Hello all... I have a galaxy s6 sm-g920f international unlocked, using android 7.0 BTU firmware updated to newest.
I have been with Cricket for 3 yrs, but currently outside the US for 2 months and I allowed my account/phone number to become suspended. So, I am using whatsapp without an activated sim installed.
All previously working contacts in whatsapp are still working normally by wifi, however I am finding that there is now no way to message any new contacts that I add to the phone.
I mention the state of the phone and the sim since someone I know has suggested that maybe the lack of an activated sim/mobile account is the reason that the app is not recognizing new whatsapp contacts.
Anyone have any idea what is the reason for this?

has anyone succesfully used viber on their note 10.1 from verizon? The main problem is that I cannot activate because the tablet cannot receive text messages or even calls.
I'm not a Viber user, but it looks like you can only call other Viber users on Android. I would suggest installing Groove IP after you set up a free Google Voice number and then you need only input you Google Voice account info without worrying about VOIP settings. In addition to being able to make phone calls, you'll be able to get free text messages via Google Voice. The staff at Groove IP went out of their way to solve a VOIP issue created when JB 4.1.2 rolled out, buying a Note to have the ability to resolve the problem. Here's a link to their post with a download link to the modified Groove IP program for the Note running JB. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2107867&page=5&highlight=groove+ip Here's their download link. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8eaPs_MnhKoS2tYV2NKWW9pYVU/edit?usp=sharing if you like the program, support the developer by buying their paid version and thanking them in the thread I've linked. They really went out of their way to quickly fix an issue they didn't create, which happens a lot with OS updates.
I don't know verizon device...
But I did activate my friend N7000 without simcard attached to it. The simcard was at another phone.
Basically it will just send msg to the number you registered. Where the simcard is, it doesn't matter.
I did this around 6 months ago, I m not so sure whether it is still working with current viber updates or not.
U can try.

Hi,
I have a problem that someone here might be able to help me with. I have recently moved between countries (say from country A to country B). I keep WhatsApp under my phone line in country A, because the vast majority of my contacts use that number to contact me. I still pay a small monthly fee to keep the line. Initially I had no problems with WhatsApp, I simply inserted the new SIM card from country B into the phone I brought from Country A.
However, now I have bought a new phone (Moto X 2013 (=no SD slot) and I am trying to link WhatsApp to my usual number, in country A. Even though I still own that line, I can't receive any SMS/calls from it in country B. Unfortunately, WhatsApp doesn't let me use alternate methods of verification. I am stuck with using my old phone (Galaxy s3 mini) for WhatsApp.
Is there a way to move WhatsApp from my old to my new phone, in a way that no verification is required?
I have the same problem with Telegram, but (unfortunately) my contacts use WhatsApp the most.
Both phones are rooted. The new one has the bootloader unlocked. I am willing to tweak these features if necessary ( I will need proper guidance though, I have never played wit them before).
Thanks
Hello! I have 2 phones, both samsung. I live in Sweden. On the one that has the swedish number viber works perfect. The other one has a romanian number and until a while ago viber was working perfect , but now...it's always disconnected! If I click on it...it's connecting, but like this I never get the messages, so no notifications
You're going to have to email the developer on playstore for that one. It is possible that it just needs an update and for whatever reason it's only affecting one carrier. Unless you've recently made some modifications on your own to your device
Hello I am new here and not sure if I am posting it in the correct section of the forum. Anyway, I just purchased an unlocked ZTE Primetime K92 tablet that was on the AT&T network.
The SMS messaging app which has an icon which says messages, when I launch it is AT&T messages and requires login or registration with the AT&T account info. I am now using this tablet on the T-Mobile network and trying to find an SMS messaging app that will use the phone number assigned to my sim card and hence to the tablet.
I have replaced my old device which was getting SMS messages because it would only attempt connection at 2G speed which is now no longer available from most carriers. I have also downloaded SMS apps that I found and were either incompatible or did not work. the tablet is running Android 7.1 and I was trying to update it but could not find how to do so.
Can someone help either to get the version of Android upgraded or a SMS app that will work, as I stated want to use the native number for my sim card and not register to get a new number.
Thanks in advance
Device/Sim Setup: Sim Unlocked ATT S22 Ultra on SM-S908U1 firmware with eSim set for T-Mobile and physical sim ATT.
Issue: If T-Mobile is set as the primary sim for calls/data, Google Messages (version that came with the phone) cannot send replies to group messages that include my ATT number unless I switch the primary sim to ATT. The same happens if ATT is the default sim for calls/data and I try to reply to group messages that include my T-Mobile number.
Troubleshooting: I tried Google's recommended fix for Google Messages on the S22U, but it did not resolve the issue. I also
Other Options: If I use Samsung Messages or Textra, I can respond to group messages without issue. Although, both of the aforementioned apps work, I prefer Google Messages.
Question: Is this expected behavior? If not, is there a fix for this issue?
Thanks.
Unfortunately I have the same issue with google messages on S22 Ultra. But it works just fine with dual sim on pixel 6.
I think its because of the samsung sim manager setup
