I've got my Bootloader unlock password from the Huawei website.
When I use adb reboot bootloader the phone successfully reboots into fastboot.
But when I try to unlock my bootloader I get:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock my16digitBLcode
...
FAILED (remote: password wrong)
finished. total time: 0.014s
I have enabled OEM unlock and USB debugging
Model: BLN-L21
Build: BLN-L21C432B368
Android 7.0
I also get:
Code:
fastboot oem device-info
...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.009s
and:
Code:
fastboot oem get-bootinfo
...
(bootloader) locked
OKAY [ 0.003s]
finished. total time: 0.004s
Why does it say that my password is wrong?
I've checked the SN and IMEI many times - and even used the IMEI2 and MEID on the Huawei website but I get the exact same unlock password.
The german customer service sent me the same unlock password.
I'm thinking about using dc-unlocker but I don't want to spend 4€ just to find out that it will generate the same bootloader unlock password that I already have.
Would downgrading help?
Or can I use kingoroot to root it?
Maybe FRP is locked, take a look at fastboot mode.

So weird that it keeps saying wrong password... Are you completely sure that it is correct? (I don't think that you can't read, it's just for being sure because that's what the command says)
FRP is unlocked when I have enabled OEM unlock in developer mode.
FRP is locked when I have disabled the OEM unlock option in developer mode.
I've tested it with both options but when I have disabled the OEM unlock it tells me that the command is not allowed.
I have checked the SN, IMEI and the unlock password many times.
I even used the IMEI2 and MEID on the Huawei website but I get the exact same unlock password.
Did you ever figure out what's wrong? I have the exact same problem.
No, unfortunately not.

How much did you pay for it and are the 2 bootloader codes totally different from one another?
Can you check if there is a pattern between the two when you convert them to hex?

This is because honor has disabled bootloader unlocking in all its current phones.
you will no longer be able to unlock it anymore...

My carrier (C Spire) has found a problem with the device on their network that makes the device lose it's signal all the time. They claim it is a device problem anyway. I have unlocked the bootloader on the phone, but have not flashed any roms or made any other changes to the phone. Just the unlocked bootloader. They have said that since they know it is a problem with the device, they will let owners come in and exchange the phone for a Galaxy SIII free and clear. The only stipulation is it has to be in like new condition. My phone is perfect except for the unlocked bootloader. They'd probably never notice if it wasn't for that notification screen when the phone reboots that would tell them. I need to relock the bootloader to make that screen go away.
So, my question is, how do I do that? I've tried doing 'fastboot oem lock' but that doesn't work.
This is what I get when I try:
Code:
C:\Users\adear\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot oem lock
...
(bootloader) FAIL: Please run fastboot oem lock begin first!
OKAY [ 0.014s]
finished. total time: 0.016s
If I run the command as it suggests I get:
Code:
C:\Users\adear\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot oem lock begin
...
(bootloader) Ready to flash signed images
OKAY [ 0.246s]
finished. total time: 0.248s
I'm not sure what to do to get it to lock again.
Can anyone please help?
The problem is, you've unlocked it 'officially' from Moto... so it's registered in the database as unlocked.
You can try to change the boot logo, I haven't tried yet... Supposedly you can to get rid of that annoying screen.
Maybe you will just have to take it in and hope they don't reboot it. Kinda sucks that we have official unlocks now, because they can now easily track who has unlocked their phones and who hasn't :/
According to Moto, you can relock the bootloader, although the warranty remains voided. I know Moto knows about it, but I doubt very much that the carrier is going to go so far as to check it.
I just need to know why the 'fastboot oem lock' command didn't work. And what I can do to relock it.

It makes sense tho. Same process to relock as it was to unlock. Give it a shot, what do you have to lose.

From here, if I do 'fastboot oem lock' again, I get "Re-Lock Failure. See display." On the phone's display, I get:

Re-lock failure
Hrm. I was poking around Moto's FAQ's and community site, and they talk about relocking - but not in detail unfortunately. They cryptically state that they will not release any stock recoveries at this time - so perhaps if you don't have the stock recovery, you can't relock...?
I would post up on Moto's forums or call their support... Not sure how much help they will be, but their website leaves much to be desired about the relocking process...

In short, in order to relock the bootloader, you have to flash signed software in the process.

What's the easiest way to unlock bootloader?
Sent from my C2104 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hey dude...
I m facing the same problem....till nt getting the success...one thing i observed, when i connect xL to flashtool for unlocking the bootloader, then flashtool shows my imei 14 digits instead of 15 digits...it doesnt show last digit...i m nt able to copy, paste, add or delet any digit...Have u observed this?
If u got any solution, then plzzzz tell me...eagarly waiting for reply...i want to unlock my bootloader again...plzzz help me...
make sure your bootloader unlock is allowed. If yes then use flashtool to unlock instead of cmd.
Hit thanks if it helped
Hey abhi...thanx for ur reply...
But i think u read my question properly....i tried flashtool...flashtool shows 14 digit imei instead of 15 digit...so i m nt able to unlock my bootloader...it only prompt error...and also their is no option for editing imei on flashtool means adding...copy..paste...etc..etc...
And here is the screenshot of my bootloader status...
Bootloader unlock allowed...
I remember that I got the same problem.. But that was a one year ago. If you have 14-digit IMEI, you should add one additional digit.. But i don't rebember which.:silly:
Plzzz dude...just tell me which digit and how can i add that digit....?
Plzzz remember...i want to unlock my bootloader...
I tried all the ways...but till nt getting success..
Waiting for positive feedback...and in advance thanks...
Oh sorry, mate.. My mistake. I have 15-digit imei. I had problem with sony official unlock bootloader tool, because there was 14-digit box. Then I just didn't write the last one. And then everything worked.
EDIT: Man, on that screenshot U've got 15-digit IMEI code!
Its ok dude...
My screenshot shows 15 digit imei...u r rgt...but my problem is that when i connect XL to flashtool for unlocking bootloader, then flashtool shows 14 digit imei..and fladhtool doesnt provide any option relate to imei..means for adding last dogit..copy.. Paste...due to detecting incorrect imei, i m nt able to unlock the bootloader4...
If u have any solution, then plzzz help me...

I mentioned HTC because that happened to me with my One X and Butterfly, similar fastboot error, so I assumed so Sony is the same.
I believe you have to go to the Sony website and get another token:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
New token will be the same. Give the forums a search you have to put the key in a text file in a folder in flash tool to re-unlock. There is a tutorial somewhere on this forum. Use search see if you can find it. If not I will post the link for you when I'm on my pc later.

I have the exact same problem surely someone must have a idea?
The OP has already unlocked his bootloader, relocked it and is attempting to unlock it again via flashtool.
There is no need to get a new code from Sony the old one will do.
Here are the instruction on how to correct Flashtools folder structure so that it will work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51604352&postcount=22
For the rest of you, first of all ensure that you are unable to unlock the bootloader first by dialling
*#*#7378423#*#*
then going to service info and configuration. The last line will tell you if the bootloader is able to be unlocked or not, and if it is already unlocked.

And I hope that you were smart enough to do a factory reset
I recently bought a refurbished pixel 2 from a phone repair shop and i went through the process to unlock the bootloader, enabling dev options, enabling oem unlocking and usb debugging, ect. but when i boot into the bootloader and run
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
, it throws an error
Code:
FAILED (remote: 'Flashing Unlock is not allowed')
fastboot: error: Command failed
but when i run fastboot flashing get_unlock_ability it returns
Code:
(bootloader) get_unlock_ability: 1
OKAY [ 0.000s]
Finished. Total time: 0.000s
result of 'adb shell getprop sys.oem_unlock_allowed' is 1
result of 'adb shell getprop ro.boot.cid' is 00000000
im running linux and ive tried running the command as sudo and just launching a root terminal to no avail. If anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated
EDIT: Now im even a bit more confused. i ran
Code:
fastboot oem device_info
and it returns
Code:
(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
[B](bootloader) Device critical unlocked: true[/B]
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: true
OKAY [ 0.000s]
Finished. Total time: 0.000s
so if critical is unlocked why cant i just unlock the bootloader?
How do you know that the pixel was refurbished? I bought one (as new) as well but I fear that it might be refurbished. Is there something to look up in order to check that?

any phone this old listed as new or brand new is 100% refurbished in china using the ****tiest parts and then boxed in a really poor recreation of the stock box and shipped off to a distributor in your country
Any update? Same issue here
maybe you need to use the "oem unlock" command instead of "flashing unlock".

I also have the same problem
is it possible to unlock via some type of APK without PC
I know that the refurbished pixel 2s that Google sends as replacements have locked bootloaders.
Also the Verizon wireless variant of the pixel 2 has a locked bootloader
So it could be that who ever refurbished your device locked the bootloader permanently

I also have the same problem. Reported it to google and they have no solution at this time.
Can I root it with magisk without having to unlock the bootloader first? I know I won't be able to flash twrp to the recovery image though.
If something wen't wrong, could I sideload the last ota and get everything back as long as I can boot to the bootloader?

oem unlock gives the same error
I'm just grasping at straws here, but did you try *relocking* the device from the critical_unlock, and the unlocking it with the regular unlock command?
I'm on a Pixel 2 warranty replacement from Google directly. The OEM Unlock option is enabled in developer settings as is USB Debugging. The computer has been authorized by the Pixel.
I'm getting those same errors. It's definitely not a Verizon Wireless phone since it's a Canadian phone sold directly by Google.
I'm guessing there is no workaround for this yet. Why would it be listed as bootloader unlock allowed in developer options yet fail when you go to fastboot flashing unlock?

maybe there is some sort of failsafe in the kernel that stops it from being bootloader unlocked if a component on the board has been replaced? or maybe google just says "frick you, pay more money if you want root"
but that's just a theory.... A GAY THEORY
Hi I just bought a refurb Pixel 2 on Amazon. When i go to developer options I see the "OEM unlocking" option is completely greyed out. Even after i enabled usb debugging.
Does that mean that my bootloader is impossible to be unlocked? And how is one able to know if they have the Verizon variant?

The refurbished units whether is a Google refurbished or Verizon unit all have locked bootloaders [emoji58]

This is why I regret doing a warranty through Google Fi. I even had it replaced twice. Both times, the bootloader was locked. It appears to be unlock-able, but then this happens.
Does anyone know if this is limited to just the Pixel 2? I never had this problem with the Nexus 5X phones I had.
