ROCO C805 MT8163 Andoird 6 or 7 - No audio on speakers - Android General

Hi all,
8" chinese ROCO 2GB/16GB white 2 speakers on the back. Base rom was android 6
1 - Device was bricked due to bad firmware. No backup, no stock ROM (yes still exist this kind of people).
2- Found rom on needrom for Roco C805 (https://www.needrom.com/download/roco-c805/). V6 doesn't flash. V11 has a corrupt file.
3 - downloaded ten's of rom for every MT8163, read hundreds of forums (yes, I don't like to bother). Always an error when flashing due to load (yes boot loader was gone)
4 - Found rom for Philips e1027 (https://www.needrom.com/download/philips-e1027/). Flashed ok! No sound on speakers. This version is Android 7.
5 - made a few changes using bootloader from e1027 + remaining files from V6 (see 2-)
6 - Have a flashable rom with preloader ok + remaining files ok + items.ini file cleaned and adapted to screen resolution (8" 1280x800). Still no sound
So i read that maybe I should use libaudio*.so files from Android 6 and copy to this ROM. But I don't have the original android 6 rom copy from.
Also read that Alsa Mixer could fix it but I'm not being able to root with common tools such as android tools, etc.
This is the device from my young daughter and I've run out of ideas of how to fix the audio issue.
I've some programming background ... all the help I can get is appreciated.
regards

Any news regarding this? I have this tablet but it is still on android 5. I would like to update and root it if possible

You can upload this file C805.N.V1.8.RC-V11.rar ???
Thanks!

[ROM] Android 2.2 (Froyo) For FlyTouch 1 - Via SD boot

I stumbled across this, i hope the developers on XDA can help...
This is a SD card bootable version of the OS.
It's based on the projectGus release for the eken m001, modified so it uses 256M of ram and the calibration is customized so it can run on the flytouch without the inverted axises.
THIS IS A ALPHA STAGE ROM, maybe the developers here on XDA can create a stable flashable NAND version out of this ?
DOWNLOAD ROM
This is NOT my work, credits go to kiarov for the flytouch 1 build, check original thread HERE.
Instructions :
1. Flash to a SD card, according to instructions found HERE
(Rename the "froyo_flytouch.img" to "debian-m001."(without "img")) before flashing
2. Copy the stuff ("script" folder) from the RUDROID version available HERE
If you don't know what to do with the file, you should take a look at instructions HERE
There are the instructions on how to copy the disk image for linux and windows.
Be aware that you'll need an at least 2gb sd card to copy the files.
Everything works....
BUT:
Kernel version 'unavailable'
when it sleeps, it dismount SD, when it 'wake up', it shows message 'damaged SD'
when you remove SD and put it again, it doesn't recognize
Market apps are only 1.6
Credits go to projectgus for the original eken m001 rom where the flytouch 1 build is based on. Check original thread HERE
Note from projectgus for the EKEN M001 BUILD :
''All the scripts & patches I used are available on github. There should be enough there for a savvy person to fairly easily build this again from an AOSP release.
The kernel used is “my” copy of Wondermedia’s kernel source release. Hopefully as Alexey’s from-scratch kernel adds more features, it will eventually be able to run Android as well.
If you do build anything using this, please please please share source/instructions for what you improve. Every “secret” someone hoards away is a step away from making these devices properly usable.
This Froyo build comes unsupported (sorry), and I’m not likely to do a whole lot more on it. However, one thing I do intend to do is get it running on my Eken M003 (my M001 has serious hardware problems so I can’t really use it as a tablet any more.)
However, I really hope that others will jump in, build on it, and make something good. Enjoy!''

[ROM] JXD S7100B ZCR v1_5 + setting [update 16 may]

this rom is only for S7100B
S7100B Zip's Custom Rom 1.5
the philosophy that underlies this first rom (do not expect miracles) is this:
If Android is not at 100% open, with the modifications of the house JXD, it is certainly less
for that cause this rom came WITHOUT any frills, so that the user choose what to have or not have on your console since the emu (not upgradeable) to app (not removable)
v1.5 changelog
-add theme faenza
-add advance task killer
-add my backup of vtl launcher settings
here is the v1.0 changes:
Based on the last official rom for JXD s7100b
- Removed ALL emulators series (since they could not raise it to update)
- Removed all serial applications to be added jxd (because there people who do not use FB Skype etc.)
- Removed serial launcher (really crappy)
-VTL.Launcher 1.6.5-added info link (ADW launcher launcher based on tablet-oriented
-FileManagerHD-added as a manager (much higher than 2 managers istallabili Series)
-Added superuser.apk
Changed clock font
changhed menu font
and that's it for now ..
The next thing I want to add (2.0) have a different boot animation, add a simple task killer, the theme for whiteware adw (if it works on VTL) default background, and another music video player
and then study how to make a backup of the settings of the launcher so who installs from scratch and restore my rom does not have to configure the home
A special thanks goes to SNESFAN and its forum: http://forum.openhandhelds.net/
Bitrider I create a custom rom for the first Android console,

Android and the whole community
My community reference point for italian open source console users
www.OPENCONSOLE.it
BRIEF-Up Guide
1) get yourself a micro sd and put the files ZCR1.zip
2) make a backup of everything you need to save, (the new rom is really skinny)
3) Introduce the sd in the console
4) turn on the console by holding the keys POWER + MENU(the last button on the right of the 3 keys Android)
5) Wait and you will find in "bootloader)
6) Optional: make wipe of data/user
7) go to apply update from sd and start pressing the start / select
8) navigate and select ZCR1.zip and start the process
9) if all goes well should start installing the custom rom
10) when the process is finished you reboot system
you will come round to set up a launcher!
do not fear the next version will provide a backup of the settings in order to have everything already set
download: http://filesmelt.com/dl/ZCR1.zip
edit 16 may:
there is the 1.5 vers + my vtl launcher setting
download 1.5+ setting: http://www.openconsole.it/download/ZCR1_5s7100b.zip
extract on your sd card
follow the past guide
then go on vtl setting and restore setting
Thanks !

Thank you and a question
First, I want to thank you for the ZCR 1.5 custom rom. It has really been great to have an alternate to the stock firmware. I've been trying to determine how to build my own custom rom for the JXD S7100B, but appear to be missing a step somewhere.
I've constructed a ROM and created the .zip image and then attempted to sign it with signapk.jar with the typical android testkeys. However, every time I attempt to update from sdcard zip file in the recovery menu, I'm greeted with an E:signature not verified error. I've tried to create my own certificates using OpenSSL and sign with those, I've compared the ZCR 1.5 custom rom to the latest firmware update from JXD, I've even tried to simply resign the ZCR1_5.zip image with the testkeys. All attempts have failed. I've scoured the internets for as much information as I can find and I can't see any difference between what I am doing and what I am reading. I've tried executing the signapk.jar under 32-bit XP and under 64-bit Windows 7 just on the off chance that there was a precision discrepancy between the two versions of java.
I'm at a loss and would like to know if you would consider outlining the process you use to sign the .zipped image? Do you use jarsign or signapk or some other tool? Are you signing with something other than the testkey certs?
Thanks,
jkgamer

[ROM] Feiteng A7100 - Spreadtrum SC6820 - Rooted

Hi,
I'm opening this post to publish the result of some digging and struggling with a chinese device running the Spreadtrum SC6820 chip.
Details of the phone are can be found on http://www.cellphonemic.com/feiteng-a7100
EDIT: The original ROM is created from base firmware version mt6515_c910_ht_en_4.0_v01. Please be careful if your version is different as I have had reports of LCD display issues (greenish colors and ugly pixels). A a sensible approach, please never flash a new ROM without having a backup firmware. Chinese devices often change the chipsets without changing the device version, so it makes it hard to have an universal ROM.
So, let me try to explain the outcome of my work and how to flash the ROM into this device.
First of all, I want to say thanks to pogodancer for his help in my investigation and for providing me the software for flashing the device, as I couldn't get any version to work.
So, getting to the point, I have created 2 versions of the firmware:
Standard Stock ROM - Rooted
This is mostly a copy of the stock rom of the device with the following changes:
- SU binaries included
- SuperUser app added
- Ayu_Sales.apk (CAIVS) application removed - In case you want to know what this app is, check your mobile phone bill. If you find SMS messages sent to chinese numbers (starting by +13) that you have never sent, you now know who to blame
As the ROM is rooted, you can now mount as RW the /system folder and change anything you want.
Link to the firmware: http://www.mediafire.com/?4x9ra4y3e53isjf
Modded Stock ROM - Rooted
This is a modified version of the rom I have done to clean the device from unwanted and chinese software and to add some missing apps. Details are:
- SU binaries included
- SuperUser app added
- Ayu_Sales.apk (CAIVS) application removed
- Go Keyboard (and all its language plugins) removed
- Default Launchers (there were 2) and theme removed.
- ADW Launcher added
- GMail added
- Google Talk added
- Gallery3D substituted by Cool 3D Gallery
And that should be all.
Link to firmware: http://www.mediafire.com/?8i3soi585vjvyfh
Now, for the flashing software, the link to get it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?o9km8vl287ev24j
Instructions for flashing, from pogodancer, are:
0. Be sure to have installed the correct drivers. For my SC6820-device I see 5 items in Win7-32bit-device-manager (ADB-Composite, 2 x COM-ports, 2 x USB devices: all without exclamation marks). You can use the drivers from the package folder "SCI-android-usb-driver-jungo-v4-.rar".
1. Disable just in case your Win7 firewall.
2. Launch "ChannelServer.exe" from package folder "CHANNELSERVER" and allow firewall if asked.
3. Start "ResearchDownload.exe" from package folder "ResearchDownload".
4. In ResearchDownload-application chose firmware with first button (for me: 6820_2.3.5_c910_hteng_s5_en_4.0_v01.pac).
5. Be sure that the Baudrate from Win7-Device-Manager-Comports-Settings in CHANNELSERVER equals the Baudrate-settings in ResearchDownload-Settings (second button). I recommend 115.200.
6. Press the Start (Play) button in ResearchDownload-application (third button).
7. Turn off the phone.
8. Keep holding the "- volume" key.
9. Without releasing the button "- volume" plug the usb-cord from phone to Win7 (install the driver if not done before in step 0).
10. The process of firmware-burning should start now in ResearchDownload-application and take approximately 1 Minute. You can release the Vol.Button once it starts.
11. Wait until the firmware-flashing has been finished (A green sign appeares + "Passed" is written in ResearchDownload-application).
12. Remove the battery, wait 20 seconds. Put battery back and turn on the phone (first boot may take a while but not more than 5 minutes).
Click to collapse
Please note that I have flashed the phone it in a Windows XP virtualbox machine and I realized I didn't need the CHANNELSERVER application, so I went directly to step 3.
And that should be all. As usual, use this at your own risk and make sure you are flashing the same device or you could get a nice bootloop.
Cheers.
NB: In case anyone is wondering why flashing the firmware instead of directly rooting it, I just want to say I have tried probably all methods that exist (even the last version of Unlock Root that claims being able to root a MocorDroid2.3.5 like this device). I have also tried to do it manually via an ADB shell, but no exploit seemed to work on this model. It is surprisingly horribly well protected. So, after many days of fighting with it I decided it could be a better solution to unpack the firmware, unmount it, modify it and remount it. And, after many attempts (failed as you may imagine) I have been able to get to these 2 working (and rooted!!) versions of the firmware.
Enjoy!!
-- EDITED --
I have just detected that there are two devices looking very similar with same SC6820 chipset, but made by two different manufacturers:
- Feiteng A7100
- TiangJI A7100
If you happen by chance to have the second one, please DO NOT USE the ROM in this post, as it won't work with your device. The TiangJI device includes a TV antenna that the Feiteng does not, so please verify it before flashing your phone (specially if you don't have a stock firmware backup for your mobile phone).
Hi Yekdall,
you are great. Very good job. I guess I only have tried your modded version and it works great !!! Thank you very much for your work.
I am looking for installing Clockwork but I am still stock at the message "flash_image not found". Do you have an idea to solve this ?
Another less important question: I installed the Holo-Locker (beneath the Holo-Launcher), but after booting I see for 2 seconds the Android 2.3 Locker before changing to the Holo-Locker. Do you know how to skip the Android 2.3-Locker ?
Have a nice weekend.
Hi Yekdall,
when you dial:
*#*#556#*#*
then a few seconds you can read "Android" but nothing more happens. Do you have any idea what this dialer-combination is good for ?
Launcher
Hi Yekdall,
I am still testing. It seems that the ADW-Launcher is a bit laggy when you have installed a lot of apps.
Do you want to test the Holo Launcher ? Is it worth to make a new rom with Holo, or should we just delete ADW from system/app and replace it with Holo, but I don't know if that works flawless ?

Hi, I have never tried Holo, but based on the comments in the Market, it could be a better option. I added ADW as I was using it in another Gingerbred device I have and it works very well.
Regarding the phone, your second option should work flawlessly. If you substitute it in the system/app folder and reboot the phone, android will detect the available launcher and use it.

Hi Yekdall,
I tested a bit last weekend. Finally your rom in version 1 (only rooted) is preferred and running.
I replaced ADW with Holo launcher in system/apps. But I did not change the locker because it seems the stock lockscreen can not be removed totally. I deleted the GoLauncher plugins also. At last I put GSAM battery monitor into system/apps.
Then installed 60 apps to the external sd. There were only 4 games not working. On the internal sd I still have 80 mb free. I also installed seeder, maybe it is useful.
All in all I am satisfied. The system is running fine.
But my A7100 has a very weak micro. Do you have any solution to make the micro louder ?

Green Orange N1-Y

Update: Best Rom is Xolo Q1000s ROM : Go to last post
I've scored out most of this thread as I feel the best information is directly at the end of this post.
I have scored it out instead of deleting just in case you find it useful.
Green Orange N1-Y
I thought i'd make this thread to help other users who may search similar to me.
None of this content is my own - i've just spend weeks finding it and thought I might save other people's time.
Many tools and guides linked here may brick your phone.
I recently purchased a "Green Orange N1-y"
A Chinese phone with decent specs, decent build but pretty basic OS.
The phone appears to be the Green Orange company's phone for YunOS but comes with a mish mash of GO's MyUI and YunOs combined- it's bog standard 4.2.1 with useful stuff missing.
The first thing I did was search on this forum about the phone.
Recommended Tools:
MTK Droid Tools: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160490
Sp Flash Tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2650125 (although I used an older version from another website I cannot quite find)
MTK Mobile Uncle: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox&hl=en_GB
My phone was already rooted so I didn't have to root it.
I've read that iroot http://www.mgyun.com/m/en roots the NY-1.
A guide here may also work but that is for the N1 (different phone!)
I installed CWM using the following guide
http://vondroid.com/threads/how-to-...y-mediatek-mtk6589-device.12003/#.VOo6m_msVSF
I used the boot.img from this rom to help make the CWM.
This meant I could make nandroid backups incase anything messed up (and it did!)
To get into recovery
- turn the phone off
- Hold the power button and Vol+
- Vol+- to move, power to select
My phone came with an Android 4.2.1 version or "MyUI".
I used CWM to install This 4.2.2 Version of MyUI
It wasn't great- but it was better than what I started with!
I also installed a developer version of YunOS that I got from here
It ran fine but didn't seem to like any alternative launchers so I went back to the above rom.

Installing Flashing Rom Using Flash Tool.
Many of the roms availalable for the GO NY-1 can be installed via Flash Tool
This video shows method (but for different phone)
Personally I never did it this way as I was scared of losing CWM and/or bricking my phone.
On the forums above there are many roms that flash using the flash tool but I never tried them!
Hope this might help someone
I've had the phone a month now and figured i'd give my verdict on some of the roms i'd tried.
The rom that came with the phone was a bog standard 4.2.1 rom with Green Orange's MYUI OS.
I contacted the website I purchased it from and they told me they put a rom from Needrom on it.
The rom had blatent ad/spyware on it. Whether it was on the needrom rom or the seller - I can't say.
I had a message from to update system.xz (or .xw / .wz)
I did it without thinking and later looked at permissions and noticed this app could install files without permission.
By this time, the app had installed about 5 games apps that had been silently installed.
From bbs.qingcheng.com I found this rom: http://bbs.qingcheng.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=77600&highlight=N1-Y
Pros: Rooted.
Works well with additional launchers/ lock screens
Apps to SD works great
Cons:
Bug where notifications volume doesn't change with silent/vibrate/sound profiles
Apps that use apps 2 sd still use phone storage for files
Some apps forget accounts (OneDrive/ Twitter) if they are moved to SD
AliYun OS
Pros:
Smooth, looks good.
Volume profiles work well
Cons
No alternative launcher/ lock
No apps 2 sd
There are a number of MIUI ports
Pros:
Smooth roms.
All pluses of MIUI
Allows launchers and locks
Cons:
Some incorrectly read memory as 1GB
No apps to SD
LewaOS
Pros: Looks great
fast and everything seems to be decent
Cons
No apps to SD!!
Baidu Cloud
I installed this but it was all chinese so quit early.
Another post (in case it helps anyone)
I was pretty much at the end of my tether with this phone.
Good hardware*, good build, nice looking but poor software.
I was probably going to give up and purchase a new phone (Xiaomi or Elephone)
*GPS is only hardware issue.
Most MTK devices seem to have poor GPS and every rom i've used has given equally poor GPS.
With the Streamlining ROM, it'll take a minute to find GPS and then holds it fine for driving.
Of the roms above MyUI Streamlined version is definitely the best but still wasn't cutting it for me.
The N1 and the N1-Y are different phones but a rom for the N1 will work on the N1-Y.
The only problem is that "sensors" don't work.
I take "sensors" to mean Proximity, G Sensor and possibily GPS.
Most of the N1 roms install and function "OK" - most don't do apps 2 sd properly or have audio issues or language barriers.
Until I found a Stock Android 4.2.1 Rom here for the N1.
I've been using it for 24 hours and it's better than any rom i've used on the device.
Apps 2 sd works fine (I use Link2SD which works great at batch moves), Audio profiles work great.
It has a G-Sensor calibration which (I think) has that sorted.
The proximity sensor was sorted using a "proximity fix" app which meant I no longer had a black screen after finishing calls.
Most issues with other ROMS did not appear on this ROM except GPS and camera
The stock camera app doesn't choose res properly.
Camera MX gives 10m but 13m doesn't work.
GPS is a common issue.
A common fix for MTK GPS is EPO.
This rom wouldn't download EPO files so I manually downloaded them and transferred them via root browser.
i'll test it out later..
Tested out GPS and it wasn't easy but got it working.
i had to download and transfer the MTK EPO files to data/misc manually (i searched it on here)
i also downloaded an app called faster gps and chose my region.
i googled mtk gps and followed multiple guides.
GPS then worked but took about 2 mins to get a lock.
Update: stock camera works fine if aspect is changed so that you have 8m back/ 5m front
Further update
I just managed to install an official xolo rom for the q1000s using cwm.
Everything seems to be working really well - much better than any rom i've used on this device (and I've used lots)
It's still 4.2.1 but all hardware works as it should.
Noticable differences from other roms:
Camera is spot on,
GPS gets a 10s lock (with usual MTK tweaking),
Sound profiles work fine,
Lockscreen notifications work (they don't in most other roms)
Music control in lockscreen.
How to install Q1000s ROM
Xolo Q1000s Rom – Works on GO N1-Y
Requirements:
7zip http://www.7-zip.org/
CWM Recovery
Downloads:
Download Q1000s ROM: http://www.xolo.in/xolocare/software-update?page=3
Instructions:
Use 7zip to open update.zip
Open “META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script”
Delete the checks:
“assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "XOLO_Q1000S" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "XOLO_Q1000S");”
Save inside archive
Optionally you can change the build.prop so it still says GO N1-Y instead of Xolo Q1000s
Transfer to phone
Install using CWM
Issues: will remove CWM but CWM can be easily reinstalled using Mobile Uncle
Hints to make rom better:
Root using iroot
Uninstall xolo apps
GPS: Get MT GPS & Faster GPS – 10s lock!

This will not flash unless you follow steps above

If you have problems installing the Xolo Rom, this may help:
I tried flashing some Xolo custom roms (with 0% success!) and had to use SP Flash Tool to flash the original rom back onto the phone.
When I went from the MYUI Stock Rom to the Xolo Rom -> I received a boot loop
I then installed the MYUI Streamlined for the N1-Y (http://bbs.qingcheng.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=77600&highlight=N1-Y)
I then installed the Android Stock Rom for the N1 (http://bbs.qingcheng.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=78177&extra=page=1)
I then installed a Samsung imitation Rom (http://bbs.hxzhpc.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=604&extra=page=1)
along the way- I factory reset if it didnt work properly
Then the Xolo Rom worked perfectly.
I have no idea why
Further update
I've moved on from the Green Orange but using it as a spare device/ remote in the home
The best way seems to be to flash a XOLO Q1000s rom using SP Flash tool to make the phone believe it is a Xolo

UNfortunately I can't find a rom that goes beyond 4.2.1

[HELP] Leagoo T5: why is not available any ROM ?

Hello
I've a Leagoo T5 wich use his own Nougat modifiied. TERRIFIC !!!
I'm looking for another ROM wich supporting all feature (also double rear camera and fingerprint reader) because it's impossible to use it.
T.I.A.
Paolo
You can use "MTK Extractor" to extract system.img and other files, you can then modify them, and flash them using "SP Flash".
I recently uploaded a clean stock ROM (LEAGOO_T5_OS2.1_E_20180116) to Mediafire and Needrom.
I've also uploaded a carepack if you are interested in the new ROM, or even for a custom.
The command for fast boot is: fastboot oem unlock

Do you mind sharing please? I'd love to get a working custom rom on this device.
I still can't add links yet, so you will have to Google search: "MTK Extractor". Download it, and then download the latest official ROM, which I have uploaded to Needrom and Mediafire, Google search: "OS2.1_E_20180116".
Extract the "system.img" file from the stock ROM using MTK Extractor, you can then go ahead and make your customization's. System apks are signed and locked, however they can be replaced.
When you have finished, you can use MTK Extractor to create a new system.img file with all of your modifications (including root, if you add it). The size for system.img is 4096mb.
The MTK Extractor tool uses a slider bar and text input for the partition size, the slider is limited, however enter 4096 into the text box (don't delete the text, it bugs).
Enter fastboot (Power + Volume up), third option, then using ADB with command prompt, type the command: "fastboot oem unlock", and then accept.
Now you have unlocked the phone, you can run your custom ROM. In a factory locked state, ROM's will install, but not run.
I forgot to mention my Needrom pack contains MTK Extractor. If you can make roms, there are 3 stock bugs that I would ask you to fix.
1: If the navigation bar is hidden, there is a window transition blip (bottom of the screen) if you swipe to recent apps.
2: If you select the first (bottom left) icon from the lock screen (voice, usually), you get a grey background.
3: Bluetooth scanning sometimes bugs (MAC instead of name), once paired there are no issues.*
* This may be due to my headset, but I remember my TV also displaying a MAC once.
Also, can you align or remove the 4G icon that shows even with data turned off.
Ok... So far this thread seems to be the only one on xda-dev about leagoo T5, which i just buy.
By the way thanks Ferather for pushing the rom on need rom.

Need help
Hi, could you please share the Mediafire link?
Since the last rom update (LEAGOO_T5_OS2.1_E_20180822 aka OS2.1_E_20181025) I post on needrom a moded rooted boot with magisk.
i have this leagoo t5 running this newest e_20181025 but im getting a problem with my front facing camera only displaying like an upsidedown image of the rear camera. please advise on what i can do to fix this
Maybe inconsistence between differents partitions (like boot and system)
If you know what you are doing I will advise reflashing all principal partitions.
But i don't think the phone came like this when new, so someone must have messed something.

LEAGOO_T5_OS2.1_E_20181025.zip -- Original Leagoo T5 ROM
LEAGOO_T5_OS2.1_C_20181025.zip -- Custom Leagoo T5 ROM
No issues, other than the one I have mentioned, which is just an app default.
Enjoy!
hey cool rom bro.
Thank for sharing.
No problem, I thought I would start the ball rolling for customization of the rom, since adding ringtones does not work with the stock rom (media storage app issue I think).
You can permanently edit the rom yourself, which I found very easy. If you want to add apps, simply install them from sdcard or store, then navigate to "/data/app", you will find your installed app or update, with odex files and libs, if any.
I created a temp folder on "/data" called "Working" and copied everything into it, and then setup the correct permissions, and renames, and transferred to either "/system/app" or "/system/priv-app", depending on the app.
A better way to do it, is to use "Lubuntu" from live USB or DVD, and then mount the image and edit it as root: "sudo *file explorer*", in this case "sudo pcmanfm-qt", then create a folder in "/mnt" called "ROM".
Next copy "system.img" to "/tmp", and mount it "sudo mount /tmp/system.img /mnt/ROM", now you can do whatever you like, but make sure to "chown" and "chmod" all your modifications.
Make sure you delete anything you will replace when you transfer, else you might get old unused files (folder merged and non-replaced items remain).
----
If you make edits on the phone using an app, and want to make your own "system.img", use the readback option in "SP Flash Tool".
physical_start_addr: 0xe000000
partition_size: 0x100000000
----
Note: Most non-stock apps *do not* support the triple (3x) camera setup, and will either use the wrong camera or crash.
Yeah I encounter problems too to add custom ringtone and wallpaper but i manage to get over it by changing some files permissions
By the way I am "456456" on needrom, the boot img with magisk is from me
I know the time needed to make a custom rom and I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one trying to mess with this not-bad-at-all cheap phone
There is a possibility of an Oreo port, there is a Leagoo T8s with the the same chip that runs Oreo 8.1.0. I have checked over the rom and it looks possible (based on my basic knowledge).
Cygwin + Cmder, for Android. I made the pack myself, and thought it might help others using Windows who want various Linux tools.
I added Cmder for better console support and easy admin: ---- http://www.mediafire.com/folder/lzsf7xd2wwsm4/Commander
Quick update, will now self configure "/home", added ADB and Fastboot.
