I have a SM-G900P. It's been years since I've flashed a new ROM... I'm way back on plain Android 5.0. I have Philz Touch 6 installed.
I would like to start with just updating my Galaxy S5 to the latest plain vanilla Android and go from there, backing up, trying new roms, restoring, etc.
Thanks.
Model #: SM-G900P
Software version: G900PVPU2BOD3
Hardware version: G900P.04
Android version: 5.0

Build #: LRX21T.G900PVPU2DOB3

Hi all,
I got my new SGS2 today and was wondering which is the right kernel to use with my phone when rooting. Ive also updated with kies, as well to the latest firmware. My phones details are as:
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband: XXKE7
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555 root dell101 #2
Build No: Gingerbread.XWKF3
Thanks..

I've tried the custom kernel CF-Root-SGS2_XW_MOT_KG1-v4.1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399, fourth post, but the CWM Manager v2.0 can't seem to create a backup of my Samsung Galaxy S 2.
I've rooted the phone and I'm on Android 2.3.3. Specs are:
Android version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9100XXKF3
Kernel version: 2.635.7....I9100XWKG1
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XWKG1
The developer (@Chainfire) did mention that the above custom kernel is "untested" by him. Just wondering if someone is looking to fix the issue with CWM Manager not able to backup the phone's content?
Any help/feedback is much appreciated.
I've updated my Samsung Galaxy S2 using the CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG1-v4.1 kernel - even though the developer (@Chainfire) has said that it' only for Android 2.3.4 - and CWM Manager is working now. The phone specs are still the same except the Kernel version has changed to:
Kernel version: 2.635.7....I9100XXKG1
I guess if the developer read this post, he can update his thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 with this info.
I am trying to revert a Galaxy Tab (SCH-i800) to stock non-root. There are guides saying to flash the stock rooted ROM and then use SuperOneClick to take out root, but the stock rooted ROM has a different kernel version than what was there before I flashed the rooted ROM.
I believe this different kernel version is causing issues in 3G speeds and stability (as speeds were much faster and the connection never dropped)(This tablet is using the hotspot as an always-on connection) and I have not been able to find a system dump anywhere or how to revert this tablet completely to stock.
Here are the stock details:
Hardware version: i800.0.4
Model: SCH-i800
Firmware: 2.3.5
Baseband version: S:i800.0.4v.EI04
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Build Number: SCH-i800.EI04

happy hunting!
I haven't installed a new ROM in over a year and wondering was told to look into CM 14. Here's what I'm currently using https://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...based-t3292572 and I like it. just looking for something new.
Is CM 14 compatible with my phone and is there an instructional link on how to install everything? I haven't messed with ROM's in forever.

Hi! I have recently came across a Wiko Lenny 5 device, and I find it rather slow and full of bloat. I was doing extensive search on the forums to no avail. I would like to understand if there is a stable custom ROM I could use, and if so, how can I make it work.
I believe I have successfully rooted the device.
Android 8.1.0
Wiko Lenny 5 W_K400 (Dual-SIM)
Baseband version
MOLY.WR8.W1149.MD.WG.MP.V169,
2018/10/08 10:08
Kernel version:
3.18.79+ (gcc version 6.3.1 20170404 (Linaro Gcc 6.3-2017.05) )
Build number:
O11019 release-keys
Custom build version:
W_K400-V01.20.OPE.20-[Oreo-8.1]-GBL
Note: I'm relatively new to this. I had rooted and installed ROMs on several more popular devices using guides from this site before (bigup and thanks for your work!), but I have little to no idea what works how and why.
Any help/suggestion is appreciated
