Hello is possible to set Spotify as music app? Same as navigation? If no, maybe I can add Spotify to default apps, so I can set Spotify when I change app with button "mode" or on my wheel?

Click to collapse
I have the same problem. I can launch the "Play Music" app but I still have to touch the play button which is quite a PITA.
Strangely enough I don't remember I had this problem before I rooted my phone. When I asked NFC to task Media -> Play, it played the songs from my Google Play Music app.
I know spotify has an integration with music app, the music app even has a direct link to spotify app. so what does it changue, its the same thing as opening spotify in app drawer so whats the real integration? or service as music app calls it
Hi,
Spotify is the only app for music I use.
I also got a smartwatch (Garmin Vivoactive HR) that can control music in a phone.
However it works with default music player - currently Google Music.
How do I make Spotify default?
You can't. Spotify lacks the ability to play music on a device. You can, however, add music to it via the PC application. Then you sync to your phone, which has to be on the same wifi connection.
All sorted, Garmin Connect alowes to set up default player to control by watch.
I like to listen to music on Spotify while browsing the web or using social media on my galaxy s8, Does anybody know how to play next song or previous song while you are in a different app? I don't even know how to change to next song even when I am on Homescreen, the only method I know is to go inside Spotify and do it from there...
If you're using Spotify just use the notification drop down from the top bar. You'll find music controls there as long as Spotify is running in the background. As for the homescreen, you can add a Spotify widget that shows album art, title and artist name along with the music control.
If you activate the music control lock screen widget, that will give you music controls for Spotify on the lock screen (found in facewidget settings)
Thank you guys, spotify notifications were turned off that was the problem
Hi XDA community,
I have just received a reply to a 'bug report' I submitted.
I queried if the following is normal behaviour on OnePlus devices:
1. Pair phone with Bluetooth headphone/speaker
2. Disable Google Play Music (this is so that I can change the default Music app)
3. Change default Music app (I changed it to Pi Music Player)
4. Open default Music app (Pi Music Player) and play any track
5. Stop track and close the default Music app (Pi Music Player)
6. Open YouTube or any other streaming app and play content
7. Close YouTube
8. Click play/pause button on Bluetooth headphone/speaker
9. This should open your default Music app (Pi Music Player), but it does not.
I received the following reply:
'Good day sir, as we confirmed, this is by default design, In this case, youtube app won't handle any key event if they're in background.
Thanks for your effort and hope you have good day.'
My question is are OnePlus saying that if I use Youtube then the play/pause button on my Bluetooth headphone is disabled on OnePlus devices even though Youtube has been closed, shutdown and not running in the background? If so this sounds to me like default music app setting in OnePlus is not working properly. This is the same even if I restart the phone. The only way to make it work is to open default Music app (Pi Music Player) again and play a track.
On all other devices I use when clicking the play/pause button on my Bluetooth headphone the default music app is automatically started regardless of whether I have previously used Youtube and then closed it.
Any thoughts?
Can someone advise how the 'default music app' setting is supposed to work in OOS? OnePlus have confirmed that it doesn't ensure your Bluetooth headphones to auto start your default music app.
This was the reply:
'Yes sir, it will open the last player app you run and it's current rules. It may not change in a short time.'
Other than selecting 'Auto Play' under 'Earphone mode', is there any way to get round this as it is annoying having to take the phone out of the pocket to open music app.
