[Q] stock GB - build.prop lines + freeze issue

Hi.
I'm on the stock gingerbread. Have root, v6 supercharger script etc. Working on stock ROM and lg Launcher.
I'm wondering what these lines :
" hs.systemserver=64m
hs.com.lge.launcher2=64m "
In /system/build.prop means, and what effect it can do. I reduced heapsize from 64mb to 36mb to avoid freezes during a heavy multitasking. I use multitasking option in supercharger script. I use some background apps, and there is annoying freezing, and phone is not responding like if a ram policy was bad. It happens under the heavy usage, while using heavy apps (more than one) Phone sometimes reboots during this long freezes, and sometimes after long time wakes up with a screen that some app is not responding (then I kill it and phone is fine)
Can I delete these lines in build.prop ? And do it help in anything?
What else I can do?
Do anybody have an idea why stock GB ROM lags from time to time, and these lags are quite long if happen.
The reason I don't want to change to a custom ROM is that I want to have some things that are stock (dialer, lock screen, notification bar etc.) I would change if they work on miui, or cm7 became stable..
My stock gb rom is fast and not laggy so it's probably an app in background hogging up cpu or ram. Try using a task manager to stop apps you don't need from auto starting and then reboot.
If you are rooted you can also stop lg bloatware from running too.

Yep, i'm working on it, stopping a bloatware, using different Launcher, and uninstalling unnecessary and possible lagging apps.
But, i'm afraid that either there are some malfunctions in the stock software, or I have this occasional lags and memory issues because I didn't do a wipe after the update from 2.2 to 2.3...
No person with such issues that sometimes an app is not responding and Android hangs, lags, not responing, and reboots ?
I must check deeper my problem... Maybe too many apps installed and running in the background...? I will check.. Cause it annoys me quite a bit.
I didn't do a wipe but when I did a factory reset things improved a lot except battery issue which is sorted now so maybe try that option?

As far as I know to Wipe means a factory reset, so I think its the same thing.
You tell that the battery issue is being sorted out by LG itself,.or you mean that there is a solution here on xda forum? Any help will be appreciated. My battery life is fine but reading the battery usage is really messed up on every GB ROM I think. That is what they should work on..

[Q] [HELP] Back key not responding after MIUI flash

My back key doesnt work properly after flashing MIUI 2.4.6 , it was working initially until i started charging my phone. The back key lights up but when i press it,nothing happens. I tested it a few times and im pretty sure it isnt caused by the lag. Same thing happened for the menu key. However,my home key ,vol key and screen lock key is working fine. i tried reflashing MIUI and stock rom but the problems still persist
what should i do??
Edit: i tried the key test function in recovery mode. It couldnt recognise both the menu and the back key

I don't think that is a good advice. MIUI has got it's own task killer.(Long press the homekey_)
And I remember reading somewhere that it is no advisable to go on killing apps and services and tasks whenever you remember to.
I know bro..
It helped me....so i shared..
i was using miui...since a mnth...
sometimes it got too laggy...due to over ram usage....
miui killer didnt solved ma prob.......at all..
my ram usage went to 450mb..nd got unusable...miui task killer...380 mb...
task killer 280......
dats not the prob.
are u still facing back button prob??
It's not good to use the rambo method and kill every activity on your phone. Many of them automaticly restart which needs a lot of battery. If the your phone is getting laggy you probably have many open autostarting activities running all the time in the background. The only thing i use task killers for is to kill apps that run amok. And I suggest one thing I also do on Windows: Kill unwanted useless autostarts, this saves a lot of RAM. If your phone tends to lag because of a lack of RAM I would try to increase the OOM killer values.

Thanks everyone
Thanks everyone for giving ur advice. I found out that is a hardware problem and have since sent the phone for repair at the service center. I reflashed XXKPE AND XXKPH but the problem still persist.
previously, the back key didnt work when using some apps and ya sometimes MIUI is abit laggy

[Q] Any available fix for a persistent RAM issue on 5.1.1 update without rooting?

I didn't know about this RAM issue until I got the update that I, after researching it, understand should fix it!
Most irritating is my launcher and keyboard... they KEEP RESTARTING.
The Keyboard (SwiftKey) even restarts during use. Suddenly disappears for 5-10 sec before I can re-enable it by taping an input-box, and then it takes ~3 sec to reload...
My launcher (GO Launcher) keeps restarting basically every time I use the Home-button (from another, any other app), and when I unlock the phone. :/
Are there any clean fix for this issue?
If not, since I rather not root my device, aren't there any "hack" so I can force given apps in memory?
If I could do that I'd be happy - at least my launcher and keyboard will give me a smooth experience!
Thank you in advance!
Without root you will be out of luck.
Only a custom kernel oder custom rom can minimize the apps preloaded (Google and Samsung apps) and raise the amount of apps the phone keeps on memory.
The only thing you could do is that you disable any preloaded app that you dont need (like Facebook or any other Samsung app).
Get the last update with the new touchwiz (of edge+ and note 5), Ram management is fixed on this update.

Lag problem

Anyone else has had lag problems ?
I don't know if It's just my phone, but for me it's unbearable, Sometimes I have to wait 10 or more seconds until the phone loads all the icons (in the main screen) .
Sometimes I tried to write a whatsapp and I've to wait again some seconds until the keyboard appears. (Even when you start to write doesn't respond, and some seconds after write all the letters the same time).
or if I try to open any app. it's the same .. I've to wait some seconds while the phone is completely frozen.
it could happens in any moment. but it's very strange because the 65% of the time the phone works fine.
I try that don't install heavy app and I don't use the phone to play any game.
I tried to change the settings (Power saving) but in any option this improves.
Anybody has any idea about what could be happening ?
I'm trying to wait until new update and I'm hoping that this improves the performance ... but I'm thinking seriously to sell the phone

the mate 7 is laggy (it's actually a software problem , not hardware, but huawei is not capable of fixing it)
for your particular problem, 10 seconds seems like a lot.
you could try toubleshooting by uninstalling apps.
but the only way to be sure is by doing a factory reset

Yes, I tried to uninstall a lot of apps, For example Facebook (Now I'm using little Facebook), and even I changed the keyboard for the default.
I don't have too much apps installed, some radios, some photo editor ... .
If I restart the phone works fine all the day, but in some hours the phone gets laggy again ...
It's a shame because I like a lot this phone, but I'm thinking to change it !
I don't know what to do because I don't know other similar phone, this is perfect for me .
My mate 7 isn't laggy at all...It's same as note 3 that I have had.
I have L09 never had any lag, everything loads fast, with 0.5 animation speed phone this phone fly.I have it for 1 year and 2 months , not a new user

I think the upcoming marshmallow update will reborn this device again and solve the lag problems.
Until then I really recommend changing to the Google now launcher. It makes a very big difference indeed. I have tried most launchers but I have recently concluded that Google now launcher is best. Set fastest animation speed in developer options as well.
You set Google launcher as default launcher under manage apps under default apps

Thanks a lot , I'll try it !
I don't know if I'll have enough patience to wait until next version.
If I see a good offer before I think that I won't doubt.

Mate7 L09 331 b lollipop root with twrp no bloatware, Nova launcher prime and changes of governor an inteligent mode ondemand... and normal mode with performance governor my Mate is a super rocket!!
El meu anglés es desastrós jajaja
Quelcom m'ho dius per missatge privat... serà millor!!
Finally, I lost my patience besides when I saw this offer.
I hope to receive my new phone and forget this forever.
It's a shame because it has a good hardware, good battery and screen.
I know op may not be interested anymore but if you use twrp to fix permissions this boosts your phones speed a great amount

Can you explain this in more detail?
Best regards!
Yes, can anyone explain this? I had a look and saw the option there. Doing a TWRP backup so I can test it, although on B331 the phone runs nice anyway.
The problem with performance on Kitkat seems mostly to do with the Kernel and how the two processors are controlled.
Edit:
Did some Googling, DO NOT use TWRP to "fix permissions" as it doesn't necessarily fix them, it can brick your OS!
It will brick your phone if you fix selinux permissions but as long as you don't check that you'll be fine
I fix the permissions everytime I restore a back up and I have done boot comparisons and there's a difference
If you do wanna try it you have to go into twrp recovery->advanced->fix permissions make sure selinux is unchecked (it should be by default)
And proceed to fix permissions
I know that it doesn't have relation but since I left to use hangouts the phones started to work better without any kind of lag...

Multitasking ram battery optimizations problem

Hello.
I have a few days a Mate 9 latest version.
* Already tried elsewhere.
Turned off all battery optimizations that could be the problem.
The problem: every few minutes, I do not know if 90 or 120 more or less, even if the apps that I want are locked and protected in multitasking and battery options are all disabled, they will be DELETED from the multitasking. This with more than 2 GB of RAM still free. There is some routine that does this and that brings me the screen timeout always to 1 minute. And every time I have to bring it back to my 15 seconds.
Now you understand that it makes no sense, but no one has experienced this problem? How to solve it?
_Thanks
Do a Factory reset.

Nothing is changed. Maked an hard reset but nothing. After 6 hours, without touch my phone, I see only 5 app opened in multitasking. Initially I had 11 app opened. This with more than 2GB of free ram.
What a delusion. Ram management is really awful.
Seems like a "visible" problem also, because I opened again one of those app and this app was where I had left it. So why the apps disappeared from multitasking?
Other solutions?
Sorry to revive a super old thread but I am facing the same issues here. A particular app I use a lot (Hangouts) keeps getting closed so I am missing notifications even though I have the appropriate settings in Battery option. I tried searching the web for solutions but it looks like there is nothing available to truly whitelist an app from the aggressive memory management algorithms?
