Why now our phone is just FRD? New firmware is FRD B395

FRD is the abbreviation of Faraday the factory name of the device. They are probably aggregating updates, just that and nothing else.

I still see all variants, and saw "just frd" weeks ago.

me too , but after I uninstall and install the app the problem solved
if not work for you ,,, you need to write your model manually

FRD is the Chinese international variant of the device. Ignore it.

That's not what I've been told when I was a beta tester.

Unlock bootloader, flash twrp recovery for KK, and flash SuperSU-v2.46.zip from twrp.
Can you send me the links please...
Do I need to root if I just want an official upgrade installed in my Mate 7-L09...firmwares that are from their website but not showing on OTA...

No you don't need root or unlock bootloader. It's from their website. Be case full though. The firmwares on the website look confusing. Don't flash wrong region firmware or for other model. You better download the packages from here. If you have doubt ask which one you need to download.
Thanks...how to know which region if not indicated in phone

Are people happy with this or the 5.1.1? Who has the best management of battery life ? If a lot are happy with 4.4.2 then I can opt to stay...but if 5.1.1 is better from security, battery life and app management then I can swing for the update...thank you

OTA Updates?

EDIT: On Oreo now.
EDIT:
Is you're stock at an "old" version and the "normal" way of updating via OTA dosn't work try this:
Go to system update setting,
Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select download latest full package.
That should give you the latest Nougat updates.
For Oreo: Try to use HiSuite
Not all countries receive updates at the same time. Even not all phones in the same country.
If you have automatic update enable you'll receive a notification.
Hope so your model belong to the UK (Not sure). If it is UK model, you will get the update within the first batch of release.
If you belong to any other region it takes time. But you will get it for sure.
Depends on the sponsors in your region, your carrier...

No, my model don't "belong" to the UK. I live in Denmark and bought the phone in Denmark.
Don't know if you mean UK model as in European model.
I bought the phone off-contract (it's not branded it anything), so it's not depending on any carrier.
Well I as have understood it, there is no UK version, only a European version (for Europe).
I have the same model and got the b120 update a few days after it was reported here (i guess most here have the US model). The b150 seems to take longer though

Strange? I received and installed B160 and phone info reports I'm on android 6.0
I have model frd al10
Does this mean higher ota version number not necessarily higher version of Android?
Seems like there are 3 versions (regions) of Honor 8.
EU, US and Chinese versions. (32 and 64 gb)
Anyone knows or can confirm which models have what versions of Android, as the latest available as we speak?
Seems like the EU (FRD-L09/AL19) version is running Android 6.0 - B120 (unbranded - not carrier depending)

All are running in 6.0 update. However some region would have got 6.0.1 update. Some regions would have not got it.
Always there will be one incremental update difference (maximum) between the regions. As all regions wont get the update in the same time.
Ok, let me put it this way: Has anyone with the FRD-L09 model received the B150/6.0.1 update yet?
B141 is out of the box. B150 is slowly being distributed still.
I don't think Asian and EU/US release codes are the same.
India 32GB = FRD-L02 firmware so there's more than 3 regional firmware types
The latest firmware for L09C432 is B131 and that is the EU region, L09C636 is Asia, L09C185 is Africa/Middle East, US is L04, India is L02.
Is not just the modell like L09 that says where your phone is from, is the Cust, like C432, C636, C185, then there is Branded phones like C02 is Vodafone, C55 is TIM Italy and so on....
So for your version if u are from Denmark u should have C432 the latest is B131.
Then we have China modells like AL10 and DL00, C10....
U have a thread with latest firmware here.

Yes, I have the C432 model. However my current build is: FRD-L09C432B120, and there is no update, if I check with the "Updater". The phone was shipped with version FRD-L09C432B120, so so far I haven't installed any updates...

It might be a Beta version. Wait for the bugs to get fixed and get a stable update as OTA
If you need now, you can update manually.
B150 is on the way. Major release.

Which model to chose with Firmware finder for BLN-AL10?

Hi all
I have a BLN-AL10 Honor 6x which I bought few months ago and never used.
With the original firmware I tried Firmware Finder, choosing another model and I had the international version.
After that I went back to the original version, the phone updated itself to Nougat and now I am not certain if I still can make it international version.
Please, advise me, can this be done after upgrading to Nougat? If yes, which variant to chose for BLN-AL10?
Thanks in advance,
Janos

i don't recommend to do that in emui 5.0
possibly brick your device, making it unusable

Rebrand means you have to rebrand it to us variant firmware...
For this you have to flash us variant firmware .....
Ok, I do understand, As for now I have unlocked bootloader and already installed TWRP.
I have the latest update of the emui 5.0.1 software.
Do I have to directly flash the update.app from honor system recovery or the update.zip from twrp. Any need to downgrade first or just flash the latest us firmware?

Its kind a complicated process....
You will need some files
Do not perform rebranding if any file missind..it could brick your phone...
Search for rebranding guide in this section .....you will find that
find it, thank you

Surely, no!
How it can be safe, if you want install it without rebranding?
Huawei approved it to all, that means no imei filter.
You are using FF that points to ROMs on HiCloud instead of waiting official way. So you must be careful and know what you are doing.

When it checks by IMEI and shows that it is authorized it checks if the update was authorized by Huawei, since it is a different "brand" I wouldn't suggest installing it but the "update.zip" is pretty much the same across all regions, it is the data and hw zips that contain most of the stuff that is different for different regions, for myself I am waiting on the official c567 Oreo to hit (I'm running the beta right now), with new regions showing up on ff now every few days, it shouldn't be long till the Oreo official updates have rolled out to all the regions.
