Hi All,
I have a recent thread on Kenwood DNR935WBT displaying the 'system rebuidling' error. I thought of building on that and making my question more general.
I am not sure if you are able to answer and if this is the wrong forum, I apologise.
Do any of you know whether there is a process to look at the internals -mainly the storage - of a car stereo using its USB port? I am sure it requires a piece of software. Any of you know what it might be?
My plan is to get access and try out some steps mentioned on an earlier similar thread to troubleshoot this 'system rebuilding' error on a Kenwood DNR935WBT car stereo.
Thanks!!
Guy

I found a thread for another model of Kenwood stereo and use the search feature to search that thread for posts with the words "system rebuilding"
Here are the results, maybe some of the posts in that thread will help you figure something out. If you read and dig deep enough, long enough in that thread, you just might find something.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=441885044
There are some programs/tools and/or some files mentioned that can be placed on a USB drive that can be used to repair the software installed on the device. You might find explanations of how to reflash/update the firmware, then all you would need is the firmware for your specific model.

Hi there
the company that i work are developing an android based eco drive system. and i have been asked to do some research on it
the first obsticle we will face is actually connecting the device to the can bus. I have found a bluetooth however, im wondering wether this will work and wether there is a better way this can work
the system will have to work on almost any android device this is why i believe that the bluetooth system will be the best
also can any one direct me to a half decent Android dev site. i am a complete beginner with android development and really have no clue where to start and google is being proper vague
i hope someone can help :-S

Hey,
I have worked quite a bit with CANbus and I am aware that there are some good Bluetooth based solutions for linking to the vehicle.
Be aware though that CANbus is hit and miss with data and it is completely dependant on the manufacture what data is exposed to the CANbus, so certain vehicles may not have all the data you require.
As for Android development, best place to get started is the Androids own Reference, examples. I would post a link but I am new here, so just google Android Development and it'll be the top result.
Other than that I can only suggest googling/youtubing tutorials like with any other development.
Hello everyone.
First of all, I would like to point out that this is my first time posting here, and I have searched the forums. Although this place is simply huge and very hard to understand at first, I tried searching, and read the 2 sticky posts in this section.
If I still made an error by opening this thread, I sincerely apologize and request you do not hold it against me.
With that said, I will ask my question.
I am trying to do something that I believe has yet to be done.
I would like to mirror my Galaxy S4's screen to a tablet, and to be able to control my Galaxy from the tablet.
Here's why.
My plan is to purchase a tablet and place it in my car. This tablet will be anchored to the car's systems (Power, OBD2 Adapter, etc.) and will be un-removable.
The point of this is to minimize handling the phone while driving, by using the tablet to control the phone.
Nowadays, I have a small cellphone mount that is okay, but it requires placing the phone in it, and taking it out when I leave the car, and I would like something permanent.
I want to get into my car, plug the phone to its charger (or not if I don't need to charge it), and forget about it. Once the phone mirrors its screen to the tablet, I would like to be able to control my phone (answering calls, navigating, etc.) without actually using my phone.
So far, after many, many, MANY searches over the web, I have found apps that allow mirroring but without the control i'm looking for.
I tried thinking about other options, such as Chromecast connected to a small LCD screen, but that still doesn't give me the control I am looking for.
I even thought about trying to learn how to create Android apps by myself in order to make an app for this, but i'm just not good at learning, and have no idea on how hard is it to create an app anyway.
So, what i'm searching for is knowing how can I do this, if this is possible at all.
Will it require an android tablet? if so, which version of android is the minimum required? will it require any customization? maybe just an LCD screen with some adapter connected to it?
I am fresh out of ideas but I really don't want to give up.
Please help me!
I hope I explained myself properly, and if I did not, I sincerely apologize.
Best regards,
DC.

Interesting and tricky "project".
You may read and/or ask in the Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506 > Galaxy S 4 General > Screen Mirroring on Galaxy S4 [+Games] thread.
Not exactly what you need, but the users there seem to have innovative ideas, and may help.
Alternatively you can ask in the [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S4 | Ask any question | Noob friendly. thread.
Thread closed ... thank you !
I recently purchased a chinese stereo headunit for my vehicle to replace the oem one that was defective and i am surprisingly very happy with everything on it except there is one annoying item that I would like to remove. The unit is running android pure 4.4.2 and there is this microphone icon that is on every screen that you can touch and speak to. I assume that she is there to provide guidance to wherever you wish to go in the system by voice application. The issue is she speaks chinese only and i have not found a way to disable her or remove her. i wish to remove her completely or at least put her away. Is there anything that you guys and gals out there may know that could help me? Anyuthing useful would be greatly appreciated. I am new to the forum and to android so pardon the "nube" please. lol
Hi there and welcome to XDA.
I didn't find any info related to your problem sorry. Try on this forum maybe you can find your unit specifically there:
> Android Auto > Android Head Units
You'll have to create an account to post in the main forums if you have any other questions.
Good luck
Hello, the model of my radio is from the manufacturer wondefoo and it is the one that brings the px6 processor with dsp and all the extras, my question is, the opening of the vehicle doors marks them wrong, that is, it does not detect open doors unless it has the lights on, and when you turn them on, it marks all the doors open for a moment, it happens the same when changing from high to low lights and vice versa, does anyone know how to solve this? It brings the simple brand can bus module and the car is a citroen c4, failing that, if it cannot be fixed, how can I deactivate the door screen so that the stroller is not constantly coming out every time I change the lights?
Please forgive my English as a translator.

You Have an HXD MTCD/E.
The issue might be can bus module type and/or Can Bus selection in factory settings.
I've requested a moderator to move this thread to MTCD Q&A, you might find answers from someone else with the same CAN bus - Car model. Have you searched the forums for your query
Search results for query: citroen c4

Yes, I have looked for it and it seems that it has only happened to me, neither does the seller know anything about that, my car is a 2006 citroen c4 with all the extras, if you do not see a solution I would like to know how the door screen is deactivated , Thanks for everything.

I appreciate your help, it is very difficult for me to find information in this forum because everything is in English and I do not understand anything, I thank you for guiding me, I know that this is the most complete forum in this matter and we will surely find a solution thanks to you.
I have looked in other forums in Spanish but everything is very scattered, I think that the can bus module has an error and that is why this happens, but I do not know if it is possible to update this to fix it.
Please if this post is moved to MTCD ... put the link here. Cheers and thank you again.

Im trying contact with seller, in this moment their asked for order number.. Any update i'll post here.
Solved, it was the yellow wire of the camera, both sides were being fed 12v when only 1 side is needed (Or reverse light, or brown wire G5).
