Hey everyone, so first off this Mango beta is just fantastic! 8) However, there is one slight annoyance I have. The calendar feature as you know has been updated a good bit. However, my calendar events are all showing up on the lockscreen. Is there any way to turn off the lockscreen calendar notifications, short of entirely turning off the calendar service?

You can go into the settings for the calendar and adjust which ones show, even adjusting the FB portion a bit. I had to, I didn't want every single club invitation I get every 20 seconds showing up
Anyone notice the new way Tizen 3 displays Calendar notifications as 'ALARMS' now? Maybe it's just my watch, but on my Tizen 3 upgraded and full reset Gear S3, the calendar notifications are displaying like an 'alarm' which is so annoying since I have a lot of calendar notifications. Now when I look at the watch and haven't cleared the calendar notification 'alarm', that's what I see when I look at my watch until I've cleared it! On Tizen version 2, the calendar notifications where just that, notifications not 'ALARMS'! I can't seem to find a setting to change this behavior.
Anyone notice this too? And is there any setting to change it?

I have noticed it too. And it is annoying. I am fine for my watch to vibrate and then I can chose to tap a button to see what the notification is. However, now, as you stated, they are displayed as alarms that are persistent regardless of notification settings. I intentionally avoid screen on time to extend battery life between charges. I am good with almost every change made, except this one. They even gave us the option to disable the bezel wake which was a major power drain for me as I unintentionally rotate the bezel quite often, especially sleeping. However, now that all of my calendar notifications turn on the display my battery life is the same or worse. I just want the calendar event notifications to be notifications that can be managed as they were on Tizen 2. This calendar event alarm thing is not a good idea.
My Gear S3 used to do an alarm where i had to dismiss (bezel left or right). I've since moved to a OnePlus 6T and my company has moved to Outlook so i lost my calendar alarms. I recently synced my calendar to google stock but i only get notifications, I no longer get the alarm... is this a feature only for Samsung phones? Is there a way to get it back? This was one of the main reasons to have a smart watch, as i would get a notification that i had to action on my watch, and all the information for the meeting was available.
Any options?
Never see an "Alarm" on my Gear (1,2,S,S2 or S3) for calendar event, just notification or for the Samsung phone alarm (but different from calendar).
Otherwise I use "Calengoo" for my Calendar event and I have customized Snooze action or dismiss. If I do nothing it auto-snooze.

I searched for Calengoo, installed it, but there's no galaxy wear app for it and it doesn't do anything useful. All it seems to do is add entries to my google calendar and does meeting reminders on my phone and nothing on the watch. Am I missing something? I already have my calendar synced into the google calendar that appears on the watch. I get notifications, but I don't get the full screen dismissable/snoozable alarm for calendar events.
To be clear, I am asking about a full watch screen alarm based on my google calendar where it vibrates just like a phone call, and i need to either rotate left or right. These used to work fine and now the feature has vanished and I can't figure out how to get it back.
Calengoo is just an app witch add action and notification action for Calendar event.
When an event occur you have a notification (with sound or alarm sound you want) on phone and on the watch.
On the watch you have all action set on Calengoo for exemple for me when event occur, on the S3 I can select "Snooze for 5min", "Snooze for 15min", "Snooze for 30min" or "Dismiss". If I do nothing on the watch I have another same Calendar notification 7min after. Similar to an alarm with a "Dismis" and a "Snooze" and an "Auto-Snooze" option (but not with the bezel) .
Hi,
I just got a pixel3a - on my old moto handsets, you could set what notifications would show on the ambient display - I liked to just have calls and text messages to quickly see if I had anything important coming though. Is this possible on Pixel? To clarify, the only notifications I want to see on ambient are calls and messages - thanks
I believe you will see whatever shows on your lock screen and the only option is either all notifications or none.

You can use Tasker to do this if you're willing to not have the ambient display on all the time. I've set mine up using Tasker so that the ambient display is off until I get a notification. Basically, what it does is turn on the ambient display when a notification is received and once you clear the notification it turns it back off. When you create the profile in Tasker you can choose the apps you want to be able to turn the display on so you don't have it turning on for notifications from apps you don't care about. I have mine set up so that only Messages, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat will turn on the always on display. If you're open to something like that, I can help you with setting up the profile and the tasks necessary.

Thanks for the response - Tasker sounds like the best bet, I've installed it along with Autotools. I've had a play around and get the idea, but would really appreciate any guidance, cheers !
Do you mind sharing your Tasker profile regarding this?
Thank you

I want to be able to easily turn on and off notifications for a specific app, using a widget on my home screen. I don't want to affect any other notifications. The purpose is to deactivate annoying motion alert notifications from my IP camera viewer app temporarily when I am home. And then reactivate when I am away when they notifications can be more relevant.
