[Q] Factory reset on root with roms

Hey everyone, reset question for you. If i do a factory reset on a rooted/unlocked GS3 with the stock rom, will i 1: be able to keep root, and 2: will the rom backups on clockworkmod still be there?
thank you for any help!
Using CWM Recovery, 1 Yes. A factory reset only deletes data and cache files. Data being your apps and settings. 2) Yes, CWM doesn't automatically format either SDCard.
To answer again in different terms, CWM Recovery factory reset only wipes /sdcard/data and /sdcard/cache. Backups are in /sdcard/clockworkmod and root is a modification in a different directory.(I dunno the name offhand)
Perfect! Thank you so much, this makes a lot of sense. Thanks for including that link as well.

Download stock rom

Hello If i download the latest version rom from asus and install it will I have everything installed the way it came from the factory?
I cant use factory restore now because I did not make a backup before I deleted some programs. will I then be able to do a factory restore from settings then backup and reset menu. and also will I still have root?
thanks
I went ahead and did it and it did reinstall every thing to stock. and you do lose root but I just rerooted.

[Q] factory reset after modifiying system files ?

hi
i iv rooted my Galaxy grand neo gti-9060 with Vroot
i used some (root) tool to delete bloatware apps and i modified the system's resolution,
i wonder, if i do a factory reset from the setting in the phone menu, after all of that, what would happen to the phone
can i do a factory reset without being afraid from bricking my phone
if so, any advices ?
btw i searched, all users asked same question, but am the only one modified the system files i think
bump
@manhab, it won't brick you, but since it only wipes the /data partition, you won't be 100% back to stock.
To really do a full wipe and revert to stock, flash your device's stock ROM in a custom recovery.

Your phone won't be factory reset because some system apps are not there and you don't have stock recovery....

If you have recovery i think you can do a Wipe Data. I guess this is the same as doing a factory reset, but you will keep every change on system level.
