Stuck on gingerbread because of root.

the OTA update wont work and the popup messages are annoying. i was told that it wont work because my nexus s is rooted. how can i make it clean and get it to update correctly?

Just update your ROM really. There is plenty of them out there. If you are rooted you are over half way there. Just flash and enjoy

If you are rooted unless someone else did it for you then flashing a ROM is a breeze. If you just wanna get updated to the latest build then follow the suggestion above. It has what looks like good step by step instructions for you to follow.

forget about that, cuz if u are rooted u have your bootloader unlocked.

download all in a folder, upper right conner click and select download all
wait i will make a zip to make it easier !

umm, my phone isnt showing up in the device manager for some reason. there is no category for "other devices"

put your phone in fastboot mode:
-turn it off
-vol + and power button
-BAM fastboot mode, now plug it in

thanks. but now, after i select amd64 driver and then i click "let me pick from a list of devices", none of the devices say android.

when i click have disk and go to the usb driver folder, there is no items ins the folders that can be selected and used?

i don't know how to root my htc one x.
i got android 4.2.2 on my phone.
i have seen many methods but no one works or i don't know how??
in many methods i see in the device manager the other device with htc in.
i haven't and i don't know how to install the driver??

Yes.. Click on Gain root.... If not works then first click install twrp... Then after this click gain root

yea but when i click the superuser it says that it will push some superuser.zip file in the phone and reboot/
i click ok but when in reboots and try to open i get a phone with on it a red triangle and a ' ! ' ???/
what do i need to doo??
i have only the windroid programm on my pc NOTHING else??

OK.. 1st flash twrp...... Then flash superuser.....
After flash twrp. Restart your phone and make sure to put superuser.zip (not exactly same name)
To your SD card....... I didn't used this tool so far... But it should put that file in your SD card.... If not than you can download it (search chainfire super user in Google) and put in your SD card.... Then switch off your device.... And press home lock volume up key together..... Until you get a screen of twrp recovery...... Then by volume button scroll to update from SD card and use power/lock key to select that file (superuser.zip) and install...... After installing your device will automatically restart..... And your will gain root

You have that tool mentioned in the first link..... Connect your device with that to pc
And there is an option flash recovery... Twrp..... Click on that to flash... After that tell me what happens

i try it i click on the TWRP in the flash recovery section and it says :
this recovery appears to be missing from the data folder??

Are you completely sure that you have unlocked bootloader?

in the bootmenu up in the left corner there is unlocked and i had the screen with 'are you sure that you want to unlock bootloader? i did yes

someone pls fast help mee.
in the idroid steps to root i get to step 11.
i flashed it with TWRP!!
butt when i do recovery in bootmenu i get to the screen where i need to do something with the supersu file!
but i cant do anyting? i can't click to the buttons cant unlock it? what need i doo??

my problem is that when i try to connect my device to the computer trough the fastboot usb the computer is not recognize the device
i have accidently bricked my device
so i own windows 8 and have no idea how to solve the problem

Usually people who flash the wrong TWRP are able to use Buster's recovery method. Did you try that already?

Try using the reset hole on the side of the device and reinstalling the universal naked drivers for your computer.

Anyway u can include specifically what devices this is good for and what exploits if any your using to unlock the bootloader? Id like to try but for my 2 devices moto rzr m (.15 firmware) and galaxy s4 (knox2.0) I'm highly doubting this would work for either (or any Knox enabled phone) thanks!

I bricked my phone cause I completely wiped it and I can't access the recovery.
The only thing I can do is entering fastboot-mode, I already installed these "fastboot adb-drivers".
Now how do I flash a rom in these circumstances?? PLEASE HELP, MY Z3 IS ONLY A WEEK OLD AND I'M POOR MOD EDIT by @gregbradley Rule 2.1

Btw, I haven't unlocked the bootloader..

It doesn't detect my phone, do I have to get it out of fastboot?

Don't worry about that, just follow the instructions. You have to attach it in flashmode not fastboot

You follow the instructions that come up on the screen when you get to the right point.
Just run the software update, click on repair my phone and follow the instructions on how to connect the phone
