First of all, the updated Play Store (v3.9.16) brings with it expanded notifications for Jelly Bean users. Now, the Play Store will notify users of the name of the apps for which updates are available, instead of just saying “x Updates Available”. The notification bar logo has also been changed to the Play Store logo, which looks neat.
However, the most important change in the update is that the Play Store *finally* keeps your position in a list, and does not scroll back to the top, after you check an app description and come back to the list. After the low resolution Google Contacts syncing issue, the Play Store not retaining a user’s position in a list was among the most frustrating bugs plaguing Android users.
Finally, users can now remove apps from the ‘My Apps’ section in the Play Store. You can select multiple apps by long-pressing on them, and removing them by pressing the Trash icon at the top.

Working it on Fit?

When I do download from Google Play 3.9.16 it crashed. I installed gapps again.

And I can install Google Play and open it. I can preview Google Play. When I do download from Google Play, it crashed.

I've tried on CM 10. Perhaps this is the reason?

I'm hoping someone can help me before I throw my nexus 7 out the window I'm on paranoid android 2.2 with gapps ending in "26". When I install this apk for the new play store I get "app not installed, there is already a similar app with conflicting signatures". Now, under downloaded apps in settings I don't even have the play store listed, it's under "all", but not under downloaded where you would normally see it. Someone suggested that I change the apk to "phone sky" and copy it to system/apps....I don't see phonesky anywhere on my nexus 7, but I did rename it and copied it over, it didn't work.Does anybody know how I can install this simple apk? Why it's coming back with a conflicting signature error message? I install apk's all the time, and others that I know on custom roms are not having this issue. I would appreciate any help at all. Thanks!

I havent used a nexus7 or paranoid, but i am pretty sure this method works everywhere..
After pasting this apk into system/app you also need to change the permissions of the app to rw-r-r

Thank you very much! I did end up renaming the apk to "phonesky" since the one I replaced was named phonesky. All is good. Still don't understand why a simple apk wouldn't install, but I'll figure that out later Thank you.

OmniSwitch! No root needed: post 4. Installs & works but FCs on a kill app swipe. This is the only one that does this well. Pulled from 1.3.2 version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620709
If I forget to check for a fix.
Most work on 442, no root needed. The odd/utilities are from cm4.3.
Some do not work on 442 but I thought some on 44 or 422 could use them.

Edit/update
Unrooted users: If you have a version in system/app then there is no point. You can only install the apps that are unique.
Rooted & wp off: You can paste away to system/app & set permissions rw-r--r--. Be sure to rename your original to ...apk.or or the like. Some may be odexed & I could up those files too.
For the odex files go to dev section & find odexed ROMs then use explorer to extract them. There are not many odexed ROMs.
A reboot is needed to install.

Couldn't find a odexed OmniRom. Guess I will have to wait for one or have the non root one not break on closing an app.

I'm confused what this is. I see you say no root in the title but unsure if you need to be unlocked or something. Like the theme chooser apk, I would think you'd need root for that. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

I am just sharing what I found. A lot need no root. Some do. I am not much into themes. Everyone is on their own. I am unrooted & the ones that, at least installed, I have put in a leading character of some kind (but the op apps are a mix). Of such I am trying those out. May report back. Others too can post their results.

The 2 with links work fine w/o root too.

If it will not install then it may work if pasted by rooters!

Hey guys,
There are a lot of posts up on XDA with the Pixel's feature port for the Nexus 5X. But it gets convenient when everything's under one hood. Also not all are technically sound and well versed with flashing ZIPs, wiping the caches and so on. We need it simple! The common language that we all understand is that of apps.
I've come up with a Nexus 5X-exclusive app that puts everything together and makes it convenient for everyone to get all the features of Google Pixel with just a button click.
CREDITS:
theLazyGeek for his flashable ZIP and his efforts that helped extend this project over to the Nexus 5X - a Nexus 6P initiative primarily. Please view his original thread here.
PREREQUISITES:
1. Google Nexus 5X
2. Root Access with SuperSu installed
3. Android 7.1.1
4. Build N4F26I only (make note, otherwise your device will brick)
5. TWRP installed
NOTES:
1. This app doesn't have a roll-back-to-stock feature, though I'm working on it. In the meanwhile if you want to roll back, simply flash the stock 7.1.1. OTA ZIP which you can fetch from here.
2. There are a few features missed out in the package from Pixel XL though I'm working on porting them too. Read below to know more.
3. The in-app download as of now is about 158 MB so make sure you have enough data / internet before proceeding.
BUGS:
1. A weird one in Google Camera app that the HDR icon randomly disappears. (P.S. same camera version from stock) It requires a workaround which will be updated soon. Though, it isn't a bug with the camera. Just that the HDR icon inside the camera app doesn't show up!
2. In case your wallpaper app crashes, just follow,
i. Open any File Manager (preferably get Root Explorer from Play Store)_
ii. Grant it SuperSu access
iii. Head over to /system/app/Wallpapers-wallpaper/
iv. Just tap the Wallpapers-wallpaper.apk and install it
v. Now try setting a wallpaper to set it.
WHAT'S THERE:
1. Pixel Navigation Bar icons + animation
2. Pixel Live Data Wallpapers + Pixel Live Earth Wallpapers
3. Pixel Launcher
4. Blue Theme
5. Google Assistant
6. Pixel Round Icons
7. Fingerprint Notification Gestures
8. Cherry Picks Store that makes it convenient to select custom MODs and install them!
WHAT'S NOT THERE:
1. Night Mode
2. A full roll-back to stock.

Hey mikeprius, kindly head over to Settings -) About -) Build. If it's anything other than N4F26I, it will say that your device is incompatible. Kindly update your Nexus (via an OTA) to the latest build. You can grab the OTA update zip otherwise from here.

Hey throcker, what I meant by brick is soft brick (a subset of which is ANR on boot). And it doesn't mess with the partitions. It includes SystemUI,apk patched which if flashed on incompatible firmware will cause your SystemUI to ANR at every boot! Thanks!

A couple of locations have rules enforced that ban connectivity to the database of this app. One of the reviews on Play Store suggested this method of using a VPN for a workaround. Kindly try it out and let us know. Thank you, edisso10018!

Yeah and editing the build.prop model to LGE is how to get it back at the expense of free unlimited photos storage

Cherry picks gives you ability to install CyanogenMod AudioFX to your stock ROM. It's awesome!

[HOW TO] Install Live Drawings from Note8 without Root

So I just figured this out today, I have made Live Messages/Live Drawings work on the S8 without root.
*This might work on any Samsung phone on nougat, I don't have any other devices to test it with, if someone tests it, let me know*

THIS WILL NOT SHARE DIRECTLY TOO A TEXT FIELD UNTIL WE GET 7.1.1 or 8.0.0. IT WILL SAVE AS A GIF YOU CAN SEND. (I expect 7.1.1 in October because of how similar the Note8 and S8 are so easy port theoretically, also from the lack of updates. Also a Oreo beta should start Mid-October)
Version 2 of this app is just the second update. It allows you to change the resolution of it from Standard to High and also allows you to view past ones. There are probably also some other changes I just haven't seen or looked at. To install, just uninstall the old one and reinstall it. You do not need to toggle secure boot for this.
How to do this amazing thing:
1. Download .zip file linked
2. extract said file
3. toggle secure startup setting on your phone (if its on, turn it off, if its off, turn it on)
3.5. restart your phone
4. Install the 3 APKs
5. Go to any text box and change your keyboard to 'Samsung Keyboard Neural Beta'
6. Set that stuff up
7. Hold down on the button you normally use to access Emojis or settings
8. Select Live Drawings.
9. Draw to your hearts content.

You should look more carefully. The other ways require root. The one on APKMirror is built for 7.1.1 and is missing A required font and such. I had to mod the apk. Also the keyboard wasn't working on non-root because odex files. Here is one that works. So no, it hasn't been posted before for non-root.

How To-
1. If you have previous version installed then remove it first completely (disable and uninstall overlay then restart)
1a. Download and Install this.
2. In substratum select mod (1 or 2) and make sure to activate it.
3. Reboot and Go to manager in Substratum, Enable this mod/overlay and that's it.

Hi folks...
As a title says, its all about Call screen - When you call, when you receive a call or when you are in a call.
This mod comes with a magisk module for easy install/uninstall.
Main motive of this mod is to give a Call Screen of your OnePlus 7 Pro a better view that is missing in stock.
There are two mods - MOD 1 and MOD 2.
Follow Comparison Screenshot below for a reference.
How To Use?
1. Select your favorite mod (1 or 2)
2. Install with Magisk Manager
43 Reboot
IMPORTANT
Whenever you decide to change the mod between mod 1 and 2, Uninstall the previous mod first, reboot and then install other mod.

Is there a way to get this working on OP7 non-pro? I tried both mods and no dice, stock OOS, 10.3.2 AA.

It will not work on non pro as it contains an edited Dialer.apk itself from OP7 Pro. And both pro/non-pro are not similar at all. I hope u got it what i am trying to say.

Now you got me hoping for a standalone zip for OP7 non-pro with our own dialer apk, lol.

If possible, if it is not a problem for the author, knowing what to modify, I could try to bring the mod back to op7 ... I remember a similar mod that I applied on Samsung S2 by modifying the xml "call_card_person_info"

Sure Bro..its just DELETED.xml in xyz and of course i can also make it if u need. Its very close to full screen caller id just smali edits needed. in contacts apk to make vertical crop while selecting an image from gallery for a contact. And also need to edit contacts provider apk to set best Image quality for full screen caller id.
You can check my profile i love android editing stuffs (Retired XDA Recognized Contributor) but time to time in daily life with my family i get very less time for it. So now what i do for myself when needed i share it here on xda
Btw i noticed there is no separate IncalllUI.apk anymore. Dialer apk is everything (linked with firmware files directly). Android is going very strict with each Android version update that we can see by looking at its scratch (source), flashable packages and there system files. And if we talk about OOS then its going the same (in fact more strict).
Update: Edited Sensitive Filenames and path with "DELETED" and "xyz". If you need any help, you can contact me in PM on XDA

If anyone can help to edit Contacts apk to get verticle crop photo............? to complete full screen caller id.

The user I replied to was asking about solutions for non root users. The only solution for non root users is full screen caller ID.

Well bro He was not talking about non root. He was talking about non pro that is OnePlus 7 (not Pro) . I already had discussion with him and now he is working on the same mod for OnePlus 7.
