I've been trying to get Nethunter to work on top of cyanogen mod on my Nexus 7 (2013) and have encountered many problems
I've tried many guides featuring similar procedures and still ended up with the same result
(I first set up basic stuff ie; TWRP, rooting etc.)
It technically 'works' but when I first boot into it via multi-ROM I get the boot anim but instead of blue its yellow-orange then light blue
'baby blue' colored screen appears then after a bit it goes to the setup where all colors once blue are now orange (loading icons, font)
and on top of this it is unbearably laggy to the point where it takes about 10s for my touch to actually do something (this is also apparent in loading anim)
After spending yesterday and the entire day today (6:00am to now; 8:42pm) in and out of adb and TWRP I am finally going to ask here (did not have luck with google ) Demonstration of my problem (made a video of it but I cant post links)
I would love some sort of advice here and if there is none someone please tell me that I can't fix it and to stop trying or I probably wont.
A guide I have tried
#################################################################################################
"Step 1: Installing MultiROM :
Install MultiROM manager from Google Playstore
1) After installing, Open it.
2) Tick all the Check-boxes
3) In the last one choose the correct Kernel (Kitkat or Lollipop)
(WARNING: Check the Kernel Status: It should be in Green Letters, but if in RED then, ask about it in the comments section)
4) Tap Install
5) This will do everything for you, sit back and relax, it will take time.
6) After everything goes right, you should have:
A modified custom recovery,
A boot manager at start-up that asks, which ROM to boot into. (Press cancel so it won't automatically boot into the Internal ROM)
The same application, in the internal ROM, which manages every ROM, and Check for Updates.
Step 2: Downloading CM11-M11 ROM:
We will be using this because it is highly compatible with MultiROM.
Goto this website, and Download CM11 M11 ROM for OnePlus.
Click here for WiFi Model Nexus 2013
Click here for 4G/LTE Model Nexus 2013
Click here for LG Nexus 5
Go to your default search engine (Google) and search this ROM for your Device if not listed here.
Step 3: Downloading Kali NetHunter
Go to the Official website of Kali
Scroll down to the bottom and download the correct image (actually .zip) for your Device.
Don't use the Windows Installer.
Step 4: Downloading SuperSU.Zip and BusyBox:
Download this Super User update.
Also, Download BusyBox from Playstore or from here
Step 5: FLASHING CM11-M11 as a Secondary ROM:
After all of your Weapons are ready, it's time to FIRE. (I mean Flash)
Move all the items to the root of your SD-card in your Device (or any other Folder)
Reboot your system to Custom Recovery. (Vol-Down + Power, when device is turned off)
Once booted, go to Advanced, then MultiROM settings, tap on add ROM
Tap on Next. (Or choose where do you want to install the ROM Eg: A Flash/Pen Drive)
Choose ZIP file
Choose cm-11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-xxxx.zip (The ROM you just Downloaded)
Swipe to Confirm
Once Finished, Reboot system.
------------------------------------------------Flashed--------------------------------------------
Use the MultiROM manager at Start-up to boot into The Flashed ROM.
Go out there and explore!
Install BusyBox, open it and then Install it. (It may/will fail because the system is not rooted) (Don't worry its temporary, you may even skip this step)
Once you are happy, and want to move on, Follow the next step.
Step 6: FLASH KALI NET-HUNTER!!!
Reboot to Recovery.
Go to MultiROM settings.
Tap on 'List ROMs'
Choose the CM11-M11 ROM
Tap the small button stating 'Flash ZIP'
Choose The Kali Nethunter.zip you just downloaded.
Swipe to Confirm Flash
After flashing, Reboot system.
-----------------------------------------FLASHED-------------------------------------------------
Congratulations you Successfully Flashed Kali NetHunter!!
Boot into the ROM
EXPLORE! Go Go Go!
Sort things out, install necessary apps, play-store, Google services etc..
Tap on KaliNetHunter Home (App) and Explore it too!
However any service provided by it won't WORK, because the ROM is not Rooted.
Then what are we waiting for? Let's gain the root access.
Step 7: Rooting the ROM:
It's too easy! (Now that you have practice)
Reboot to Custom/TWRP Recovery.
Go to MultiROM settings.
Then to 'List ROM'.
Choose the same ROM
Then to 'Flash ZIP'.
Choose The SuperSU.zip that you downloaded."
Swipe to Confirm Flash.
After the Flash Reboot System.

EDIT: I FIXED IT!!!
SOLUTION:
I reflashed Cyanogenmod and everything worked
##########################################
EDIT: None of the nethunter tools work instead opening in terminal with no commands. probably should have expected this
Hi,
I want to upgrade my Nexus 5 (Android 6.0.1, not rooted) to Android 7 unofficially, so I downloaded Santhosh's Android 7 Build for Nexus 5.
After downloading it, I booted my Nexus 5 (connected to my MBP) to fastboot then using Terminal I had unlocked the bootloader, and I flashed the latest TWRP image for Nexus 5 to my Nexus 5. After I rebooted my Nexus 5 to recovery where it showed a screen (postimg(dot)org/image/rw3zdlmyt/), after which my phone kept rebooting in a boot loop.
I booted to fastboot after using the key combination, and used fastboot to erase the recovery and the system.
Now I'm all ears to get my Nexus 5 to Android 7.
Please help me out. I appreciate all your help.
Thanks,
Agneev
I recommend flashing back to stock, make sure everything works on stock, flash twrp, boot into recovery frlom fastboot right after flashing TWRP.

How should I flash back to stock since I've used the fastboot command fastboot erase system and fastboot erase recovery. Does my erasing of these 2 internal partitions change anything?? Since I've erased recovery, how do I get stock recovery back??
P.S. Thank you for replying.

Now after successful stock flashing...
FOR FLASHING ANDROIND 7.0 AOSP

2)open nexus root toolkit and first unlock bootloader(take full backup of internal storage before unlocking)..to take backup when your phone is bricked just enter in bootloader mode, launch nexus root toolkit,go to Advanced utilities and click custom recovery under fastboot boot option..
After booting in two recovery connect your phone to pc..and you will be able to see your internal storage in pc..
3) after bootloader unlock..use Root option in toolkit and download necessary file it it says to download....allow debugging if pop-up come in your phone after connecting..

Thank you for the reply, as I currently don't have recovery mode installed so does that change anything?
Also I'm flashing Android 7 directly, so if there is any other thing I need to know, please tell me as I would appreciate that.
To flash directly to 7, put the phone into fastboot mode and flash TWRP, boot into TWRP, mount data, copy the 7.0 ROM to the phone, and flash it.

apparently, TWRP says "Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)"
In this case, I would start over by flashing the latest stock ROM, including the userdata.img, and then perform a factory wipe using stock recovery, flash twrp, flash 7.

So should I download the 6.0.1 image for Nexus 5 and then use Nexus Root Toolkit and flash all the .img files individually or should I just launch the batch file inside the 6.0.1 image and let it install automatically?
I would go with the latest stock MM ROM.
I always flash manually but the NRT accomplishes the same thing. Not sure if NRT flashes userdata.img. If the phone hangs at the boot animation and NRT did not flash userdata.img, you should manually flash of userdata.img and factory reset using stock recovery.

Try this first...
First install nexus 5 Driver in you PC
1) put your phone into bootloader mode and connect it to pc.
2) open Nexus Root ToolKit ,select your device as nexus 5 and android build version as android 6.0.1 (MOB31E) and click ''Lunch" under ''Advanced Utilities'''.Now under ''Fastboot Boot'' select ''Custom Recovery'' and then OK.you nexus will automatically booot into TWRP recovery(you don't need to flash twrp recovery before",since it will boot your phone into twrp for temporary when you click ''custom recovery'' option)
3) if your phone boot into Twrp then its ok otherwise you may have not properly installed or missing nexus 5 drivers in your pc.
GUIDE FOR PROPER INSTALLATION OF NEXUS 5 DRIVER(see attached image).
4) Now transfer your (android 7.0+gapps) zip files in your nexus 5.since you can access you internal storage in PC in TWRP mode.
5) Before doing this step..please backup your current ROM because this step will erase everything from your phone except your internal storage.
Now select WIPE> Advance wipe and select Dalvik cache, system, data, cache and leave unchecked ''INTERNAL STORAGE''..Otherwise you will end up wiping you internal storage.
6) After wiping finised,go back to main menu option and select ''INSTALL'' and navigate to your Android 7.0 zip file folder and swipe to install..
7) after successfull installation you may get red error at last but ignore it and select system to boot..
8) if everything goes well then again boot into TWRP as described above and flash gapps and reboot.
9) after your phone starts you may get some apps errors like forced close or stop working or not responding..In this case just go to setting >Apps >just click 3 dots at top right corners and select show system and find that apps if it is a system app or user app and Grant all permission to that app.
10) now root your android 7.0 if you want to use rooted applications. like Adaway
(to block ads),Greenify(to increase battery life and performance),SCR Pro(to record screen),MiXplorer(advance file manager),LMT Launcher(to increase your display size),
CF.lumen(for eye comfort),Link2SD,Tubemate etc
11) But remember Since android 7.0 has been released recently..there are more chances of bugs in ROM,many apps may not compatible with android 7.0...as myself rolled back to android 6.0.1 after using android 7.0 for few days due to some issues with my favourite apps.
IF YOU STILL UNABLE TO FLASH ANDROID 7.0 DUE TO SOME ERRORS...
THEN TRY THIS METHOD...
first download nexus 5 factory image 6.0.1
1) connect your phone to pc in bootloader mode and open nexus root toolkit.
2) now look up for option ''Flash Stock+Unroot'' then hit and press OK.
3) now do as i shown in attached images (load factory image 1 and 2) and wait if it ask to download hatch like thing then allow,it may require internet connection and watch it..
4) process will begin automatically in cmd and reboot into system after completion.
5) now after system boots up to stock rom, just enable ''developer option'' by tapping 3,4 times in ''build number'' under setting >about phone and turn on ''developer option'' and enable ''usb debugging'' option.
6) now keep your phone connected to pc and click ''ROOT'' option in Nexus Root Toolkit.
It may require internet connection to download root files if its already not downloaded and wait till root.
7) after rooting your nexus 5.Again boot your phone into twrp mode (temporarly or else you can flash twrp permanently) using nexus root toolkit and backup your whole system file if you need it to restore at future.
GUIDE FOR FLASHING TWRP PERMANENTLY IN NEXUS 5...
a) download twrp recovery from here... https://twrp.me/devices/lgnexus5.html
and rename it to recovery.img (to replace your stock recovery)
b) now select ''advanced utilities'' in nexus root toolkit and slect ''Browse/other'' under ''Fastboot Boot'' option and click ok and browse your recovery.img(i.e renamed twrp recovery.img)
c) now it will automatically flashes twrp and will replace your stock recovery.
8) now in twrp recovery select wipe >advance wipe> Dalvik cache, system, data, cache and leave unchecked ''INTERNAL STORAGE''..Otherwise you will end up wiping you internal storage.
9) after this follw the same steps mentioned in previous first method...
for sake of more information you can also change your boot animation logo on nexus 5 startup..just by going to system >media>replace (bootanimation.zip) to your desired boot animation but before replacing change your new boot animation to (bootanimation.zip) and set permission as RWRR in properties.

Tutorial to root and flash rom for Alcatel Onetouch Idol 3 5.5 (6045Y) with MM 6.0.1
Benefits
- remove bloatware from Alcatel/TCL
- clean up/speed up the phone
Context
Since MM 6.0.1, fastboot commands are blocked. There are 2 solutions to root and install a new rom for 6045Y. Downgrade to LP 5.0.2 or use a great tool created by DeckerSu with the following tutorial:
Step 1: Prepare the phone
1.0 Backup your phone (photos, contacts...)
1.1.Access the developer mode by clicking 7 times on About Phone
1.2 Enable the 2 following items in Developer options and validate when necessary :
- USB debugging
- OEM unlocking
Step 2: Install TWRP
2.1. Download the adb fastboot package and install it
2.2 Install Alcatel drivers by downloading Mobile_Upgrade_Q. Mobile_Upgrade_Q_5.1.8 is available and that what I used but could not find the link.
2.2 Download Alcatel Flasher from here, install it, launch it as admin
2.3 Download TWRP
2.4 Put your phone in download mode. To do this, connect the powered off phone to PC via USB-cable and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons
2.5 Follow this how to from steps 5 to 10.
2.6 Change the path of recovery to the TWRP file previously downloaded and click Write, then No. Reboot into recovery by holding Volume Up button and pressing Power
2.7 (optional) Wipe cache/dalvik if bootloop
Step 3: Install SU
3.1 download SU zip file (Recovery flashable)
3.2 transfer the file to the phone, reboot the phone into recovery, click install in TWRP, select the SU file, install, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot
Step 4: flash ROM
4.1 download the Resurrection Remix rom from the dedicated XDA thread
4.2 transfer the file to your phone, reboot your phone on recovery, wipe to factory reset in TWRP, click install in TWRP, select the downloaded file, install, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot
Step 5: install Gapps
5.1 download the arm64 7.1 Pico from OpenGApps
5.2 transfer the file to your phone, reboot your phone on recovery, click install in TWRP, select the downloaded file, install it and reboot
Done ! You can now download whatever applications you need via Google Play
Enjoy !

SAFETYNET
If u by accident or any other reason install sandhook framework, u will get safetynet problem. And even if u uninstall it u will still get warning. To solve that u need to remove sandhook traces over (root explorer, or explorer in TWRP). I personaly use Root Browser from play store.
Open root explorer, and go to /data/user_de/0/ search sandhook ( u shoud get 111 folders and im think about 50kb size for delete). remove all and reboot a device. Be aware that some modules can make safetynet problem too.
BOOTLOOP
If u get a bootloop in any part of this tutorial (except TWRP) u can manualy over TWRP recovery mode (VOLUME UP + POWER) manualy delete xposed or magisk modules.
Run TWRP, go to advanced go to file manager, go to /data/adb/modules and remove modules. Then go to data/misc/riru and delete that folder. Reboot and u are ok to try again.
TIP: Every time when u install/upgrade firmware u have a possibility to keep old battery information. So its good to go to TWRP then go to Advance then find RM battery-info and remove it and reboot a device. Personaly i repair battery drain on my mi 10 with this.
I hope this tutorial will help someone. I tried to make it as simple as possible.
Special thanks to meowcat

11. Press again "Check SafetyNet" and it shoud be success.

TWRP
Before installing custom recovery called TWRP u need to unlock bootloader. Be sure that u enable developer options and inside enable USB debugging.
1. Turn OFF your phone (wait few seconds) and then press VOLUME DOWN + POWER till u see fastboot on the screen.
2. Connect phone with PC.
3. Download TWRP image and adb. DOWNLOAD
4. Extract ZIP anywhere.
5. Open cmd window in the same folder where are extracted files.
6.Type fastboot flash recovery TWRP_umi.img
I think there is an important step after this
then type fastboot reboot while click volume up on phone press enter
it's successfully going to twrp recovery and then I instal magisk and succesfully rooted the phone
