Weak Intro :
Well, I find few people who're curious to change their TWRP splash screen and even the themes. Don't know how to do this weird stuff? You're at the right place! . I know few of them might be bored with staring at the same splash screen for a long time. How about trying something crazy? :silly:.
Prerequisites:
1. Knowledge of how to repack/unpack img. If you don't know how to do this, Just follow this thread by @osm0sis: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775
2. A TWRP recovery image for our device which can be found here: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/x3/
3. A splash screen image(format in PNG) of your choice.
4. Notepad++ for XML editing. You can get it from here: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.5.2.html
5. PATIENCE! :silly:
Procedure:
Ok now that you're happy with the prerequisites, Let's start being crazy!
I assume that you know how to use the Android Image Kitchen by @osm0sis and thereby I'll proceed without any AIK instructions.
Let's start!
1. Extract the TWRP image you wish using the AIK. To do this, Just drag the TWRP image file onto unpackimg.bat file
2. Now you'll find 2 folders.
-> ramdisk
-> spllit_img

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Leave the "split_img" folder aside.(We don't need anything to do with it) and open the "ramdisk" folder.
4. Open the "twres" folder and then right-click on the "splash.xml" file. Then choose Edit with Notepadd++ in the context menu.
5. Scroll down till you find the page XML tag.
6. Now, delete the lines as shown below.
7. Add this line shown below
8. All done! Now you need to get your PNG image of resolution 1920 x 1080(height x width) of your choice.
9. Go to this directory: ramdisk/twres/images. You'll find a file "splashlogo.png". Just Overwrite it with your PNG image and you're done!
10. Finally, you need to pack the modified stuff to make TWRP image. To do this, head onto the AIK folder and then click repackimg.bat. You'll find a a new file in the same folder called "image-new.img". This file is your modified TWRP img. Just flash it and you're good to go.

Hey everyone, I just finished my first releasable boot animation. As the title suggests, it is an animation of the American flag being raised over mt suribachi on the Japanese island of Iwo Jima during WWII. Not only is this a full animation of it being raised, but you also have the option to have a sound in the background. I will be including my sound version with a clip from the song "Killing in the Name Of" by RATM. There is also a non sound version for those of you that want a stealthy boot up, say if you were in school.
both zips are flashable through cwm recovery
How To install them :
1. copy/move the bootanimtionwithsound.zip/bootanimationnosound.zip file to your SDcard
2. Reboot into CLOCKWORKMod Recovery
3. goto " Install Zip from SDCard "
4. goto " Choose Zip from SDcard "
5. goto where you have the animation zip file
6. highlight the animation you want and press the camera key
7. Install the Animation.
8. Press Back key.
9. then " Reboot system now "
If you want sound, but dont want the RATM sound, find a .mp3 file, edit it down to about 10 seconds of your favorite part, save it as Android_Audio.mp3; then extract the contents of the bootanimationwithsound.zip to your desktop and navigate through the folders data and local and replace the mp3 with yours, and then do the same for the system then media folder. Then highlight the things you extracted and right click add to archive. rename to what you want and then select .zip, then change the compression method to STORE and click ok/done/ what ever it is. then you can move it to you sdcard and use the above steps to install it. Have Fun!

I figured I would start the thread with the splash screens I make and I would love to do any requests for people. Just post an image that you want me to create into a splash screen or tell me what you want and I'll see if I can do it. I'm not very good in paint.net or photoshop yet but I can try my best (or have my adobe certified brother do it for me lol)
Anyway, here is the link to the archive and the batch file inside flashes the image for you. If anyone who knows how wants to create a pc36img zip for it, you're welcome to and I'll add it to the main post.

HTC and CIQ Quietly watching you.
This is the second splash screen that I made and since I remember the CIQ issues everyone has, I figured I would take a shot at it.
Same thing as before, just use the batch script until I figure out how to make a PC36IMG.zip

Iphone Joke
same rules as above for flashing. Just unzip folder and run the batch file.

update: here is the PC36IMG.zip file for it remove the Iphone from the name.

Warm Synergy
Alright, for the auto-flashing without manually going into bootloader, follow the same instructions as before
for flashing to via bootloader name "warmPC36IMG.zip" to PC36IMG.zip and boot into bootloader and it will automatically flash.
Download for normal zip to flash automatically: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15069134/Warm Synergy.zip
Download for PC36IMG: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15069134/warmPC36IMG.zip

Shooter Rom
Same way to install as above

PC36IMG install: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15069134/ShotPC36IMG.zip
Here is the Android Sauce one. Did not try to flash it myself, but should work fine. Obviously just rename to PC36IMG.zip and flash through bootloader.
Thanks for posting that, I'll try flashing it
No problem, let me know.
Worked fine and I just found out that I only had to change the name to Splash1.img
I am a noob at this stuff but I just used the tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146515 so not sure if it's as easy as just renaming the image.
Awesome! I remember when i first tried doing this it almost bricked my phone hehe
As an obsessive fan of Ska when I got a wild hair to figure out how to create my own boot splash image and animation I went straight to checkerboard and skanking. So for the few of you that share my love of Ska here's what i ended up with.

splash1.img
This was built for the Sensation but in theory should work for any HTC device with a qHD 540x960 screen
1. copy to same folder as fastboot.exe in your sdk installation
2. run the following adb command (or any alternate way of getting to bootloader)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
3. after the bootloader has finished loading run the following code. On the latest sdk install fastboot.exe is not located with adb but in the tools folder.
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 nameofimg.img
4. reboot and enjoy
Thanks to Shaquiel Harris for an easy & concise instructions

Boot Animation
skankin540x960.zip
1. rename zip to bootanimation.zip
2. make sure your system is mounted read/write, most root explorers are able to do this without having to use terminal emulator or adb.
3. copy into your bootanimation location, I suggest you rename your original so you don't overwrite it in case you have/want to revert. CM7 has it in /system/media
4. reboot and enjoy
Thanks to despotovski01 for Boot Animation Creator
If you want to create your own I'll walk through my method.
I found the animated gif with a simple google search and used GIF Frame Extractor developed by evanolds.com/. If you choose to use a similar program, make sure the output is png.
Loaded extracted frames into photoshop and recorded the actions to resize, clone and save each frame then repeated on the other gif frames
Collect the out put in a folder named as such so an alphnumeric sort list them in order, if you use numbers make sure to pad (1 --> 001), windows vista and up sorts detecting numbers meaning that frame 2.png will show before frame 10.png but a regular sort will not so it should be frame 002.png. Also, despotovski01 fails to mention this so I had to figure out the hard way, you need atleast 2 folders of image(s) for Boot Animation Creator to work. So I took the first frame and COPIED it in a separate folder.
Now rename the folder with the the single image 1 and the folder with all the frames 2 and place them both in an empty folder. Run Boot Animation Creator and follow the instructions on the post, the Sensation's dimensions are Width=540 Height=960.
If you want to create a gif for preview I used Photoscape
Happy Customizing Guys

By doing his to your phone you take full responsibility to whatever happens on your device. The developer will NOT be held responsible to whatever happens on your device. Of course, this has been tested but whatever happens on your device will not be held against the developer.
Now to the good stuff
Today I Will Show You How To Modify The Off Screen Charging Images To Your Liking
Things you will need :
[*]M8 Duh
[*]Computer With Fastboot
[*]A Photo Editor
[*]A Tool To Unpack Recovery.img's
[*]About 10 to 30min of your time
Common Sense
So Lets Get StartedFirst Decompile Your IMG I will Be Using This To Decompile My IMG
if your using the same tool as me then drag and drop the img on unpack.bat as seen in the picture
next navigateramdisk
res
offmode_charging_images
this is where we will be doing our modifying :laugh:
Now that you have your img decompiled and your in the offmode_charging_images folder
open up your fave image editor I will be using gimp(because its free and im broke lol)
key things here I kept my images at stock depth 600x362 I did not go any higher as I would think it would mess up you can try your self if you can go higher tell ME!!!
Now if you made pngs the format go's like this 0,1,2,3,4 the rest 5,6,7,8 and 9 just loop the first ones so just copy them and rename if you did not make new pngs just overwrite them
once your done messing with the pngs repack the imgs with the unpackimg.bat
now take image-new.img and put it in your fastboot folder and flash it with fastboot
Code:
flash recovery image-new.img
*NOTE* check to see if you can get in to recovery after flashing your new one
if not you messed up some where
now power down your device and plug it in if you see your new modified images congrats

Ever wondered how to make your Lock Screen Transparent without installing any 3rd party apps or using Xposed Modules, etc...
Buckle Up guys!! This tutorial will guide you to make your Lock Screen Transparent in 5 easy steps
REQUIREMENTS1. framework-res.apk of your respective device.
2. APK Multi Tool or any other application to decompile/compile apk [for sure shot]
If you don't have APK tool then open the framework-res.apk with winrar [not sure if it will work after this or not]
3. Photoshop
4. Presence of mind not needed at all
Alright Lets play
Step1. Decompile your framework-res.apk (Not going to teach you this part)
If you don't have an APK Tool to do the above work then open the framework-resp.apk with winrar/winzip .
Step2. Go to \res\drawable-hdpi\ and search for your default lock screen wallpaper [In my case I found it with the name of keyguard_default_wallpaper.jpg ]
NOTE:You will find your default Lockscreen image in this folder only. So look sharply for it, name of the image may differ.
Step3. Once you locate your default Lockscreen image,Open it with photoshop. And make it transparent by deleting the image, and save it as .png
For example I found my default lockscreen image by the name keyguard_default_wallpaper.jpg ,but after I edited it with photoshop making it transparent,I have saved the image by the name keyguard_default_wallpaper.png
We save it as .png because only .png supports transparency.
Note: Do not change the size of the image.
Bingo!! You successfully made your LockScreen Transparent.
Step4. Compile your framework-res.apk.
Step5. Replace it with your device's framework-res.apk via any file manager like ESfileexplorer or put it into a flashable zip and flash it.
For creating Flashable zip easily follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...shable-zip-t3196490/post62724670#post62724670
For your help i have attached a zip having transparent image in it at the end of this tutorial
