Titanium Backup Not Linking Apps to Play Store - General Questions and Answers

I just wanted to ask if titanium backup links the apps to the play store because I haven't seen a single update of my apps in the last week or so when I flashed a custom ROM. Titanium shows smiley with the m which means that market link is present but I'm doubtful that the apps are actually connected to the play store. If anybody knows anything then please guide me. Thanks

[Q] Recover Music App

Hi
Sorry if i have already posted this. I cant find my original post anywhere.
I'm outside the US and wanted to get the new google music app. I backed up my music app using titanium backup and then removed it. I used market enabler and downloaded the new one. The new music app wouldnt open (I assume because i'm outside the US???). I now need to restore my backup but when i choose restore app it just says restoring and never finishes. if i manvigate to the apk and install it it says Application not installed. Is my backup corrupt? What can i do?
Thanks in advance.

Market Link Backup

Hey guys sorry, I googled around and found tons of hits for 'you can back up market links with this'
But I can't find anything that explains what this actually does, whether using Tit Backup or Rom toolbox, do I want to back up the market link as well?
Not sure what you mean by backing up the Market Link. Using Titanium Backup will back up all of your apps and reinstall them (if you choose) so that they can still be updated through the Play Store.
ROM toolbox has several options for app backup. You can backup apps, data, apps and data, and and apps + data + market link. I have no idea what market link means.

Not entirely certain myself, but I suspect it has something to do with being able to link your download to the app's link on the google play store (FKA Market). As opposed to apps that have been installed via sideloading that don't necessarily have a link to the app's page on the market... Again, not sure...just a stab at a guess...
If you click here and read step 7, it hints at what Market Link does: http://www.titaniumtrack.com/kb/titanium-backup-kb/titanium-backup-user-guide.html#backup

Installed apps don't appear in Market

Hi friends.
Like the title says, I have many apps installed in my phone. Some apps were downloaded from the Market, but the others, were installed by the apk file.
These apps (apk) don't appear in My Downloads section in the Market, and I can't update all these. The file manager of Go Launcher detects the updates of these apps, but when I try to update, I can't, because the apps aren't in the Market.
How can I solve it ?
Thank you in advance
Use titanium backup to restore market associations.

I tried with Titanium Backup, but nothing happens.
Download latest titanium backup. Then go to this option
market tools -> market doctor
I installed the latest version of Titanium Backup, and I cracked it with Lucky Patcher for get Titanium Backup Pro.
Then I used the function ''Market Doctor'' and the process worked correctly, but when I go to the Market, the apps aren't there.
do u install non-markets apps for which u need to pay in market and u have not paid??? according to me those types of apps wont be shown in app list of ur play-store. so u will have to update those apps by ur self as non-market apps.
i have never used titanium back up so so i dont know about thing(market doctor) which is mentioned by other members above.

P6210 - Strange issue with Titanium Backup after upgrading to ICS

I have run into a strange issue with Titanium Backup and integrating update system apps into the system rom. Ever since I upgraded my P6210 to ICS and re-rooted it, the Play Store and Titanium Backup seem to be at odds over my updated system apps. Recently both Peel and Google + have been updated through the Play Store. Both of these apps are system apps on my system. After their update, Titanium Backup recognized that they were newer versions and did the proper backup to my SDCard. I then went to the batch listings in Titanium Backup and saw that both apps were listed under "Integrate updates of system apps into ROM" (which they should have been). I ran that batch update and as far as I can tell Titanium Backup properly performed the integration. The apps were no longer listed on the sdcard and Titanium Backup no longer listed any apps that needed to be integrated into the system ROM. The apps also worked without any problems. Here is the strange thing though. I can go back into the Play Store and it once again shows that those two apps need to be updated on my tab. The version numbers between what the Play Store says needs to be updated and what is installed on my tab are identical. If I just do the update but do not perform the integration into the system ROM, the Play Store shows that I have the most recent version installed. Once I do an integration though Titanium Backup, the Play Store will once again tell me I need to update these system apps. This only started happening after the upgrade to ICS. Everything worked perfectly before the upgrade. Has anyone else been experiencing this? Any suggestions or ideas?

It should keep the apps as purchased in the play store.
If not, then use titanium backup to backup data and cache too for the app.

I have no advice, either root or your out of luck.
You're not out of luck bro...titanium backup is obviously a great option but if you don't have root, then Helium Backup is a great alternative which will allow you to backup the app and the app data.
Its free on the play store

Cheers let me know if it works!
