Who here is rooted and who here is not.? Are there any real benefits to being rooted on this phone.? Does anyone get late push notifications? If you do, is there anyway to fix them.

I had an OTA update available this morning. It's only 51.3 MB so it can't be anything major. Maybe a stagefright fix? Anyway, I pulled it just in case anyone wants to check it out. I'm already on D80130B. I'm rooted with TWRP. Is there any easy way to install it without losing TWRP?
Here's the link for it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ast6zoe514ikjk/update.zip?dl=0
Is it 878 TMO/T-MOBILE(USA) V30c?
D80130c_00.kdz is 1.05 GiB as usual.

I thought stagefright fix too so I let it go for the heck of it. It installed fine and I didn't seem to lose root or anything. I ran a stagefright test and only 2 are blocked which I think is what it told me a couple months ago. I didn't see any obvious changes.

Do you have a custom recovery? I tried flashing it in TWRP but it failed.

I do. I just ran it right from my running phone. I was in the middle of some work so I wasn't watching it but as far as I know it installed fine. If I check for updates now it says there are none, up to date.
Just tried to install the OTA (51.3 MB).
Phone rebooted, tried to install it and showed error.
Have to hold power button quite sometime to reboot the phone.

Sorry, I was wrong about mine getting installed. Like I said was busy with work so I kinda assumed it all went though fine. Still no idea what this is?

Once it went through for somebody, he can tell us!
I noticed that it fixed all but one stage fright vulnerability.
I also just realized that it patched many of the current root solutions.

Oh really? So you lost root then?
I just switched to TMO and got a refurb LG G2 a couple of weeks ago. I stupidly took the OTA before rooting and then realized that many of the root exploits didn't work afterwards. Thanks to the brilliant devs at XDA, I did find a method that works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
I'm a happy camper running CM 12.1 now!
I am half tempted to unroot using SuperSU unroot tool, see if I can apply the patch and see what happens... or has anyone tried this yet?

I'm not sure that would work. Being rooted doesn't usually prevent the manual installation of updates. The problem is whether or not you have a custom recovery. I believe the OTA needs the stock recovery to install.
so.. anybody found solution how to install?

Hello
Here is the Update for Dual Speaker Mod for S8/S8+.
Nougat Version of Mod won't work on Android Oreo.
Here below you find the Updated mod for Android Oreo.
Tested and Works on S8/S8+ (Exenos) Android 8.0. 100% Works
Not yet tested on SD Variant.
Download Zip file below and flash it via TWRP recovery .
Also Upload Root Browser Method....
Just Extract Root Browser Method.rar and copy the files to System/etc and change permission and reboot
Remove Mod Added. You just back to Stock anytime. Just flash it via TWRP
I unfortunately installed the Nouget version on and Oreo ROM, and now I'm in bootloop! Any idea how to get out of it?
Works fine. Headphones sounds good, no changes there. I flashed via TWRP and that's it...
Thank you!
You should make a remove method...I know, maybe someone wants to remove this mod without reset.
Keep going and good luck!

Hi, thanks for the stereo speaker mod, it works very well on android 8.
I'm wondering if Is it to possible to let the user change the balance between the top and the bottom speakers ?
Should i concern about earpiece i mean will this cause any damage to earpiece as it wasnt intentionally designed for this purpose by samsung.
After install this mod, i have experienced problems with Netflix app. Like inifite loading or error 5.2. How can i solve this problems? thanks
Edit: this error happen everytime, i can't use the app.
Edit²: I have the solution, just go to /system/liboencrypto.so and change to liboencrypto.so.bak - i recommend to use ES Explorer and turn on the root mode.

hello to all of you,
So i know there are probably many threads about this, but i just cant get my xz premium rooted. i've been trying for a while now.
Last time i rooted a phone was in the windows mobile 6 time lol.
So i tried to unlock the bootloader with the official sony guide on their site bit it didnt work.
i tried some apps like kingroot and oneclickroot but i quickly found that kingroot only gets adware on my phone and oneclickroot is payed and hell i aint paying for nothing.
I tried some manual methods but also these i cant get to work.
So is there any simple thread on how to root my xz premium ?
side note:
my volume up button is broken but i still got it into fastboot so i got this far.
thanks in advantage.
So now my kbc bank app says my phone is rooted and i can not use it anymore while my phone isnt rooted

See this thread - clearing data for Google One app seems to temporarily fix it for some folks, but it stops working again soon after.
google can detect if you are rooted and have a unlocked bootloader, the vpn will only work with a locked bootloader on stock. it didnt work when i was on a custom rom or rooted on stock. hope that helps this is only my opinion tho from my own research.

While it may be true that they can detect a unlocked bootloader and a rooted device. They are Google! As they can probably detect pretty much anything and everything you do on a "Google device". Even while using a Google VPN to block it lol. For now though, they do allow us and tell you exactly how to unlock the bootloader and very easily I might add "Thankfully" and they don't punish you for it. Yey. I've heard it was a Google 1 issue and not an end user issue. VPN worked perfectly fine for me on the November and December firmware builds while being on stock, unlocked bootloader, rooted and running Kiri kernel and I used it quite frequently. Once I updated to the January build it quit working and I was hopeful that the February build fixed it. Still we all face the same "VPN is disabled" problem. I did just send a help ticket to Google 1 about the VPN not working issue. Curious as to what they have to say about it, not working for us Pixel users in the last 2 builds. I'll post their reply when I get one back.
