Can this phone be rooted? iv tried everything iv tried to use king root it didnt work. I tried to flash a recovery with odin but there is no TWRP for it. I tried the j7elite one it didnt work. On some of the tutorials it says Enable OEM unlock but i dont even have that under my developer settings. My android version is 7.0 Can my phone even be rooted yet?

Ok...I bought a note 2 i317m from a guy and it was rooted...I think he also uses cf-autoroot...but the day I got it, I did a reset and if relocked the phone and it says its not rooted when u open super su. It was unlocked using the software method..like when its on 4.1.1 u can go into settings and unlock. Not sure what its called but u guys know the method im sure. The guy did some patching to he said..Don't know anything about patching but the phone has odin mobile and super SU on it still and they are not in the file manager?? I am fairly new to this stuff..like I have had every android I have ever owned unlocked and rooted and wanted to stop paying for it so I started doing it myself. Only Samsung models so far and only using chainfire methods. When I try to root now it says it cant open/find? (CoM) port. Just wondering if anyone kniw anything I can do or what the problem may be? Please help if possible..and thanks guys.
Alright so i tried to root my S7 cause i thought it would be as straight forward as putting CFW on my DS. I was wrong lmao. so i followed this guide and i did everything in order and how it was supposed to be done. SU did not install and when i did rootchecker it said it did not install root correctly. now i have a phone that forgets the wifi password everytime i turn it ON from being OFF and buggy things like a messed up playstore that does not install apps correctly.

ive googled on this for that past few days now and nothign seems to work. its not my first time flashing rom with either odin or custom recovery's .
ive succesfully flashed TWRP and worked. altough it tripped the knox but i dont really care about that. but then ive tried to flash every rooting files i oculd find and each time it failed in odin and softbricked the phone. at wich point i restored to stock with kies and tried someting else. i tried CF auto root wich the poster said it was for the sm-n915w8 on 6.0.1 but still didnt work. ive tried different usb cables on different ports. stil didnt work. can anyone help.
my main goal is only to remove bloatware and i want to install the region lock away app in hopes that it will unlock the network lock. ive paid 3 different sites for unlock codes and all came back with a refund because they claime they couldnt do it.

Now I can't enable OEM unlock. It's not grey out but it just unenable.
For some apps it said can't be opened on a rooted device. When I checked with rootchecker it said root access not properly installed.
I already tried to unroot and do a firmware reset but nothing change. Please help. Thanks

So that is a Canadian Exynos device yes?
First thing to try is to make sure your following any guides exactly and are using the correct version of any files. Then try rooting it again. I'm going to assume your using Odin in download mode and it doesn't give you any errors but a "pass" when complete.
Also I've always found it much much easier to install TWRP first then root.
If none of that works,download firmware,flash with Odin and use Home_csc so you don't lose your data.
It would be helpful if you provided your firmware version, cell carrier, locked to carrier? Etc
