[Guide] Proper forum manners

Good Day fellow XDA-ian
This would be a guide on how to behave properly on the forum
1. I have a Question!! What to do???
-If you think of a question or need help use the search button first if nothing comes out search google and still if nothing comes out then you can post in Q&A section
-Don't Post vague titles like HELP!, EMERGENCY! or the likes because for one it does not attract people to look at your post instead irritates the viewers. it would be better to be clear in naming your thread example [Q][NAME OF PROBLEM][WHAT ROM]
- Demanding for answers won't do you any good since XDA don't owe you anything

- Hit the thanks button
- Don't post things like the "ROM is great","Thanks for the awesome rom" those post indeed can make a developer happy but pressing thanks will also do the same thing.

-Report the incident using the exclamation button on top of the post
-Don't flame or insult the user everyone was a newbie once

2. I'd like to know if ROM X is better than ROM Y
- Try them yourself! you won't know until you try.One may say that the rom is good but maybe for another user it's not good
- DON'T ask in the Q&A section about "which is better this rom or that rom" because it may hurt the developers feelings if you dont like his work

5. User titles
If you've spent some time on XDA, you'll have noticed there are some titles given to members. Here's how they are given:
- Junior Member - New members with less than 30 (?) posts.
- Member - Members with more than 30 (?) but less than 100 posts.
- Senior Member - Members with 100+ posts.
- Recognized Contributor - A title given to members who have helped people with various problems. You can apply for this position or ask a Forum Moderator, Senior Moderator, Recognized Contributor to nominate you. They don't give it away for free though; you have to meet some requirements.
- Recognized Themer - A member who's known for original themes. You can apply to the Senior Moderators yourself, or ask a Recognized Contributor to nominate you.
- Recognized Developer - A title given to a member for his/her work in his/her device-specific development. You can apply to the Senior Moderators yourself. I don't think anyone can nominate you here. The developer committee assesses your overall activity and decides whether you're eligible for this position.
- Elite Recognized Developer - This title is given to Recognized Developers who have provided outstanding work, way beyond the knowledge of us mere mortals. A Recognized Developer is re-assessed by the developer committee before being given that title.
- Forum Moderator - This title is given to Recognized Contributors who are responsible enough to handle a forum on their own with some other such members of course. They have to fill out an application (which is no longer available now) and then the moderator committee approves of them.
- Senior Moderator - Senior Moderators are in charge of the whole site-wide support for Forum Moderators and nitty-gritty business that Forum Moderators cannot look after.
- Administrators - Next comes the admins who are responsible for everything as a whole. Each look after a specific part of XDA.
- MikeChannon's the dude behind all this. He's the Forum Administrator.
Other titles you may come across are
- Moderator Committee - sits on the Mod Committee
- Developer Committee - as above, but for Developer Committee
- XDA Newswriter - publishes articles for the Portal (front page)
- Retired xxxx - have since officially 'left' their XDA position

Very useful post.. But buddy most of these rules doesn't actually help people convey. There true aspects towards Rom... Single. Button is not a solution I suppose...

Stop the fighting! @abhijaincha: No non-english posts are allowed here without proper and immediate translation. It is a violation of forum rules. Additionally you should check your choice of words when posting. Some of the posts I deleted were borderline abusive.

[Possible forum feature] Rules before submitting a comment.

Just an idea I'm not sure if it is a plausable idea but seeing there is so much chatter across devices regarding updates of ROM/Kernels and asking ETA's it might be worth considering some type of popup for the first post each day for logged in users that states the following :
"Respect the rules of the forums : (Hyperlink to rules)
Remember that many of the developers do this in their own time, please attempt to keep things on topic and don't ask for ETA's Developers will provide any information when they are good and ready.
Don't forget to subscribe to your favorite threads ! So you don't miss a thing"
Do you agree to this ? ( check box required here and a time allotment before allowing the box to be ticked )
This way for users who infrequently check back just to look for free stuff that people have worked hard and post baltently ask for ETA's e.c.t are forced to see some basic rules or follow the URL to the forums rules before posting fodder.
I know this would impact some users but a lot of people are regulars and help out others in threads and contribute, these people would likely just accept this once a day when they log in.
I know it won't stop many but then when a mod does chime in they can say hey look you agreed to play by the rules and still you persist in going OT or asking for ETA's and I'd deem that as fair warning.
Some forums have a rules section but its not very promently displayed nor do many people end up checking them a shorter condensed friendly reminder on first login of a day won't really hurt ?

I think there is lot of rules and regulations are there before submitting a comment.It must be important,because of avoiding such an unnecessary commennts. All comments will be made available to public. Comments sent via online form or e-mail, will be posted on the website. Comments sent via paper will be converted to PDF and then posted on the website. We do not edit personal identifying information from submissions, submit only information that you wish to make available publicly.
The online form is accessed by a "Submit comments" link. Attachments can be included.

Join our WhatsApp group for Mi A1

There is already an Telegram group, so why an another group? Well, because everyone doesn't use Telegram.
But there are few rules for our WhatsApp group to keep it clean and active, if you interested in joining our group, then please make sure you follow them.
GROUP RULES:
1. No off-topic or adult content. Only Mi A1 related posts. *
2. No spamming, affiliate links, promotions or advertisments. *
3. Respect everyone, obey admins. Don't create unnecessary arguments or fights. *
4. Trolls allowed, but don't be racist, or hurt someone.
5. Don't change group name or group icon without admin's permission.
6. Only English is allowed. If u send a msg by mistake in other language, then make sure to provide English translation immediately. In case if you don't know English, then please somehow convey it.
7. A user can send a maximum of 5 pictures related to "Mi A1" in a span of 6 hours to avoid spam. Photographs are not allowed. Instead post them in Off Topic group. *
8. Send SOT images only if you have any query regarding it. Show-off isn't allowed. Maximum of 2 SOT images per user per day.
9. Don't send any mobile update or homescreen screenshots, photos of your back panels, tempered glass or skins. Instead you can say the same thing in text or provide the link. *
10. Don't join both Group 1 & Group 2. If you are in both, then exit from one of them. *
Note:
• Breaking any rule will lead to Public Voting (5 votes Max).
• * will lead to direct kick.
• To post anything against the rules, prior permission should be taken from admins through DM and the message should thus contain "#(AdminName)AdminApproved" tag.
• Inbox admins for any particular queries or for admin specific messages, we might miss reading them if posted in group.

Well the whatsapp group started by fellow xda member ghpranav is full and has very strict rules. If you are unable to get into that group or if u have ever been in motorola family group and want just some casual chat with minimum rules (no disrepect basically) and good tech support.. You aint use telegram so why a such rude reply ?!
Xda is a totall mess and people who have telegram may join for questions and more so then its not needed to create a new thread. Focus on your twrp fix and encryption is working because if you turn into twrp and a pin or pattern is needed, its the same as you use on your lockscreen if you unlock it to go to your homescreen.

This is a forum and people come here to either ask questions or look for answers.
Do you think it's a good idea to come on a forum just to forward people to another place? That requires you to download an app?
There's no reason for anyone to join that group when you can just ask what you need here which is the whole purpose of this forum even existing.
Don't tell @MartinX3 what to do and don't be demanding. You would be helpless without his work.
The only rude person here are you with your demanding attitude.
