Some help would be nice. Also for other users do not use this if you have previous TWRP backups appearently it makes them unsuable.
Thread cleaned... and a reminder that profanities are not acceptable here, no matter how frustrated you are getting.
Please use the link posted above, to continue the discussion in a calm manner.
Thanks
@Meticulus, really loved this- blue when on Custom ROMs and red when on Stock/Stock Based.

Now we are talking about the development
or may be the TALK about the custom ROMs for Honor 6X..we had very few and that too were not updated, only couple of them were updated and here I am not disrespecting any Dev or Open Kirin Team., they tried hard to bring few of them for our devices, now with few folks like you, Hassan and Meticulus, we got 5 in 2 days and I am sure, with full trust on you guys, this will be updated regularly with more hope on getting Oreo too with this team..
Great work guys.

Let me be clear and I only speak for myself. I make no promises. What is being offered is what already exists. That is all. Do not raise your own hopes and blame me later when your wish doesn't come true.
That being said, all I do is the best I can. :laugh:

Meticulus, now this is very very bad news! I just "discovered your work" and found you to be the perfect maintainer of Roms & Recovery for my new and beloved Honor 6X. So there will be no further development from you at all? Very sad imho.
But thank you very much for your awesome work so far!

Hello !
I just started to build CyanogenMod/LineageOS 13.0 for our device Honor 6X !
As there is no yet a kernel source code, I managed to successfully boot on Lineage OS with stock Honor kernel .
At this time, there is a lot of functions that are not yet working , hope to be fixed once the Huawei will release the kernel source code, and this should be happen soon .
Once the build will be pretty stable, I'll release a beta version for tests .
Currently working list :
* touchscreen
* charger
* adb & mtp
* internal/external storage
* camera & camcorder !
* all sensors
* audio
* USB-OTG
* WiFi
* GPS
* RIL ( only one SIM )
So please stay tuned for further info/updates

I see a lot of love coming to Kirin devices.
As someone considering getting this phone, you are making the decision hundreds of times more attractive! Thank you!
At this point, I have not looked at LineageOS, as its not currently available on G7. Are there any major differences to CyanogenMod? I figure its pretty close since much of who developed CM migrated to LineageOS.
Sent from my Huawei Ascend G7 using XDA Labs
Wow ..!!!
That's really great ! I wonder how the hell you got so many things working without the sources ??? Is Honor sticking close to AOSP ???
And if Honor continues to support the developer community, then surely my next device is the 6X ...
This phone has the potential to be the next "MOTO G" ... An awesome affordable phone for the masses !
I already managed to fix USB-OTG and WiFi, and as soon I'll be able to fix RIL a first build will be released
Edit :
RIL is working now, but I have only one sym working (SIM 1) , on SIM2 I have only the name of the provider but no signal !
* GPS already fixed
The prgress is very fast, thanks for OP's hard work!

LineageOS is Cyanogenmod, there's no difference besides a name change atm. I believe that most CM devs are with Lineage, while some dropped out.
On topic:
Man, that's pretty good. I was wondering if the phone would have an active dev community and it looks like it'll have, even without a Snapdragon SoC.
Great to hear this for Kirin devices... Keep it up buddy.
Once it gets released in India, many people will join you :good:
Getting excited reading this!
What version of the 6x would be most recommended to get for this to work?
If Honor are anything like Huawei, there might be slightly different hardware revisions depending on the region. That could cause complications for some G7 versions (but not mine since I had the more standard hardware version).

Hi, so you might wonder why the other thread got closed and what's all of this about. Well, the answer is that now I'll be maintaining this rom while Surdu will take care of Resurrection Remix, the rom is the same and you can flash this builds without wiping if you had the 'older' rom.
Instructions:
If you come from stock EMUI 5.0:
Install TWRP (Available in this subforum)
Format data
Flash vendor.zip
Flash LineageOS's zip
If you already have LineageOS:
Flash LineageOS's zip
Downloads:
Find them in this DevDB project section called 'Downloads' (you might need to use a computer)
Bugs:

Changelog:
Code:
01/06/2017 - Fixed random reboot issue
01/06/2017 - Added loop support
29/06/2017 - Fixed tethering
29/06/2017 - Fixed shaky camera

I'm bit confused. So where is the download section?
Found it
Sorry about that, there must be a problem with XDA servers, it's taking more than an hour to upload! And unfortunately I couldn't upload it without posting the DevDB thread, if it keeps working like that I'll find a more reliable storage solution.
I am really sorry! Check back in 5 minutes or so
Very nice job, and happy you fixed the issue. I'll set it as my daily driver once everything's OK
So what exactly caused the issues ? I'm curious as to whether it could have been solved on our own (i do say without Huawei's kind but forced operations).
And what do we do with that vendor.zip ? Flash it on top of Lineage's original Vendor package ?
(EDIT : Check post on top, the joys of cross-posting )
Still, thank you immensely on behalf of all the community

Hi, the problem was that a driver introduced by Huawei checked the time that it takes to boot (running in a kthread), if it takes more than three minutes it reboots to eRecovery, but it looks like it waits for a signal from userspace to check if it booted (like, write 1 to /sys/.... Whenever it boots).
We were actually aware of this being the issue, and tried to avoid it by editing the function's code (ARM64 instructions because we had no source (By filling the function with NOP or returning 0)) but we didn't succeed at first and thought that the kernel release was near so it made no sense to keep wasting time on it, if you want to see more details just go to github and check what we did, I hope that you understood the explanation.
Thanks for your kind words!
EDIT: The rom is up, you can download it now.
The Lineage zip file has uploaded! Thanks again for all your guys work.
Thx for your job. I'll now have to unlock the bootloader and start flashing. Two questions: can I lock the bootloader again once I installed LOS? Do i need to install twrp or is it enough to just boot it for installation?

Not at all, you need to be on EMUI in order to relock it. (You can if you go back to EMUI but I think that you asked if you could do that while you are on LineageOS).

You're so fast guys, a full of good notices from you!
Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but are you developers on the official Lineage team or are you just using the logo ? Is this a modification of LOS/Cyanogen ?
I really have faith in the official version. No disrespect at all. It' s great to see so much action all of a sudden.
I'm not sure because my carrier doesn't support volte, if it doesn't work I'll add it to the bugs list.

Bug for me:
Install zip, install gapps (or not, same bug) :
1. First boot ok
2. Without any install, any other flash zip, juste lineageos zip: shutdown phone, when press power to boot again, the rom won't boot, stuck to bootanimation.
3. I'm format data again to boot. But same bug, if i shutdown, or reboot .... stuck to bootanimation.
I can do a video if need

Have you flashed vendor.img from TWRP? Follow the instructions from the OP and you'll be fine.

If bug is still here with your update, i will try to enable usb debug before reboot and an adb shell, if i'm not wrong, bootanimation mean kernel boot, so adb shell must work (adb secure is set or not ?).

It's exactly the same, I suggest you to try with the new update, if it doesn't work I'd need a log to check what's going on.

About HwComposer. Apps are working as fast as normal but the UI is slower than normal. If you want to swipe down Status bar its slow and when you are at homescreen and slide from side to side its slower than normal. And when I Press Power Button to Turn Screen on/off Phone needs 1-2 seconds longer than normal. It would be very cool if we see a HWC fix for this Rom.

same bug with new update.
I have not unable adb, and nothing change for the moment. Because if enable adb, or doing something else, maybe the bug will not be there.
Now i will try to force language to english. And if not work, i wil re re-format data to boot, and set adb secure to 0 to look at the log.

LineageOS is a free community-build aftermarket firmware release for Android 7.1 (Nougat) designed to increase the performance and reliability of your device's Android.
LineageOS is based on the Android open source project, and many people in the Android community have extra contributions. It can be used without installing any Google applications. The following link is a software package from another Android project that restores Google components. LineageOS still includes a variety of hardware-specific code, which is also slow open source code.
what works:
substratum (legacy only)
ir blaster
wireless online
Bluetooth
Cameras (films and photos) (videos and photos)
Video playback playback
Audio (recording and playing) (recording and playing)
sensor
Global Positioning System (GPS)
inbuilt root in dev. options
advanced reboot menu in dev. settings
what doesnt work:
u tell me!
installation instructions:
download and install newest twrp from here : twrp
full wipe in twrp
install rom : https://mega.nz/#!p4xyQCzA!qyNiSvFDDcLCBuHeGkxgFMVZDtb3gD6MlB7NA1Yckmo
install gapps (arm64) from here (optional)
install xposed (optional) from here
reboot
this gcam mod works with this rom
Open build.prop, make string 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' , save, reboot.
if u want to use magisk instead of inbuild root, newest magisk from here is working
its not my work , i only share it with xda its from the developer Juanan from telegram group . https://t.me/redmi5official

How come dude?
There are two roms with the same title and they both put by the same developer.
Unless they're different, one of the threads must be deleted.
I don't have to try both .
It's a matter of respect to mention the differences between the threads.

This one is build by Juanan and the other one was build by a Chinese dev named as Wang...
This one is more smoother and is very stable.... compared....to the other one...

com.android.phone Has Stopped
Getting this error with the fresh install of this ROM.
Tried almost every solution from XDA to StackOverflow. still no luck.
Also tried the factory reset and reinstall with and without Gapps.
I also tried [ROM] LineageOS 14.1 by 王浩哲 For Redmi 5 (rosy) but same issue happened with it as well
XDA is not letting me post links so just replace _ with .

Quick question, if I go back to stock and update to Oreo, will that relock the bootloader?
I forgot to get my unlock code before Huawei stopped providing them and I didn't back up the one I've generated when I originally unlocked it.

you can grab your unlock code through DC-Unlocker, never used it, but users say it works - approx. 4 bucks.

Tried the fix. Now I have at least two IMEIs but now I have no service on both SIM cards. Do you guys need any logs (and if so can you explain how to get them)?
Hi @OldDroid, after all I want to say thank you for the time and effort spent in this kind of developments!!
I am wondering if you are working along phhusson in the treble project. I want to know this because in one hand in phhusson treble project are a lot a different ROMs that would be great to have in the P9 and in the other hand I read that this ROMs have some problems with P9 (I haven't tested myself) and lack of the stock camera for example. If I didn't missunderstood yours treble ROMs works perfect and also have the stock camera. Would be great to combine both of the advantages of each other.
Regards!
