With the official Orea realease more or less just around the corner, I am wondering how to get get it updated while I am on a beta version.
I read some comments, that it would be necessary to downgread to Android 7 prior to a possible update?
Did anybody [email protected] tester with the China-Model - received the release version directly on the beta or did you downgrade first?
Thx for your reply!

Hiya I'm also on beta test in UK I spoke to hauwei via live chat and we will need to rollback to nougat, the roll back will be able to be requested via the beta app, when it's available.on a sad note I enquired about pc mode its limited to mate 10.
Actually I know at least one person who received update with Oreo 334 being on Oreo 330. I guess no rollback is needed.
Huawei just sent me an email that mate 9 will receive pc mode. Crazy ,we will see.
Don't think they know their bum from their elbow at the moment lol.As you said we'll see
Type of cable needed for Mate 9 pc mode

That's great news. Did they indicate what type of cable you will need? A standard USB C to USB A, or USB C to USB C, or USB C to HDMI? Or will it depend on the monitor it's plugged into?
Thanks!
It would be stupid to have to downgrade then upgrade again.. Its just an update so i dont think anyone has to worry about this..
On my Honor 7, the update came without downgrade via OTA. Hope this will be the same for Mate 9 too!
(Hope, this rumor was a fake news! Or did HUAWEI try to punish unregistered upgrades???)

Hey guys, so a friend of mine has a One Plus 3 but he didn't recived the update yet. So he utilized a vpn to connect to servers from Canada and UK and he got the update.
Has some one claimed that he got the update from sweden, if there are any possibility to connect to another area to look for that update. Specially in sweden

Sadly that won't work unless you have a device from that region or you're running the previous firmware from that region. The OP3 isn't region specific, so he can get the update from any region. The Honor 8 though has various models for each region of the world. (L04/L14 US, L09 EU, etc)

Ohh I see, thanks for responding. That is sad tho :/
You shouldn't need to connect to the device OEM's server via a VPN in order to get updates for your device. As OTA OS updates are sent to each device dependent on their model number and the regional OS settings.
if you know the update version just download it online and manually install it?

I read the thread but I'm out of luck cuz I don't have wifi no router near me. To complicated to do that.

I don't know why everybody is in such a hurry to upgrade their OS from Marshmallow to Nougat. When Nougat is only available for a handful of devices at the moment. The majority of the other Nougat release are still in the Beta cycle and have numerous bugs that have yet to be addressed yet.

Just wait till you notice that allot of features that were in Marshmallow are missing in the Nougat Beta. While the performance maybe slightly better than Marshmallow. Nougat still isn't ready for retail use on the Honor 8 yet.

All essential features are here. Getting 5 to 6 sot.
I haven't faced a single issue. Plus I'm not a guy for complaining about features. I buyer the Honor 8 because of speed. And that's what I'm getting.

It's because the Nougat on this phone means EMUI 5 and it's 10x better than EMUI 4.1 .. trust me
it's a much better phone on Nougat EMUI5 ( Even Beta) BTW I think the current B360 for the L04 is the final Beta.
It will go live in the next 4 or 5 weeks. (Huawei is really slow)

B360 is definitely a fully functional build. I have yet to find anything broken and it even includes Vulkan api. As said above, EMUI 5.0 is miles ahead of EMUI 4.1. It's a much better and cleaner looking UI.

AH! I forgot that the new version of EMUI is better than the current version. It's the same with most android device OEMs.

Hi all,
I'm from the UK and have the Honor 8, was wondering when I might be receving the Android 7.0/Nougat update?
Reason being, I've bought the phone and don't want to start using it until the update is installed, I liked the look of the Beta ect..
Maybe there is a way to update it manually? My phone is stock btw.
Cheers.
Depending on the variant of the Honor 8 you have, the update should be rolling out shortly. If you're eager to update your phone however, there are various methods available that should allow you to update your phone to Nougat; just do a quick look through of the other subforums for the Honor 8and you'll find your answer.

Look at this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/debrand-frd-al00-to-frd-l09-update-to-t3552445
Just skip root/debranding part. Charles method works seamlessly...
No I'm running N in FRD-L09 and it works great. It's really stable and EMUI5 is just amazing.
Good day all I have two Honor 8s both with UK B131 firmware. Been checking updates for Android 7 but not luck.
So I updated my Huawei ID software to 2.4.1.304_OVE one one deviceand then checked for firmware update of my OS and low and behold the new update is there. 2.38GB and downloaded.
I check once again with my other device which l had not updated the Huawei ID, each time I checked for new OS it came back No Update.. So I once again updated my Huawei ID to the one above once installed I checked for new updated. The new update was there did the download and installed reboot and it's all good to go...
So give it a try if you still not seeing new update each time you try..
??
Now to try out the Twin app...
Things I have notice that has been fixed in Android 7
World clock now list County and city for La Réunion - Saint-Denis. Had to use Mauritius settings in the past.
Glad to hear that. Can you provide screenshot of baseband version, security patch level date and kernel version?
Thanks in advance!
PS: Huawei ID update available here too, FRD- L09

No its not from play store. Go to the Huawei ID once open in the menu Check for updates.. This is what I did and it will show the new Huawei ID update and just download and install no need for reboot.. There after checking check for New OS..
Just a address note I have since done this to two more Honor 8s (4 now) and they all update to. Android 7 this way.. Maybe there is a trigger in the new Huawei ID software?

Side Note
Twin app when used with Whatsapp is a must for dual sim devices and it works with no lag on the phone.. All default OS settings and firmware
I got my Honor ID update but no OS update here.
I'm in the UK maybe it will turn up later

@fnudaniel83, i'm still on the software from the 18.01.2017. I will wait before update, because from 7am to 20 pm i have 6 hrs SOT and 40℅ battery left at my usage. The phone is very responsive and fast. I mean i am very, very glad.
My posts in all the topics, related to the Android 7.0 are provoked by the same questions as yours- is there any real differences in versions, or Huawei are shocked by themselves and they dont know what they doing? [emoji23] [emoji23]

Yeah I'm currently on the current frd-L04c567b60 Android 7 date 03.01.2017 updated via firmware finder. I'm having issues with Bluetooth won't connect to my car system, so I'm hoping there's a new update that will fix that.
Hi
Till 389 Honor was releasing new firmware almost every week or two.
Now after 389 Firmware Finder can't find anything newer.
Do You think this means end of the line, or they work on something big ?

Nothing sure for now. They're working on it.
We are not sure about it. But probably no........ ?
Never say never  I have seen anything from yes we are to no we are not. So really it is all just speculation. If they want to keep customers happy they better live up to their two-year update quota that they said they would do.
There is no official info yet. But in my opinion there will be update, but later. They will have to test and debug Oreo on announced devices first.
I believe there will be an update as well :victory: I mean even the Moto g4 is getting it ?
It has not been confirmed yet. They will need to test it out and do debugging, etc. So we just need to wait.
