WM6 Rom Comparison

Just a quick idea. Would it be possible for a sticky thread controlled by the mods, or their assigned surrogates that would keep a list of the roms that would ease comparisons between them? Possibly with a spreadsheet-like file that would contain version formats, features, etc side by side. As developers create new roms or change existing ones, they could pm those in charge who could make changes to the thread. Discussions would be held elsewhere, this would be fact-based only. Just a thought. I am happy to donate my time to the cause.
There are periodic posts that come along with polls of the latest rom, but the problem is that roms are frequently coming out...I understand that this would be a nice feature, because if you disappear from the forums for even a month you are lost with what has happened since then...if anything I just look at the posts and weigh the comments to see if the rom is good or not...lol there are also stars by a post that hint at its performance...anyways good luck with your request...

Increased Battery Life Tweak

I'm trying to do the increase battery life tweaks shown in the Wiki. I've cut and paste the information below. I do not have an Irsir1 directory in my Sprint Touch Pro. Am I supposed to create one for use with this or do I not need it?
TIA
-----------------
Increase Battery Life
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms] “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1 Change to “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir1\Parms] “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1 Change to “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\PPTP1\Parms] “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1 Change to “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\L2TP1\Parms] “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:1 Change to “DisablePowerManagement”=dword:0
I did.......

Hello perdurabo2,
Could you please direct me to an existing thread asking this very same question? I'd appreciate it, because I searched the Raphael area for a while and couldn't find one.
Also, I'd like to understand what you mean by 'random comments'. I thought this was clearly a question. Hopefully, you can help me with proper forum etiquette.
Thanks!
bump please ...
These are all available in advanced config found here http://www.touchxperience.com/en/advanced-configuration-tool.html

Well said.
I dont understand why someone would waste time typing "go search" instead of helping people out. Isnt this forum made to help?
Someone was helped in a previous post, so I believe it is perfectly fine to tell someone to search. By searching and not creating a redundant post helps keep the board "tidy" for future questions to be easily answered versus creating a new thread.
Take the kaiser section for instance, its full of redundant post's. Wich is typical when a new device has a major release by just about all major networks worldwide. But no disrespect it just gets old when you answer a question millions of times. Like my numerous "lessons" on how to use media net instead of pda personal. I spent much time teaching, and almost 1 year later people still ask how to do this.

Suggestion for DEV subforum

There are at least 4 different models for this tablet, and they are not completely compatible with each other. Therefore, I'd suggest titles for posts in the development subforum are prefixed with an indicator of a specific model number (if applicable) for a mod/kernel/etc.
If done consistantly, this will hopefully make it easier for people to quickly find what might be interested in. I've gone ahead and changed the titles for my recoveries and kernel.
Red5, as you are the designated moderator for the Tab Plus forums, is there a better way to handle this type of thing?
Gary
My suggestion is to start each thread with the model number in brackets, then whatever it is that they are doing (kernel, rom, mod) in parentheses to easier decipher, whatever unique name they want to give and then the date of the last update.
Example: [SGH-T869]-(Kernel) - Super Fast Awesome Kernel by garyd9 (1/5/12)
As I said, this is only a suggestion, but I think this route would reduce the confusion and the time spent looking for the correct thread(s) that each member wants.

[Polls] PIMP MY ROM - Polls Thread [Your Opinion Matters !]

I set up this thread for users of Pimp My Rom to give their opinion about different subjects related to the app, the features I want to implement, pretty much anything I consider worthy asking users their opinion, because in the end, it all comes down to you, the users.
I think that following what the majority of users approves is a good way to improve this project and to get a better idea of how my application is really used and what people think of it.
With this thread, your opinion can really have an impact on the app and the direction it will evolve towards, be it design-wise or features-wise.
If you don't know Pimp My Rom, you can check out the following links :
Original XDA thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908269
Google Play Link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androguide.pimp.my.rom
Website : http://pimpmyrom.org
Please participate to the polls only if you are a user of Pimp My Rom.
Edit : Dammit, I thought multiple polls could be added to a thread, apparently not. I'll create a polling system on the pmr website soon.

*** ~ List Of All The Best Apps For Each Type/Function, Please ~ ***

Hi! Updated to 4.1.2 after lots of pain -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2571305 -- not sure if there's anymore updates you should do
It deleted all my apps, settings, everything when it wasn't suppose to...
Best launcher to download? Just one please.
And the rest of the other kinds of apps?
Links are helpful.
I cannot believe that I'm getting almost zero help as to what are the best apps. For this simple problem. So I made a list that anyone can edit (wasn't sure what site to put it so I put in on google spreadsheets). It's a gift to the droid community!! --
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au_G8juRoIiqdGtURlFqVEdzcHhPdk84NXFyNmVUdHc&usp=sharing
far from completed
Please include links or other really good support when recommending an app that you've meticulously tested (in comparison with other apps of its kind) for inclusion.
You received no help because your question doesn't have an actual answer, or rather: every answer is equally valid as it's a highly subjective question, and the answer depends on each user. Besides, it's open ended (you're asking for *every* single app category out there) and shows a lack of research from your part.
About your rant on that spreadsheet, where you basically say that people pretending there's no "best" don't understand the meaning of "best"... Perhaps you should revise your definition first.
best
of the most excellent, effective, or desirable type or quality.

All that is superlative, and subjective. How do you define that? Obviously it depends on what each user wants. You could say "if an app can do everything, then it's the best!" - but what if it lacks speed? Or security? Or something else? There's always a trade-off, one app cannot be suitable for everyone.
Your list is nice, but it's for you. Other people will disagree. I'd actually recommend discussing those apps your like in this thread, for example, if you want to.
With all that in mind, and considering your question is open ended, I'll try to give you what you need to answer your question yourself (because no one else can.)
You can find a list of launchers here (a quick Google search showed me that.) Obviously, some newer launchers may be missing since new launchers come out often (you can contact the OP if you find any.) I can't help you about "the rest of the other kinds of apps" because I don't know what those are.
If you have something more specific in mind (*what* *you* want app X to do, no "what is the best X,") do ask and give the necessary information and someone will help you out if they know.
