I want to modify system file of rom to remove some apks like WPS Office etc before flashing it on my mobile (Qmobile LT700 1gb Mediatek MT6735) but i can't open it, view it, or modify it. It has a file type named "file" , please tell me how to access it's content. And also i want it to be back in it's form ("file" form) so that flashing process can go smoothly.
Thanx in advance

How to... copy/move files stored in a Smartphone ROM?

I can't copy or move files stored in device ROM.
I've tried with Resco Explorer and Total Commander, but without success.
I didn't understand if there's a registry hack that allows these operations.
I've notice (or so it seemed to me) that I was able to substitute/copy/move some files having the ROM attribute, but many others not (eg: I've tried to copy the nleddrvr_sec.dll, obviously without success, otherwise I'd post this here!).
Surfing in many forums, I read many others asking for the same thing, unfortunately I haven't seen answers to their question about this.
Hope someone explains to me how to do or why is impossible to do.

You can not copy / move / delete files in ROM. Thats the point of "Read Only Memory"
These files are not stored as individual files but are in fact packed in a special way as part of the device image which can only be written (flashed) by special tools.
If you want to extract OS files you need to use a ROM dump tool.
I suggest you look in the WiKi.
What you can do is overwrite one or more "ROM files". What will happen in reality is that a copy of the file with the same name will be placed in storage memory and the system will go there. If you hard reset your device or rename the file it will go back to the original file.

As you said here and here (Changing Files in Windows Dir )
it's impossible to move/copy ROM files, just overwrite 'em.
Doing so the system looking for these overwritten copies.
So now the question are:
- there's a registry entry that points to this substitute ROM files?
- to modify an existent file resident in ROM I MUST dump my ROM or another one same or similar?
Mersì bo q, anyway.

Find Bluestacks SD Card Location in Your PC

Q. Whats Bluestacks?
A. Bluestacks is a Silicon Valley-based software company that produces BlueStacks App Player and BlueStacks Cloud Connect. Both products revolve around enabling Android applications to run on Windows PCs, Macintosh computers and Windows tablets. The company was founded in 2009 by Rosen Sharma, former CTO at McAfee and board member of Cloud.com.
Steps To Find SD Card in your PC
First Download 'Root Explorer' (Included Below) and Install 'Root Explorer' in Bluestacks
Decide on which directory to give access in BlueStacks. You can either choose an entire hard drive, or a particular folder of your choice.
Access the Windows Registry by going to Start >> Run and type in 'regedit' and hit Enter. This opens up the Registry Editor.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\Guests\Android\ SharedFolder\0.
Right Click on 'Path' and click on 'Modify'.
Write the path of the folder which you want to include in SD card. (Example C:\SDCard)
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
You can find the folder at '(Root)/sdcard/bstfolder/ BstSharedFolder/'
Note
If u don't wanna change your Registry, You can simply copy and paste the file's that you want in SD Card at 'C:\ProgramData\BlueStacks\UserData\SharedFolder\' and find the files at above location in Root Explorer (ie '(Root)/sdcard/bstfolder/ BstSharedFolder/').
PLEASE CLICK ON THANKS,,

YEAH! Finally found it again! Thanks mate
Has anyone noticed that this shared folder has limited functionality when trying to transfer files from Bluestacks to the PC? It seems like if I try to copy something larger than ~300 megabytes Bluestacks will freeze up. Titanium backup is also unable to successfully use that shared folder as a backup location (also freezes up). I'm trying to find a good way to sync my app data (or at least transfer the Titanium Backup backups to my PC). Any ideas?
How to copy file from window to Bluestack or Bluestack to window
1) download and intall root explorer on your phone
2) go from your computer
3) My Documents/Downloads and paste there any files
4) now open root explorer n go to this path: sdcard/windows/documents/downloads
5) you will find your file under "Downloads"
so the folder "Downloads" is the only path through which files can be transferred between window(computer) and bluestack..
i cant find the iserdata folder in c:/programefiles/bluestacks

[Q] IMEI has gone after wipe

Hello, I have a jiayu G3T ( G3QCT ) with JB Android 4.2.1 installed , but yesterday it occurred to me to look for a custom rom 4.2.2 , I downloaded the rom, and follow the instructions ( wipe data / factory reset wipe cache && && wipe dalvik ) then install the new rom, everything seems to be right , but when the phone rebooted , I noticed that said " INVALID IMEI " and did not detect the SIM card ...
I have no backup of the IMEI ( if I have the sticker underneath the battery)
I reinstalled the rom I had before jiayu , which comes standard rooted ,I have tried uncle tools and the application of jiayu , I entered the engineer mode so I went to connectivity CDS information Radio information, phone 1 & 2 wrote 2 lines (one for each option )
AT + EGMR = 1.7, " IMEI "
AT + EGMR = 1.10 , " IMEI "
but when you click on send command says " command failed to send, even after pressing repeatedly says " command was mSent " but on reboot, nothing has changed, and the IMEI is still not valid .
I tried the mtkdroidtools but says it was all right , the result is the same, nothing changes
I also tested the MAUI META 3G & IMEI and SN WRITER but I have not gotten any results ...
Someone could tell me how to fix it? thanks
I'd suggest you re flash stock rom using SP Tools, then use SN Gen to create a MP0B_001 file. Then place the generated file on your SD card, use root explorer, copy the file you have placed on the SD card and move it to /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/, and set the file's permission to rw-rw----.
Then reboot and enjoy.
stock rom
and where i cant get that stock rom? could you link it to me?

I see that the website is in Spanish, so I may interpret the files incorrectly.
I'm gonna presume that you have already downloaded and installed the required MTK VCOM Drivers, and the device's drivers which are also given on the website. Install both if you haven't already.
I see there is a scatter loading file present under the downloads. Download the scatter loading and the latest ROM. Extract both the ROM files and the Scatter Loading file to a same single folder. Then use SPFlashtool and select the scatter loading file from the extracted folder, and check ALL the boxes.
Then remove the battery from your phone, connect the phone to the PC, and click "Download" on SP Flash Tool. After it finishes, you should see a box with a green circle, which indicates the flashing was successful.
After that, put the MP0B_001 file on your SD card, and follow the steps given by me on post #2.
And don't forget to hit thanks if I have helped. =]

They want to just rip money off you.. All MTK devices have only that one way of restoring device's IEMI which I have listed above., as far as I know.
You can try doing the following (This is just speculation, I have never tried this but it MAY work, as a MP0B_001 file and a backup generated by Mobileuncle MTK tools have the same output when opened via a text editor.)-
After generating an IEMI file, open it using Notepad. Then copy everything written in it, make a new notepad file and paste it there. Save that file as "IEMI.bak" file, and put that in your sd card.
Then install Mobileuncle MTK tools from Play Store, give it root access and go to IEMI backup/restore option. You should find your saved backup there. Hit restore from SD card, and pray that it works.
If it doesn't work, then I'm sorry. Send the phone over to your manufacturer if all else fails.

[Q] How do you open a .backup android file in PC ?

I would like to know how to open a .backup file I created the back up through the
Android's advanced startup mode by pressing and holding
the power button and volume button and then
chose the option of backing up user information which was then saved in my Android device's SD card. I would like to now open the file and extract the contacts and the text messages.
Thank you in advance.

What device? Make, model, android version, rooted, rom'd...
Depends on the file, likely it's just a image file like a .img or .iso and can be burned to cd
or mounted to a flash (thumb) drive with something like UNetBootin for Windows
The phone is a Thl 5000, with android 4.4.2(official rom), root. The file extension is .backup, not .img.

.backup is a file extension often used in situations where you need to create a backup, so it IS a file similar to .img
You should be able to see how it works when you can either expand it oder you can open it over the command prompt.
In either way it's not certain that you are going to find contacts (and other files) like you're expecting to.
It's possible that the contacts are stored in a simple text-file.

Add APK - repack system.img

I was looking for a similar topic but I did not find one. Refers to problems with running applications added to "system.img".
I bought UMIDIG S for my father-in-law. It is based on a mediatec chipset. Unfortunately, soft is tragic, and there is no full translation, so I decided to bury it a bit in "system.img".
I can easily install the file in Linux and make changes in it. I can delete applications, I can make changes in configuration files and "buikd.prop".
Unfortunately, all APK files were uploaded to "system.img" even though I set permissions 755 for directories, and 644 for directories. Although the files are root: root, after uploading such "system.img" none of these applications works for the phone. The system sees them and tries to load. Unfortunately, applications hang because of errors. The system informs that the application hangs, and does not load its window. The icons of these applications and the names do not appear either (applications have green robocik as icon, and domain name, e.g. com.android.clock ....)
I am asking for advice. How to add APK files to the unzipped "system.img" so that after packing and uploading to the phone there were no errors ???
Do you have found how add app in system.img?
It's all around, but you can replace apps with others. In the linux system, unpack the img, and mount them. Then you can freely rename files as well as move files within the .img mount point
I chose the applications or other files I did not need, and moved them to the directories (which I named my applications). If the application needed libraries, you also had to get files in a similar way, and place them in arm or arm64 directories.
Then prepared files "stuffed" with data, using the command DD. That is, dd if = (source file) of = (the recipient file at the system.img mount point).
Thanks for reply, so this only on Linux? For Windows there is something?

I do not know, I do not use Windows. Certainly you can in a similar way from BSD systems, probably from Android and MacOS. I read something that Microsoft can somehow support linux shell, but I do not know the details. You can always use some distribution that works with a pendrive.
Thanks, I will try again

You can use Virtual Box to run a Linux distro inside Windows or you can try using Cygwin.
