Put your phone into car holder. Drive and listen what traffic signs were on you way.
How often do you stop on an unknown crossroad thinking whether there was a yield sign or you are on a priority road? This app can see things that you have missed:
detects traffic signs and lights using camera
announces what was detected
keeps detection history for further review
Tested on devices having more than 1.5GB RAM. If you experience out of memory error, please go to Settings and disable Classifier.

Implementation details
Little bit more insight for developers: this app uses TensorFlow Object Detection Framework that provides nice models to retrain and export onto mobile devices.

There is an option to create a twice smaller version of this app that only will detect traffic signs and save them - does it make sence?
Tested on Lenovo PB1-750M (Lenovo Phab) - does not work at all, does not even start properly. Some Java exception is thrown and that's all.

Apparently that the application does not start because of the small size of memory in the phone model. Try disabling classifier (Toggle SETTINGS -> Enable classifier to off).
Also providing of screenshot with error would help a lot. We're considering separate version of the app with less memory consumption (and thus less functional).

There is a known limitation that your camera should support 4:3 picture format. We plan to remove it in a future. Meanwhile try to change min camera frame height in Settings - may be your camera will provide 4:3 frame on lower resolutions.

Looks like a really great app and is innovative
This week we released version 1.7 that addresses setParameters error appeared on some devices due to camera preview size mismatch. Now automated sign detection is available to even more people!

Hello,
If it works in background, as a background scanner it needs less than 0.1-0.3% of your battery.
On most devices system load almost very low and it's don't slow your system.
Small hotfixes:

I created a location tracking app, which doesnt use GPS, WIFI or internet while tracking. This was kinda meant to be my personal app, because data connection while roaming is too expensive for me, and of course, GPS would drain off my battery from 100% to 0% in less than 4 hours if used continuously (Im using LG Optimus One). Plus, GPS tracking apps dont let the device sleep.
You can easily view your tracks on map, or in a tree view.
It can also batch-geotag pictures, based on the locations recorded.

This app works by logging cell tower id. You can specify the time interval. When the app is in background, and is recording locations, it doesnt keep running forever. It runs only at the specified intervals and closes. So, it hardly uses any resources and is task killer friendly.
*** Accuracy of location by cell tower is low, ranging from 500m to sometimes even 4KM. This app will be useful only if you are travelling tens or hundreds of KMs and if you dont mind accuracy.
*** To resolve the recorded cell IDs into geo coordinates, you need internet. You can do this anytime later, maybe after you are back to home.
• Geotagging pics:
To geotag pics, just put this app in recording mode while you click photos. When you get to home, you just need to resolve the locations recorded and geotag the pics.
Geotagging is done by selecting a location from your records, based on the time when the picture was taken.

Looks really interesting. Integration with Tasker would by nice to have. You could start the app when leaving home (wifi disconnect, time of day, cell ID....) and stop it after arriving to the destination.

1. The 0.0.0.0:8888 address does not work, I've tried it multiple times from multiple devices, it shows this (attachment):

2. Why can't I just use the keyboard on my android tv remote on my phone to input the code so the kids don't see it? Using the TV remote to go to the individual numbers (which are then highlighted) defeats the purpose.
3. An option to just lock all apps (or just tick the apps you want to lock) with the same code could be useful. As far as I can see, you have to go to each individual app and lock it with the code.

the link http://0.0.0.0:8888 doesn't work also for me.
It would be really the best to have a second App to be installed on the parent device so that you can remotely control the usage and any unlocks.
however, the fact remains that it is an excellent app, unique in its kind, especially if combined with TV Shield where there is little possibility of installing generic apps.

So far liking this better than android auto. The only issue I've seen it can't seem to figure out how to remove apps. It shows the trash can on the right bit only allows me to move the application up or down.
Is there a way we can fast forward or rewind 30 seconds in the music app? Playing and skipping to the next track are the only options I see.
