It is hardware limitation, I don't think you can change that.

So, what is published in all the pages of specifications, is it a lie? TRADUCIR

No it is not a lie, the specs is alright, however you can't make the touch screen to support more fingers.. buy another device/hardware which offer this feature.

in begin address, do you put the same code? (0x2d80000)

Help,please!
Hi, could you please upload stock Kernel file and (possibly) explain how to flash it. I'm new to the whole "working with OS" thing and I'm not sure how to find it myself. Thanks.

Time to talk about Android O for our device

First question does Osprey's hardware support Android O ?
Prob does but we'll prob not be able to have some features
Osprey's hardware didn't supported android N too but we got it with custom rom... I think this will happened with android O too
Our device is in list to get los 15 ie. android O

Well that's a pleasant news. And considering the awesome dev support our device has, I'm pretty sure we'll be getting plenty of Android O ROMs to try out.

Just for fyi, lineageosdownloads.com is not the official site (download links are redirected to actual linageos.org (org, not com)). So information they give cannot be verified unless the official linageos blog posts something about it.
It's still a long way. Source code hasn't been out yet. After AOSP code is pushed, linageos team will work on it, but considering the limited resources (unlike CyanogenMod), it can take a while. After the base is ready, then devs will focus on building device specific images and fix bugs. Only then android o will be roaster ready. Other derivative ROMs will take more time obviously.
We can't be sure if 8.0 will be fully compatible with our device. We don't have official Nougat kernel sources and proprietary blobs (AFAIK), also from what I've observed so far, the farther apart the last official firmware and target firmware are, the harder it is to keep a ROM unmodified and yet stable & functional.
Our device shouldn't die that easy though, as newer Moto devices with similar hardware as osprey and Merlin have been released.
Broadcasted from Zeta Reticuli
Just like i say earlier our device it wasn't supported android N but we got it thanks to our awesome developers. I think they won't let us down with android O too.. it maybe take a little time but i think we will have android O for our moto g 2015
sorry for my bad english
Hopefully we get O, and hopefully O comes default with the pixel nav because redacting that would take effort thats not worth it now that nexus is dead .

Our device does support Nougat, it is evident by the presence of custom ROMs (and even a stock port). The only reason we didn't get a OTA was because the company didn't provide us. The Moto ROM and these custom ROMs all are based on AOSP code.( Technically, if the company released the full source of their ROM and features, then we could build stock ROMs too)
And yes, you are right, it may take a little while but eventually we should see the ROMs coming
But the absence of latest device specific proprietary stuff and official kernel sources forces devs to look for other branches to fill the gaps and get newer thingies working. In some places it's not possible to implement a certain feature and an older feature is modded to make it work, for example before the official marshmallow OTA was out, we already got marshmallow ROMs but it had some hacky workarounds for radio (I don't know if it was updated after that), same goes for early Nougat when camera was becoming a problem. The camera is still not perfect (check linageos thread), working correctly on some apps and glitching on others. Newer software, newer challenges.
But codes are not exactly like food though, mixture of old and new ones is not always bad. But the blobs and drivers sometime give headache
Broadcasted from Zeta Reticuli
Have faith on our awsome developer we will surely have android O
Well, Android Oreo is out. I really hope that Osprey will get it soon.
https://source.android.com/devices/architecture/treble
according to this website,
"With Treble, a new stable vendor interface provides access to the hardware-specific parts of Android, enabling device makers to deliver new Android releases simply by updating the Android OS framework—without any additional work required from the silicon manufacturers"
Does this mean if someone gets Lineage OS 15 or OTA of Stock Android 8.0, they will receive all the updates from google from security patch to new Android versions (If the hardware is capable of running that version obviously!)?
---------- Post added at 09:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 AM ----------
If that so, Manufacturers can just update all the devices which theoretically can run android O , it will be a onetime work, after that it'll be easy to update the devices
That would be amazing. Let's wait for a developer opinion.
I managed to build AOSP 8.0_r4 for osprey with SELinux disabled and tons of warnings, using cm14.1's files with some edits. Though for some reason the kernel doesn't seem to boot (I tried with linage os and squid kernel)
I attached the boot.img it built if someone more expert wants to look at it (I didn't manage to find anything wrong)
Flashing the file results in fastboot "Error: failed to load the kernel"

Hi, Alberto97 (the official maintainer of lineageOS for osprey) has successfully booted android O on osprey. If you can get in contact with him, he might help you.
PS. Don't bug him about ETAs. He'll release when he feels its ready.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][12.1]AICP for Elephone Trunk/Ark Benefit A3

This is another adaptation of @ottmi's work, this time to AICP (64bit). It started as an experiment by request of @josoft86, tested on an italian forum, but it turned out to be rather appreciated.
Credits go to the usual list of suspects: @ottmi (obviously!), @dev_harsh1998 (device tree), @lolmaxlik_ru (peach device tree).
Due to the build system, in order for russian friends to use the ROM on their Ark Benefit A3s, I had to make a separate build for them; I used the @lolmaxlik_ru device tree with some changes for 64bit:
https://github.com/siljaer/device_ark_peach
The kernel is based on Lineage kernel, with code for the Trunk from @ottmi's kernel. Kernel source is here:
https://github.com/siljaer/android_kernel_qcom_msm8916
Link for Trunk build: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939816002
Link for Peach build: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745849072291695487
You are welcome to report any problem!

Sorry, I guess dirty upgrade is not possible. Camera and video recording are working AFAIK. I am not using this ROM as a daily driver, but people who are report so.

Actually, I am not using it; as I told, this ROM was born because of a kind request by @josoft86. It was just an experiment, but it turned out that AICP (after they transitioned from oracle java to openjdk) was quite simple to build.
However, if some people are using it and ask for it, I can rebuild it in order to include monthly changes. If people report problems, I can try and solve them. It's up to you, basically
In the past I had problems with disk space, now I have plenty of space on an external drive and I have also set up a partition for building ROMS (no more virtual machines...), so it's not a big deal.

Fine. I've just made a new build, but it has still December security updates (but a new boot animation ).
I will try again in a few days, in order to publish something with more significant changes
fantastic, thanks
One thing,
not sure it related to aicp build, but it started to happen only when moved from ottmi's last build to aicp.
Sometimes , when phone goes into sleep mode, it unable to wake up no matter what you doing. Only removing battery and reinserting it back solves the problem.
Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, I will try to investigate. Meanwhile, I tried to compile AICP but it did not show Jan updates. I will make another build soon, no matter if it is updated, so you will be able to try it and see whether the problem still occurs.

New build is ready. Actually, I think AICP development for 12.1 has stalled, due to 13.1 progress. So, this is likely the last build for a while. As soon as an official build pops up for a msm8916 device I will try porting that. Let me know whether the problem you reported persists.
thanks. will try & report

Hey.
The display of the smartphone does not work after installing the firmware. I have Ark Benefit A3, but the motherboard from Elephone Trunk. I tried to install aicp_peach_n-12.1-UNOFFICIAL-20171218 and aicp_trunk_n-12.1-UNOFFICIAL-20180130
Previously used the firmware aicp_peach_n-12.1-NIGHTLY-20170709. (Sorry for my English, translate.google)

Kernel isn't a problem: I got major help by @dev_harsh1998 to patch trunk's kernel. So far, my tries to build anything Oreo for the trunk have failed. I am going to try again, but not in a short time (I am quite busy at the moment).

now that you installed treble fully, you can install GSIs from the treble forums but there is one problem with pie GSIs, some GSIs dont work because of some kind of overlays.. here's a list of GSIs that work and dont work
Avoid these GSIs:
ViperOS (Pie)
Pixel Dust (Pie)
PixelExperience (Pie)
Resurrection Remix (Pie)
HavocOS (Pie)
Liquid Remix (Pie)
MIUI (Oreo)
Oxygen OS (Oreo)

Ha. So I've probably tried close to 10 gsi's now and while some were decent, there so far has always been something that makes it unreasonable to stick with.
There's a lot more choices, that's for sure. I was really hoping to nail the rr 9.0 but don't have the patience to fix the partition issue.... so now I am looking at a cool glowing arrow with hopes of no vendor error message at the welcome screen. The install was easy. No idea if this glowing arrow is going to get tired and let me have a spin at it....
Can I use it without root? I mean i don't want to have the phoe rooted for some apps. Thank You.
is it normal that my Device now shown as A730F ?
also i noticed a performance decrease
You are NOT allowed to use any part of this rom without my permission! All the apps and stuffs contains my sign So Beware!!

Just a reminder that certain parts of Android, including but not limited to the Linux Kernel, are licensed under the GNU GPL and other free/open source licenses. You can't say stuff like that.

So if TW is closed sources i have rights to protect my works from kanging, and quote clearly says `You are NOT allowed to use any part of this rom without my permission! All the apps and stuffs contains my sign So Beware!!` which means u can use but first you have to take my permissions as it's not OSS. Hope you understand and do more research regarding this `

i tried AOSP Phh-Treble today and got again the same feeling compared to this rom, this rom feels a bit "laggy". Don't get me wrong, it's not perma, it happens when i scroll realy quick...maybe it seems to me subjectively like that :cyclops:
atm i got two other issues:
the device didnt't get recognized if i connect it with usb to pc. only in recovery mode.
the developer options crash everytime if i try to open

FAQs :
Q. How to install the kernel?
A. Flash on stock kernel using TWRP, do not dirty flash on any other custom kernel!
Q. How to roll back to stock kernel?
A. Backup your kernel before flashing this, if you feel like going back to stock, just restore it via TWRP.
Q. I'm having bootloop, what should I do?
A. You will face some bootloops on first installation, it'll boot in some time.

great! thanks for your work ?
TBH, audio-kernel shouldn't be outside techpack.
First thing: that's not how you commit a Linux kernel. You completely destroyed all the commit history, so now no one can see the changes you applied. Second thing: I suppose you didn't even test the kernel you compiled since I don't think you even have the device yourself (the K20). You just have the K20 Pro and for some reason wanted to compile a K20 kernel too after compiling one for the K20 Pro. Third thing: those changes are so minimal and negligible that it wouldn't really make much sense to replace a stock kernel with this. No real reason for users to flash this kernel, but users can do what they want. Post a performance comparison between stock and this and then, only after that, people should really consider if it's really worth it.
Flashed on paranoid. Only issue I have that my screen turn off after a few seconds when unlocking it. This happens only when not used the phone for some minutes.
Edit: unusable for me. Screen turns black all the time

I had mentioned in the initial commit that it was with the v1 baseline not the stock one(If you want to see the full commit history check the raphael repo), secondly this is a test release meaning I want inputs from users!
If you don't like it, don't use it let other users decide what they want.

Mi sources cause issues even if compiled without any changes! Need to fix those first before adding new features.

infinite bootloop on xiaomi.eu 10.3.14.0, also tested on 9.8.15 same bootloop, did you tested your self? if yes on what rom?
edit: i am not complaining from the result of bootlooping, i am just telling the feedback of my tests, we really need a custom kernel of this device, so plz continue your work and ask me when ever you want me to test it, thank you.

AOSP/LOS Test Versions
As I mentioned before, Xiaomi code is a pain to work with!
There is no point in adding more features if you don't have working wifi or other major bug! We need a stable base first.
Interested users can test out new versions on LOS roms, please give it time for first boot!
Flash it via TWRP or fastboot.

On LOS 16 everything works except fingerprint scanner, can't register new one and doesn't work with previous
After flashing test1 -> fastboot
Booted only after flashing test2.
Should I try on fresh installation for fingerprint ?
