Apps getting stuck/not responding/crashing - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day everyone. So I recently started to experience weird freezes and crashes of most of the apps. Like facebook, instagram, some games. Not all of the apps do this. It all started about a month ago. I tryed using multiple diffrent ROM's. Although that ROM did work correctly for another month before these errors came up. Now I am using Global Elite rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/development/sm-g920f-sm-g925f-griffin-t3435461
I always do a clean flash. Rooted with magisk, even though I was using SuperSU for other roms. Any help will be aprecieted. I am suspecting hardware failure (anyway to test that?). Thanks in advance.

Bumping this thread. Things getting worse... Please anyone. I am desperate...

Why don't you revert to your initial ROM, the one that never caused any issues?

Problem is that every rom I've tried do same things. What is left to try is stock official firmware. But I will have to try it later as I am currently on the go.

Try to do a factory reset and see if the problem persists.

Problem with Android Market after Downgrading Radio

So after the big radio scare with the Alpha Gingerbread radio, I downgraded back to a Froyo radio and BAMF Remix 1.6.3. Since then, I've been having tons of difficulty with the Android Marketplace. Initially, after changing the radios, my Apps did their usual thing and began downloading themselves and installing themselves on my phone. About half-way through, all the downloads paused and restarted. Since then, every single App I've tried to download or upgrade through the market has failed. I just get the error message "Download failed. Please try again."
I've already tried flashing several different radios, wiping and re-wiping, and installing several other ROMs and nothing has fixed this issue. Is there a certain specific radio I need to flash in order to fix this? I'm really getting frustrated. I guess I could restore the phone back to stock and try re-rooting from scratch, but I'd rather avoid this as it takes a lot of time. Are there any possible fixes to this/Is anyone experiencing similar issues? Thanks in advance, guys.
Have you tried clearing the market cache?

Yeah, I have. I've literally tried every single thing I can think of involving the marketplace including re-installing the vender.apk off of the system files. I'm guessing it must be a problem with the radio because prior to the swap, I had no problems. What's strange is that I have absolutely no problems with data or voice; it's just this issue with the market place that's becoming a real hassle =\
Flash a different radio and kernel, then reflash the rom. I don't know how it could cause a problem with the market, but you might as well start all over.

Alright I'll give this a try. Over the course of the day I tried flashing several different radios and ROMs with no success, but I didn't touch the kernel. I'll do all three at once and see if that remedies the problem at all. I searched around the forums a ton and I can't find anybody else facing the same problem.

I'm having the same problem on BAMF 1.6.3 remix. When I flashed I didn't change the radio as it seemed that others were having problems. I'm fairly new to the whole rooting thing so I doubt I can help much. I've tried wiping cache & clearing data in Market, fixing permissions via ROM Manager. I can install some apps from Market, but there are numerous ones that I had previously purchased that will not install. I have no problem with Amazon App Store. Hope this helps.

Frustrating problem: Stock Rogers GB and Swype Crashing in Marketplace

Hey everyone,
I've been running the Stock Rogers GB with FUGU root for a few months now, and I have been dealing with a frustrating problem for most of that time. Whenever I download an app update through the marketplace, the phone freezes for a second or two and I get an error message telling me that Swype has crashed. Sometimes it freezes to the point I have to pull the battery, none of the buttons work and I can't even power off holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Has anyone else had this problem? I am wondering if it's Swype or the root method causing the problem(I have redone both installs numerous times)? Some interoperability issues I'm not aware of?
Please don't suggest installing Custom ROM A or B, I am more interested in what is causing this issue more than trying to fix it at the moment. I am happy with everything the Rooted Stock offers me for the time being, with the exception of this issue.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Why don't you try custom ROM with Swype included?

Either you're trolling me or you totally didn't read.
Thanks.
Try a factory/data reset, start fresh and from there try it!
I was on Rogers Stock GB before and I don't remember having those problem. Try doing what B-eock said, do a back up of your files (photos, music etc...) and do a factory reset.

[Q] (Q) Uninstalling unused apps with TiBu

I've been using Titanium Backup for a long time. I'm a crack flasher. AOSP....TW....doesn't matter. Pros and Cons to all. Within the last couple of weeks I've noticed iam unable to uninstall the apps I normally junk when trying a fresh ROM. They appear to uninstall....repeat, same result.... only to find they are still present. I could just freeze them but I'd rather junk em.
Anyone have any input on this??

Which roms have you noticed this problem with? I use SlimKat and I noted this same issue with the built-in SuperUser app in Settings. After flashing SuperSU in recovery, I haven't had this issue going on about a month now with either SuperSU v1.91 or v1.93. I flash SlimKat, gapps, SuperSU then boot. TiBu uninstalls pesky System apps without the slightest hesitation now.
I'm on the latest CM11 now. I was on the latest PacRom yesterday.... same issue, along with other unrelated issues. Its been about a month since I SlimKatted my phone. I think its only been an issue on AOSPs....recently though.

Hmm, have you been installing SuperSU and experiencing this issue? If not, give it a try and see how it works out on CM11 or Pac.
K. Tks.

9.0.3

Since the lastest update been getting random soft reboots left and right for no apparent reason. Never had that happen on 9.0.2. I'm all stock no root or mods. I've tried clean flashing, multiple times with fresh downloads, flashing via fastboot, changed slots. I have the same apps as before.... Not sure what's causing it. How do I track down what's causing it or is anyone experiencing this ?

Logcats I believe may have the answer.
Have you tried doing a clean flash including a factory reset and all that. as if it's out of the box. Install 0 apps and see if it resets on its own?
I've been experiencing this as well, since I think open beta 8. It got to a point where i thought maybe root or being unlocked was causing it, so I did a complete factory reset, flashed open beta 10 via fastboot, so at this point I'm out of the box fresh. I'm still getting random soft reboots, in the middle of last night while i was sleeping being the last one. I've read that setting a private dns might be the cause of it, but i began experiencing it originally before I started using one, so i doubt its that. Are you currently using private dns? I've read people experiences this issue whether they use dns or not, so I personally feel that's not the cause.

I was using a private dns, as of yesterday I stopped using one to test if that was the cause. Since then I haven't experienced reboots

boot loop help

I've been using Lineageos 14.1 (and Xposed) on my Nexus 5 for yesrs and am happy with it. But in the last week I've been having crashes, usually when waking the phone from sleep. When that happens I can sometimes just reboot but other times I was faced with repeated bootloops and I've had to go into twrp recovery and "reboot system" to get back to a working phone.
To resolve the crashes and boot loops the first few times this happened, I deleted the Davlic cache and cache. The problem persists.
I updated lineageos to the latest Jan 3, 2019 even though I don't think this has anything to do with linesgeos which has worked for years, but the crashes continue.
I just don't know "how" to troubleshoot this problem beyond what I tried. What should I do to find out what is causing the phone to crash?
Any troubleshooting suggestions appreciated.
To determine if it a software issue, I suggest flashing the latest stock Google ROM. If the crashes stop, you'll know it is a custom ROM issue.

Thank you for replying . I'll try that although the problems started without my having upgraded from the same rom I've used for a long time.
Would some kind of log help?
Thanks again.
A log would certainly help the developer.
Have you posted your query in the ROM thread?
Yes and got no reply so far.
