because it says "Verizon" on the SIM card doesn't mean your phone connects to Verizon when you roam. It's actually connecting to Vodafone when you're roaming in most countries. That's what the SIM card slot is for. Now if you unlocked that phone, you could use it on T-Mobile or AT&T if you set it to GSM Mode.
That Verizon phone will work in the US and Canada whether or not that SIM card is in there. It's impossible to get a GSM phone (your MyTouch 4G) to work on a CDMA network (Verizon).

Sim detection slot 1 , Indian version E8

Hello Everyone,
I am facing this weird issue. Mine is a dual sim E8 and I was using Airtel provider on my sim slot 1.
The moment I landed in US and when I powered on the mobile, it was showing no signal . Till this moment I havn't changed or removed any sim card. The settings are still untouched and even the sim tray has not been removed ,airtel sim in slot one and no sim in slot 2. Later I changed the setting to manual mode , I saw a pop up displaying sim card error and "unable to find network, switch to global mode"
Then i moved the Airtel sim to slot 2 with slot one empty. It asked me to select Tmobile or ATT as partner network. I went with Tmobile as roaming partner.
I wanted a dual sim , as I was hoping to use Tmobile/ AT&T sim on slot one and keep Airtel sim on slot 2 when I reach USA.
Later , I brought a Tmobile sim and put it in slot one, same old error pop up, but it worked in slot 2 ( Edge )
I reached HTC chat , its the most horrible experience i have ever had. The moment i tell them my issue, chat window loses connection as if someone has disconnected.
Finally when I did get connect , by checking my IMEI, chat representative told me that slot one wont work for roaming as its CDMA, only slot 2 works for roaming.
I just couldnt understand this, I was using airtel GSM sim in India with 2G internet. how come an unlocked device change to cdma while roaming outside India.
Please let me know how to work on sim slot one issue. I love this mobile a lot , even if i get 2G on slot one , i will be very happy
Mobile is in stock condition purchased 2 months back, I received a factory update to 5.0 through OTA

Possible to use GSM service on D820 which already activated my Sprint?

I put Tmobil SIM and used without any problem more than years.
A few months ago, I activated this phone on Sprint and still using it.
I tried to remove Sprint SIM card and insert activated Tmobile SIM card from my backup phone,
but seems like Tmobile doesn't work.
To use GSM service, do I need to deactivate CDMA service first?
I checked setting in my android, but cannot see CDMA/GSM convert option.
I am using stock android 6.0 right now.
In the wireless&networks -> more -> cellular networks, I changed all other settings, but still GSM not working.
Must cancel the CDMA service to use GSM service?
Or did I miss some point?

Using Sprint Phone with T-Mobile with no Success

Hello,
I have called Sprint many times, after they keep telling me it is unlocked domestically and internationally, I finally gave up. The phone simply says to contact sprint to unlock. I have no idea what to do. When I press UCCI Unlock it gives me an internal error(407). I tried flashing unlocked firmware (U1) But it does not work on that either. Tried booting up with T-Mobile sim inside, still same result. What to do?
Please help!
Is Sprint GSM? I thought it was CDMA.
T-Mobile is GSM.
What is the message your phone displays when inserting the T-Mobile SIM card?
As you know, Sprint is a CDMA network and T-Mobile is a GSM network, but the S8 supports both types. but you need to make sure the SIMs are both activated and the phone doesn't asking for an unlocking code.
Also, check if your phone's IMEI is clean in sprint database http://imeipro.info/sprint_imei_check.html

T-Mobile Sim No Signal(Other sims work)

Recently revived my N5 that had been sitting around due to my N6P showing some water problems in case I needed to switch phones quickly.
Well, after resetting and installing AOSP Extended, I put my T-Mobile sim in, and gets no signal. It will recognize a sim is in, but I get no service at all. I figured something could be wrong with the simreader, so I tried some other sims. Sprint sim and a Freedompop(AT&T) sim both work. I know my T-Mobile sim works, as I'm currently using it in my 6p. Anyone have any solution?
freedompop uses at&t for GSM devices and sprint for CMDA devices. it sounds like your phone is the CMDA version, and your using the sprint network with freedompop. T-mobile is a GSM network and will not work with CMDA phones.
