Anybody know what the case shown in this video here is, or where to get it?

At 0.06 when he opens it up you can see 'D3O' on the inside of the cover.
That is a nice case.

That looks amazing! I always missed my blackberry for auto turning on/off when you put it in/out of the holster. I thought that was some sort of patented hardware feature because nothing other than the ipad smart cover does anything similar. Want this case badly! Anyone know where to buy?
Nexus 7 has magnetic sleep/wake, but I have run magnets all over the Nexus 4 and have not found a spot where it sleeps so I don't know how this is working in this video.
Perhaps they are using an app that is using the proximity sensor?
Possible leak of a Tech21 Impact Snap w/ Cover? Seems like it to me. Check out videos for the SGS3 and iphone 5, very similar.
If a D30 case comes out for the N4, I will most likely snag one. That seems like a pretty nifty case. It seems that he may be using an app that uses the phone's proximity sensor to turn the phone on and off when it's covered. I used to use that app when I had the N1 and HD2. It works like a charm, but uses a lot of battery.
That's a nice case. Been looking for a clean looking flip case myself.
I'm very interested in this. It's the only kind of case that intrigues me at all.
I'm guessing it's the d3o case for the gs3. It fits, but the button placement is a touch off, and you have 2 extra holes on the back.

I love my original s-View cover but it interferes my s4 compass especially with the cover is folded to the back of the phone. I can clearly see how the cover changes the direction of the Google Map compass while flipping the cover.

That's because there's a magnet in it to activate the hal sensor to tell the screen to go to s-veiw window
If you take a magnet and put it where the sensor is on the phone with the s-veiw cover open your screen will change like if the cover is closed

If the S-View covers work with the aid of a magnet, how does this one work?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281100942769
As I understand, no magnets here and yet they claim it has all S-View abilities!
PS ... anyone bought this cover? If yes, is this latched on to the built in battery cover or does it reduce bulk by replacing the battery cover?
Thanks

Got to have a magnet to trigger the S4 S-View mode on the display. Doesn't say it's got a magnet in the listing, then again doesn't say it hasn't.... Looks like it's got kind of a tpu case which snaps round the phone and the cover is glued onto that.

I have this cover. It does not replace the battery cover, but fits over it. However, the "leather" is very thin, so the case doesn't really add much bulk. The s-view function works perfectly. However, I won't continue to use this case once a better s-view case comes out. The part that holds the phone in the case doesn't cover the corners of the phone, so they are vulnerable if the phone is dropped. And, the front of the case could easily open if the phone is dropped, so there is no protection for the front of the phone, either. I really prefer flip cases, because I ruined an expensive phone by dropping it, so I want something that protects the phone. I really like the s-view option, but this isn't the case for me.
I got a cheap copy of the S-View which fits perfectly and works just as good. Unfortunately it seems the magnet is too strong because the S-View mode activates when I fold the cover around the back!
Is there any way to fix this?
Yeah do what I did, take it off, throw it into the corner in disgust, and put a tpu flip case on instead.

Dude, do you have a link to the one you bought - does it work just like the S-View?
I have the cover from Tridea. Got it yesterday.
It is actually quite nice and protects the phone better than the original S-view case. However, this is magnetic too and makes the compass more or less unusable.

I'm wondering this too. I paid $7, versus $60, so I can't complain, but I would LOVE to find out that the authentic ones actually fix this critical issue.
Why not buy an original one, guaranteed to work. I have had mine since day one and works great, even when flipped back. I can post a video. If need be.

If you open a compass app, does it point to the right directions (south, north etc) even when you slowly rotate the phone horizontally?

Maybe it is different for you, but the compass on the S4 sucks with or without the S-Cover. It constantly need recalibrating on many of these phones.

I agree. What is the reason for this though? Is it a software problem that could be fixed with an update, or a hardware problem which is pretty much permanent?
My S4 S-View (original) cover definitely interferes with compass readings. As this is an original Samsung case I find this quite incredible how this has been overlooked.
With the case on and open, my compass app would always point in the same direction.
Gradual movement of the front cover from the open to closed position would quickly alter the compass bearing etc.
I decided to ditch the S-View cover for the standard one for the following reasons:
1. Affects compass bearings as described
2. Unable to see notification LED when the cover is closed. (it is in fact not enabled at all when its closed)
3. I'd rather see my full screen caller ID on an incoming call than the small S-View window. I know if you open the case you will then see the caller ID screen, but I'd prefer to see it from the offset.
Only drawback now is that I hate leaving the screen uncovered so I've put a screen protector on, and I can never get to fit one perfectly...I always seem to get one or two specs of dust that cause bubbles.

I am guessing it is a hardware issue because several people have the problem (there is a thread in the "general" section about it) and it doesn't seem to matter which app or APK is used with it, it has the same issues and needs to be recalibrated periodically to work properly.

Well, it's tough to purchase a legit one sometimes, and knowing IF that design flaw doesn't exist in an authentic version would make it worth it.
Edit:
Fixed it myself. I pried open the fabric, took out the magnet, put a nail between the magnet and the hammer to shatter it, and put back half a disc. Works perfectly.
I have the original S-view cover and if I slowly open or close the cover over the phone, the compass changes values, and I even got a notification in compass app regarding the magnetic field while playing with the cover.
Is there any way to repair this behavior while keeping the S-view functionality?
As it seems, the keyboard case price is slightly if not very expensive, and glancing through several market Bluetooth keyboard case, I can't help but to think to acquire that over simply a dock then purchasing another case which is a lot of money. I have had difficulty finding a case that covers the edges of the tablet with bluetooth keyboard. Can any one of you suggest me one?

I'm not sure I follow.
By keyboard case, do you mean the keyboard dock? Or a case for the keyboard dock? Because the reason that the keyboard dock is more expensive is because it includes an additional full battery, usb port and full integration.
By Bluetooth keyboard case, do you mean a dock? Of a cover that includes a keyboard?
Of a cover that also includes a keyboard

Hmm... I don't believe there is one on the market that includes a keyboard and case all in one... and if you do fine one it definitely would be some kind of universal fit solution. Usually such cases use a universal bluetooth keyboard glued into a synthetic leather folio. It definitely would not "enhance" the transformer experience.
But I guess if you are looking for a keyboard that can be detached and used from further away than the option keyboard dock available that could work!
We have the Perfecto Pro that you can use the tablet and keyboard at once, and fold both the tablet and keyboard at once into the case. You can see them here: http://www.caseen.com/Transformer-Pad-Infinity-TF700-TF700T_c_49.html
But that may not be the solution you are looking for. I'm interested to see your response. So let me know!
I've actually decided to just purchase a Bluetooth keyboard with a touchpad which peaked my interest with a swiveling stand case typically seen on iPads for this tablet, I didn't see any tablet case with this nice of a keyboard attatched to it, so I may just have two separate entities
Sent from my MB886 using xda app-developers app
I've also found out that you could use USB universal leather keyboard case which then can be used with either attaching a Bluetooth dongle female making the keyboard discoverable or simply buying a female USB with Asus input plug in which would allow for me to use the keyboard, but as I previously stated, the touch interface built in the keyboard peaked my interest more than what the dock itself was capable.

Just in case it matters to anyone, I recently got the poetic case designed for tablet + keyboard dock. Its nice and all, but even if you don't use the elastic straps on the hing corners of the keyboard (they aren't necessary to hold it in, but keep it in place better), the case material that sits between the tablet and keyboard seems to thick. You real.y have to force the tablet into the dock, and once its in it seems like the puts a lot of strain on the hinge and bottom edge of tablet. It even seemed as if the bottom corners of the tablet where the hinges are were forced away from the keyboard, and there was a gap on either end of the notch thing you clip it into.
I extensively compared the reviews of all the tablet+dock cases on amazon before going with the poetic. The bad reviews of the other best choice were all talking about blocked ports and strain on the hinges. Most of the bad reviews for the poetic were from morons who were pissed it didn't come with the dock (like, really? They honestly thought a 250$ dock was included in a 17$ case? wtf. I cant believe reviews like that are tolerated.) I can also be pretty ocd when it comes to expensive electronics, but the tf700 is aging and I'm looking into getting an upgrade, otherwise I would be pissed.
My recommendation to anyone who has the dock connected a majority of the time and wants protection, would be to go with one of those protective skins, and find a padded zipper pouch to put it in while not in use. The cases that are supposedly made for the tablet + dock just seems like the best they could do with what they were given. The tf700 was never designed to fit in a case like that while connected to the dock, unfortunately.
Hi people,
I recently bought an S-View Case from Ebay , which of course is not an original samsung case.
However the S-View Functionality doesn't work at all. I thought samsung has enabled 3rd party case support?
I also bought one of these a while ago the prblem is they dont have the chip that activates the sview software. If you notice on the back of your phone there are multiple pins. Some are for wireless charging and some for the S view functionality.
The only way to make these 3rd party cases work is to download an app from the play store, simply search s view. What this does is it uses the proximity sensor to sense when the case is closed and activates a special s view window.
Let me know if this helps

There are a few version available.
1 like the oem rely on the chipset and magnet which is located at the bottom right of the flip cover.
2 rely on apps, there is a magnet on the top left of the flip cover.
3 rely on apps and sensors on the phone.
I really enjoy my quick cover from LG, but what I can not understand at all is how it works when I open the cover and have it against the back of the phone:
1) fingerprint sensor is accessible enough but not fully.
2) camera lens is blocked, which is irritating in two situations. When I take a picture I need to hold the quick cover with one hand away from the lens. Also, in the car I have a holder for my phone which folds the cover to the back so I cannot use my phone as a dashcam.
Two things which could have been better designed in my opinion.
Anybody with same experiences, or even better a work around??

I bought it also and verry disappointed.
I sent a mail to LG if the guy was drunk when he designed it. They know it's not well designed but they will not change it. So i bought another case. Case closed
