Need the stock phone manager/battery app please - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

So it seems I may have accidentally selected the Huawei phone manager app (with the battery profiles and other things) when batch deleting a few things... USA phone running android 7/EMUI 5. Could someone make a backup of their app and post it here?
Normally I wouldn't bother but it appears that I can't view battery stats or change an app's notification settings or exempt them from being closed while the phone is locked without this app.
Thanks.

Here it is, this is for BLN-L21C432, EMUI 5.0.1; it could be possible that it won't work, though.

Thank you but unfortunately that did not work. Trying to install it gave the error "corrupt apk" and moving it into the folder where it belongs didn't do anything at all.

Tried factory reset? It may just reset everything and bring this back, if not can go for dload method which will restore this.

Full phone backup without root

Did anyone try to backup the way suggested in this thread?
It'd be great, if it worked: a full backup (apps, settings, everything) without needing to root. I'm trying this right now, but when the phone prompts me to allow backup I tap on the "allow backup" button but it's if it weren't tapped (nothing happens, not even the tapping animation).
Someone tried this?
Edit: it would also allow access to some files that are unaccessible without root...

I've tried by running the various adb backup options manually on Stock 2.21, but haven't had much luck, although got further than you. It will get part of the way through the backup, but silently errors out after a few packages and shows backup complete (when I know it isn't). Removing a problem app just results in it failing on the next one. On my Nexus 7 it works as expected, so there may be a bug in the stock version. Would be interesting if someone with CM or anything non stock could comment.

Agree, would be interesting to see if the issue is related to HTC rom.
I've read on the Nexus 7 subforum that a user is stuck at my same point. I wonder what's causing this...
I had no luck either, although it has been awhile since I tried. I thought I read something on the original documention that made it sound like I wouldn't have any luck. Forget what it was now--
I was able to get this to work with my wifes stock unrooted one s (still on android 4.03 and sense 4.0).
in developer options you need to specify a password BEFORE you start the backup and enter that password on the "full backup" start screen.
i also couldnt get it to create a file for the backup in C:\ so i created a folder, and put it in there, but made sure to check permissions and that the folder was not read only.
I havent restored the data yet, but actually getting the backup file and it being an appropriate size (about 680mb), i would say i am optimistic about the results.
I will report back after i root and update the OS.

Verizon Galaxy S III (d2vzw): Persistent Google Wallet [ROOT]

__
__
ATT seems to work
Sweet idea! Just tried this on an ATT GS3 and it seems fine. I did not test other apps. I do get an unsupported device tag at the top in the app but I don't think that impedes the function. When I use the Nexus device device, name and model (maguro, yakju and Galaxy Nexus) I don't get the warning but probably more likely to end up with incompatible apps.
Do you reset Google Wallet prior to flashing a new rom or do you just have the build.prop update before you run wallet?
__
I'm confused. I have Wallet installed on my Verizon GS3 and I have no problems now. I am rooted and running Synergy ROM. When installed Wallet, I had to use a patched APK and edit my build.prop prior to installing Wallet to trick the phone similarly to what your script does (Galaxy Nexus, yakju, and maguro instead) After installing and setting up Wallet, I restored my original SCH-I535, d2vzw, d2vzw settings in build.prop and rebooted again. I am running Wallet no problems and it doesn't even tell me that I am using an unsupported device.
When I reboot my phone, it does not affect Wallet and my build.prop is not modified. I don't understand why someone would need your script to keep modifying the build.prop to say it is the pretend device? Please don't take my reply wrong, I'm simply trying to figure out what I am missing, not be a jerk.
I am always leary about leaving my build.prop modified because you trick other things into thinking your phone is something it is not. I feel this leaves you open to potential problems. I used Goo Manager the other day to see if there were any updates for my ROM and because of a modified build.prop it thought my phone was an AT&T GS3 and if I had downloaded and tried to flash an AT&T ROM I might have bricked it. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't want to take that chance. Also, isn't there a possibility of downloading an app from the Play Store that is only for the Sprint phone you're pretending to be and causing problems?

Hi Jeremiah,
Thanks for the info. Just so you know, I used that Google installer few weeks ago and it worked fine. I changed to a new ROM last week and forgot to reset wallet before switching which caused bunch of problems. I was able to fix them but the installer did not work for me anymore. I was however able to get wallet working by manually editing build.prop and installing a patched apk of wallet. After wallet was up and running, I reverted back to the d2vzw and SCH-I535 version of build.prop. So you know, I have my correct build prop AND a working Google wallet. I can send you the link but its the Verizon Google wallet thread in the mods and app forum under Verizon GS3. I understand if you switch ROMs it would need to be reset and build prop edited again, but I don't think the is a need to keep your build prop edited unless you are using the play version of wallet. Perhaps the link could get you the patched version and that might help.
Take care,
Jim

That's why I'm using the Play Store version: to receive updates to the app. If you don't care about updates, though, I suppose your way of doing things would be best. (I don't think it works throughout ROM updates, though. Let me know if I'm wrong about this.)

Oh OK... I'm not sure but that makes sense... You would know more than me! Thanks... Again I was just looking for clarification. Thanks for your work. Good luck.

The "Unsupported device." error only shows up if you're running Google Wallet on a rooted device (unsurprisingly); you're right that it doesn't impede the function. And you don't need to do anything as the user before or after flashing a new ROM; once you update the ROM, your phone should reboot automatically within a minute or two of starting up to put the new build.prop into effect! Simply install this once and don't worry about it again! (Unless, of course, you uninstall Tasker or wipe your phone or something.)

So to clarify, when you say:
"And you don't need to do anything as the user before or after flashing a new ROM"
Do you really mean "you still have to reset Google Wallet before flashing a new ROM"?
Also, I'm wondering if it's possible that modifying build.prop might cause my Nfc.apk to stop functioning. I'm wondering this because it stopped functioning (after using 'Google Wallet Installer' - which does replace nfc.apk I believe, so that could be it, but not sure).

Jim will you please tell me how you fixed it? I did not reset Wallet before installing a new ROM a couple months ago and unfortunately all my nandroids are bad due to a CWM bug involving partitions (I didn't do anything to my partition structure manually...).
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
I'll tell you what I did, but I was just trying anything so I'm not sure if I got lucky or if you have to do everything I say... First I went into application manager and I cleared all data and updates from wallet. Then I rebooted into recovery and did full wipe 3x. Then I went onto Google on my laptop and logged in. Go to wallet and then to your activated devices. Not sure what they are called but you will see all your devices that have wallet. Some might day deactivated. If there are any active then disable or remove them. I don't remember what the term is Google uses to Deactivate. Once you have no active wallet applications left on Google go back to your phone. Install the working ROM or good backup. I had a good backup with wallet working...i was able to restore that nandroid and reset wallet from within the app so that i could then install the new ROM. then After setup, reboot again and wipe dalvic cache in recovery. Then try to install wallet again. Thats pretty much how I got it fixed... The key was getting it deactivated online.

Oh and I uninstalled wallet after clearing the cache and updates.. Forgot that part sorry.

I followed the instructions to the T and it worked perfectly. Thank you. But my question is, what happens to the Tasker Profile? After, I went back in to check out what you did. I am a relatively new Tasker user and was curious about what all was intailed. But when I went back the profile was gone and the only sign that I had imported the xml file was two variables. Is it supposed to disapear?

Correct, the patches lag behind the updates somewhat. You can only use Play Store Wallet if you build.prop matches Play Store Wallet accepted devices (d2spr being one of them). For this reason, I prefer to wait for the updated patched version - if you do that, you can keep d2vzw or whatever you want in your build.prop
As far as resetting when changing ROMs, back when everything was stored on the secure element resetting was a big pain in the ass. I don't even bother anymore - there's a separate "reset wallet" option in the menu of the actual app (different than clearing app data), but you don't need to use it. I just keep a version of Wallet Installer V3 in TiBu, and restore it after installing a new rom. After restoring Wallet Installer, just run it once and then reset build.prop - the installer downloads the latest patched Wallet.apk.

No, it is not supposed to disappear. Since Tasker updated its UI, Step 4 ("Tap the green check-mark at the bottom-left of the screen to save the profile.") is no longer available. Instead, press the back button or home button on your phone (or just switch to another app) to save the profile, then continue to Step 5. Let me know if this works. Nice to know that I could help you get Google Wallet up and running!

I tried going through the steps again but I cant get Tasker to recognize the xml file when going through the import sequence. I downloaded and extracted (when extracrted its another file folder with the xml file in it), placed it on the root of my internal sd card. I go into tasker to import. It recognizes the file folder but when I select it, there isn't anything inside. Tasker wont recognize the basic xml file. I remeber when I first did this, the xml file was recognized without being in a folder. I can plainly see the xml file on the root of the sd card from Root Explorer in ROM toolbox. Would have it something to do with the permissions of the xml file? I show the permissions as rw-rw-r--.
I think I know why I am having to go this. I didn't follow the step to the T. I clicked "Run" before saving becasue I didn't see the green checkmark.

I am not what was happening but I updated to CM10.1.0 RC2. I cleared anything I had tried previously with this tut. redownloaded the file and went though everthing again. It worked and the tasker profile stuck this time. Thanks for the help.
Great write up. Very simple to install. Google wallet was installed and running in less than 5 minutes. Thank you!

Can anyone confirm this method works with 4.3? I made the jump to CM10.2 Nightly 8/27 (and tried 8/14, I think) and my phone goes into bootloop. It was working fine on CM10.1.2.

Link2SD completely messed up my phone

Alright guys I'm about to blow my top off here. The most recent Link2SD update completely messed up my entire phone.
For reference, I'm currently running an LG G3 D851 4.4.2, stock ROM and rooted. Everything was fine until recently when I started noticing a Play Store update app error "-110".
Not knowing what it was, I investigated, and found that my entire group of app installations have been completely screwed up.
1) First off, I can't install ANYTHING. No app, no nothing. I need to probably install an updated Link2SD to fix this nonsense...right? Can anyone direct me to how I would install the apk using ADB?
2) My mount script is broken and it's not working. It tells me "Mount script cannot be created. mount: Unknown error 150". As a result, my SD 2nd partition remains unmounted....which I think is the source of this entire problem.
3) Viewing my internal storage through DiskUsage, I've discovered that every single app I used to have installed has been "merged" into a single folder simply called "System data". Referenced through this photo here: http://i.imgur.com/ksukQGG.png . Instead of showing the individual folders, e.g.: Google Translate, Pocketcasts, etc, it just shows that big anonymous block of "System Data".
4) If I go to Settings -> Apps. Every single app shows up with "0.00b" as their app size.
HELPPPPP PLEASEEEE I will seriously monetarily tip someone if they can provide me with a solution to this.

Thank you so much for the detailed response. Unfortunately though, it looks like I already have the most recent version installed, 4.0.9? Would this solve anything by basically reinstalling it? I was hoping there would be like a 4.1 version that would fix the issue or revert changes or something.
Update:
Tried installing an app through ADB and it now shows me this:
WARNING: linker: app_process has text relocations. This is wasting memory and is a security risk. Please fix.
pkg: link2sd-4-0-8-multi-android.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INTERNAL_ERROR]
Any idea anybody? Like before, I'd be willing to donate to anybody who can provide me with the solution. Thanks!

I can uninstall apps, but I can't install or update anything. That's why I was trying to install through adb instead, which unfortunately still doesn't work. When I open up Link2SD, it doesn't give me an option to reload, it only gives me the option to "Recreate mount scripts". If I click on it, it gives me the mount script error - "Mount script cannot be created. mount: Unknown error 150."

Is there any really important data on your installed apps? If I was you I would simply reflash the firmware and start from scratch instead of spending hours to find a solution. The point is that you don't know what you changed that your phone became like this. I have send a email to the Link2SD developer but I'm not sure if he can provide a solution.

I'm actually backing up all my app data as I'm typing this. The only concern I have though, is that my phone is actually on the stock recovery. I only rooted it because I didn't want to deal with the potential for something like this to happen (which would suck up all my time, haha). As a result, I can't flash anything. So if I decide to stock factory reset, would that clean the /system /data, and everything else that needs to be cleaned for my phone to work properly again? I thought that root (and potentially whatever screwed my phone) persisted through a stock factory reset, which would make trying to do that pointless.

Well, I solved the mount problem by formatting my SD card. But that didn't fix anything else unfortunately.
I also noticed a couple interesting things:
1) Android and Link2SD show my data and cache for ALL apps to be 0.00b. I know that's not true because I went to the /data/data/app directories and found the data exists.
2) I can use all my apps normally with no problem. that means all the files are there, and can communicate correctly(?)
3) I still can't install any app at all.
Next course of action: Completely disable link2sd's boot script perhaps? So what would that entail, deleting install-recovery.sh from /system/etc/ ? Anything else, or would that be good enough?

Virus on new phone (Protruly v10s)

So I bought one of these babies from an online Chinese website, after using it for a while, I noticed a few random apps here and there would keep installing themselves (emoji flashlight being one in particular) . I decided to scan for viruses and wouldn't you know it, there were quite a few of the trojan variety. anyway, so i decided to do a factory reset and then I installed malwarebytes to do a scan and what do you know, theres a trojan attached to a couple of the built in system apps (contacts and file manager) which unfortunately I cannot delete, only disable.
So the next step I thought was to do a clean install but it seems to be the case the phone must be rooted before this can happen - and being an obscure brand (Protruly v10s) theres nothing in the way of a guide for rooting for this particular model, or indeed even manufacturer.
so i was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts how to best manage the situation going forward, is disabling the infected apps enough or is the case the apps need to be deleted, and if so, what steps can i take to get this to happen.
thanks

Apk apps on file manager
Have the same issue here. Even after deleting each apk in the file manager and reset the phone. The apps keeps coming back. You can also see the apps in the file manager by using esfile manager. Select phone memory and search apk. It will show all the apps that is automatically installing in the phone. Try to delete it but it is like an ai monster it keeps respawning. Hope there are experts that can help us in these issues.

The only options I can think of are:
1) find some way to root the device and remove the problem apps completely from system.
2) if the stock firmware is available for the device, you can try downloading the firmware then extracting the firmware to get access to its content, then remove the problem apps from the firmware then repackage the modified firmware and flash it, it should no longer have the problem apps after flashing.
3) if the original firmware isn't available, you can try finding a compatible firmware from a device with the exact same hardware and try that firmware, if that firmware also has apps that are virus/trojan, remove them before you flash the firmware.

Also, if you're uninstalling the apps but they keep coming back after you reset the device, that seems to suggest that there is a hidden partition on your device that contains a copy of the system apps and it keeps restoring them from that partition when you reset the device. I have a Azpen A 750 tablet that does the same thing, I can uninstall the apps and they stay gone until I factory reset the device, then those apps come back.
It's kinda the same as the process on a Windows laptop that has a recovery partition containing a copy of your Windows system then using the "restore to factory defaults" option to reset the PC.

How can I solve it? I sent the phone to BRICK flashing a recovery of a high phone thinking it could work but instead it doesn't start anymore it sends me directly into the bootloader. Please help me the phone is new it is 1 month old.

Broken themes after twrp "format data"

Hi. When rooting Huawei Mate 8 I had to use "format data" option to remove encryption (it wouldn't take my PIN). Then I flashed magisk and when I rebooted back to system, I found out that there's only 1 basic theme available, HWthemes folder empty, downloaded themes not working (despite "theme applied" notification, not even after reboot). My goldmagazine theme is gone, and the setting "Homescreen style" shows a placeholder drawing where normally my theme picture would show. Does anybody have experience with this sort of special effect? What am I supposed to do to bring my themes back?

Everything that you had installed, saved and setup got wiped when you reset data. You'll have to reinstall/replace anything that got wiped and manually set it all back up again.

Hello and thanks for your reply. The phone was shipped with those themes from factory, I never installed them, so I didn't think they would be stored together with my personal data. Any idea why new themes downloaded from Huawei don't work either?
I have access to another phone like this which is not rooted. Can I somehow extract these files from there? (The folder shows as empty, even though it 50MB+)

Try reinstalling the stock firmware and then go through the rooting process again but this time don't encrypt the device and don't enable a PIN, you probably wont have the same issue.

Thanks, that's what I thought and what I would rather avoid. But if there is no other way I will have to do it this way I guess.

There may or may not be another way, but the way I described is the simplest and least likely to have additional issues to fix. Trying to "add it back" may not be so simple and might cause other bugs along the way before you get it all straightened back out.
Do yourself a favor and take the simplest route.
