Galaxy S8+ Complete Stock Android? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Is it possible? I'd like to have the os be exactly like the pixel 2. It's just so much more clean and feels better. Is it possible to do this? I figure I'd have to root and flash it I'm just wondering if it's actually possible and which root method and ROM should I use?

This is about as close as you can come >https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/stock-android-feel-root-tweaks-t3613543

There's lineage os here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-unofficial-lineageos-14-1-galaxy-s8-t3684398
But at the moment there's some fatal flaws such as no call audio. We're still waiting on bug fixes. This is the closest to AOSP you can get.

Advice Please regarding Marshmallow on Note 3

Hello.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 currently running the Vodafone official Lollipop ROM. I find it very sluggish and would like to speed it up.
Would I see any benefit in rooting my phone and going to CM13 or an alternative Marshmallow ROM ?
I have 2 apps that I use constantly - IBM Verse and VPNCilla, both of which I use for work. Would both of these apps work
on a custom ROM, as this would be a deal breaker if they did not.
If all of the answers to the above were yes, where would be the best place to download the necessary ROM etc, as it has been a while since I have done this.
Many thanks,
Simon

Yes marshmallow is more smooth relative to lollipop.
As for your apps it depends on the ROM, if the ROM you are using has a VPN bug it means you won't be able to use vpncilla properly ,just check known issues of the ROM before flashing to make sure
XDA is the good place to find development
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-0-t3238064 try any other if you don't like it ,lots of marshmallow based ROMs out there nowadays

Can you recommend an alternative ROM to the CM one, as it states on the link that was sent that there is a problem will Call Audio, which is a problem for me, as I use the phone to make calls.
Thanks.

Can't get much better than the stock rom that comes with it. Can't get much more stable. Why go to custom rom?

This is the most stable rom for our device. It's based on CAF

Report back if you like. ?

No random bluetooth, cellular and wifi driver crashes on this?
Here is the Optimized stock rom for you. You don't need computer to flash it as you can flash it via custom recovery like twrp.

None of them for me.
Try pure nexus ROM,very few app come out of the build and install only what you need.Very stable for me
Stock... You need stock ROM for this situation, it is the most stable and battery friendly and the least confusing. At least they could ask someone who has general familiarity with Android questions without going into menus on Res Remix or AICP or something that would confuse them.
The situation calls for simplicity, stability, and functionality... stock is the best choice. If you don't have your backup, look around here, there are plenty of tutorials on how to go back to stock.
Go with stock rom
I was also looking for a stable ROM for Moto G3 XT1541. Interesting to see all the recommendations here to stay with the stock ROM. My reason for considering a custom ROM was that I've stopped getting system updates: last was around June with Android patch security level 1 April 2017 so I've assumed no more updates are being issued. I'm not comfortable using a system that isn't getting security updates, so is a custom ROM the way to go?
(Hope this isn't considered thread hijacking, happy to post as new thread if so.)
Stock or LineageOS, as they don't have unnecessary customizations.

Idea for Android One port for our devices

Anyone with the proper knowledge to port android one rom from A1 to Mi4c ?
Seen videos that compare the 2 variants, one with miui 9 and the other with android one (same phone, same hardware, identical devices in short) and
android one is a lot faster.
Don't know if it is possible, just had an idea.
Stock android for our device is very interesting as a thought.
Any real Dev which thinks this as a good idea ?
different SoC
Very difficult. If you want to experience faster Android, you can flash lineage OS.

I am on aicp 12.1 right now no complain, excellent work by the devs, but i thought stock would be an interesting alternative.
Anyways....Different soc so not possible.
Dont know if it is possible but i also saw nexus 5x with google pixel rom OREO (same sd 808)
Maybe this is more easy to accomplish ?

Easier theoretically. But libra isn't a famous device and few developers willing to devote to it.

ordered Samsung s7 Exynos version[SHALL I INSTALL CUSTOM ROM]

Hello,
I got a real good deal on the samsung s7 so i took it.
My question to you is, shall is stick to stock os or install a custom rom?
the reason i ask this is cause i was using a redmi note 4 and the custom firmware is kinda buggy, i need to reboot once a while. its running on 8.1.
it has LTE issues, Keyboard issues, apps crash randomly, slows down once a while.
Also, if i root it and install 8.1 on my samsung will the camera quality go down? i have heard this is true? can someone please correct me.
Honestly i want a stable experiance with a good camera, thats all.
Please advice.
Stable & Full camera quality, stick to stock
You need a TouchWiz ROM with stock camera app to get 100% camera quality
Custom ROMs are much more likely to be unstable than stock, but I haven't tried any

I've run a variety of Custom AOSP / AOKP Roms on my S7 - Nougat and Oreo 8.1 - After the latest Samsung Firmware update - I figured that I'd run Stock Rooted for a while - Stock is Definitely more stable than any of the AOSP /AOKP Custom Roms and the Camera is one thing that is constantly being complained about on AOSP / AOKP Roms.... That being said - If you like the idea of Running a Custom Rom & are prepared for some bugs - They can certainly be used as a Daily Driver ??
Sent from my SM-G955W ??
Hey thanks for the reply guys!
i thought maybe since the device is old someone might have ported a stock quality like camera.
its easy for me to say i guess! im sure its tough. well, i guess i'll install the pixel rootless launcher and keep using this beast! im not much of a heavy user its just whatsapp and instagram chats mostly.
though i'll miss android 8.1. but stability is worth it!
i was thinking how about i install a 8.1 rom+ google camera[ is it stable and better than stock now?]

As of now, the only way to get Pixel Experience is by using this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a8-2018/samsung-galaxy-a8-2018-roms-kernels-recoveries--other-development/guide-project-treble-galaxy-a8-2018-t3894881 to get treble on your phone then use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a8-2018/samsung-galaxy-a8-2018-roms-kernels-recoveries--other-development/pie-vendor-galaxy-a8-a8-2018-t3931071 to get treble vendor and then install Pixel Experience GSI.

Have a tutorial on how to install this project on galaxy a8?
Can I use it normally on a daily basis?
Does he have bugs?
Can I get back to the original ROM if I don't like using project treble?

I only tried it once and I had mixed feelings about it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I always go back to stock after using different ROMs on my phones because I want everything to be fully stable and work as it should. When I tried Pixel Experience everything worked fine and it definitely can be used as a daily driver. There weren't any major bugs but I didn't get any major performance gain that I expected.
You can go back to stock if you don't like using it but your warranty will be void and you won't be able to use some Samsung features such as Samsung Pass, Health, Secret mode, Secure Folder, etc. So you should think if you really need that.
And if you decide to try it, you need to study these threads carefully and follow every step.

But be careful not to brick your phone.
Hi I am writing to ask you if you have successed to install Pixel Experience on your Galaxy A8. Does it work well ? I also have a Galaxy A8 but unfortunately, the last updates has dramatically slowed down my poor phone. I have been told about Pixel Experience, it seems to be a very stable performant ROM, maybe it may solve my problem.
