My wife's Sprint Galaxy S6 is stuck in a boot up loop
I ordered her a new phone but she has photos and videos of her dad on it who died recently and she's devastated
I've trying all day looking up everything I could but no luck
I'm able to get into factory wipe and restore but pretty sure that's not going to end well
Is there a way to get the data back or fix it without losing it?
Thanks, really appreciate any help with this

So, I'm really sorry if there is an easy answer to this....but I swear I have looked....
I was running CM10.0 on a rooted gs3. I tried to update to 10.1 and the phone lost its mind. I booted it into TWRP and tried to do a factory reset, but that didn't help. Originally the phone would start. But gmail, the play store and most apps all crashed. So I kept messing around in recovery trying to undo the update.
Getting frustrated and confused I apparently wiped my system. I can't start the phone at all. I tried to flash another custom ROM which failed.
What is the easiest way to fix this? Would it be to use ODIN and flash a ROM? The only reason I didn't try this yet is I'm confused about the no OS. I start work as a pediatric intern tomorrow and need to have a working phone. I would normally spend more time trying to figure this out on my own but I'm kind of a nervous wreck at the moment, and need to try and get some sleep before the big day tomorrow.
I really don't care if the phone gets unrooted and back to stock, I just want a working phone...

Well likely you somehow corrupted one of the system partitions.
ODIN back to stock and it should fix everything

You will need to go to a Stock Image via Odin.

Thanks guys, I finally got it working!
I thought that was what I needed to do, but I was so confused when it said I erased the OS...
Now to try and get some sleep before the first day on the job!
Recently I unlocked bootloader, installed twrp and succesfully rooted my device, but while I was tinkering with my device I accidentally wipe all data, partition, etc in TWRP now I guess I wiped out everything including OS !!!
How can I restore ? Do I need to flash new hammerhead image ?
Right now I'm following this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
It'll be great if anyone of you can point me right way.
You can just flash any custom rom using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2575150
Or
Follow the thread you posted to restore a factory image..
But restoring a factory image will unroot your device..
You have twrp so the first thing you did was make a nandroid, right? Live and learn.
Thanks for the help, I just flashed new image. Everything works good except wifi, random drops + slow speed.
I contacted google for replacement and they send me RMA form. Unrooted the phone, bootlocker locked + flag reset.

Before rooting wifi problem was rarely occur now after rooting problem arise more frequently, now even after unrooting wifi is super slow sometimes not even connecting. I hate RMAing but seems like no other way.

Awesome advice. I made a nandroid of my N5 first thing after getting all my apps straight. Playing with flashing a rom in TWRP I did a manual "wipe data" which proceded to wipe out the entire SDCARD in the process including my nandroid. Sooooo.... Yes, make a nandroid but also back it up to your computer or dropbox right away.

Don't RMA it, there's nothing wrong with the hardware. All you have to do is reflash the factory image. If you didn't know what you were doing, you shouldn't have been messing around with your phone in the first place. Reflash your phone back to its factory state and next time do your homework before you start tinkering. People like you are going to cause Google to change their return policy so that returns are much more heavily scrutinized.

You know how to read right ? also I did reflashed to stock image and unrooted + locked bootloader but problem persists, what do you propose I do now ? I started loving my phone now I'm getting new one, it's hard for me too, it's like adopting a son.
Hey everyone,
I just saw my phone said there was an update and with out thinking hit download and install. After a little while my phone turned off and rebooted but went into twrp. And when ever rebooting my phone goes straight into twrp. Im on stock and rooted with just a few things uninstalled. Can anyone help me out with what to do thanks!

Just had this happen to me to lol, spent the last three hours fixing everything and lost all my music because I didnt have a nandroid backup . Anyways just use this guide and revert back to stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. You'll lose root and I think I've also lost recovery but its better than just have a $600 brick.
I was mucking around with Titanium Backup and froze (*not uninstalled) Blinkfeed. Unfortunately, this caused my phone to crash. Now it will not boot. I am able to get it into CWM recovery, but I never made a .zip to recover from and now I just feel stupid. Is there any way to recover this?
Am I able to do a factory reset in order to get the phone working again? (And also, will this remove my root) The data I'm not terribly concerned about. All important pictures have been backed up already and there are no documents that are dire. I just need a working phone.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
I would just put a rom zip onto a microSD and flash that.
Although I wouldn't have thought that freezing BlinkFeed would crash your phone and get it stuck in a bootloop, so what do I know?
Performed a factory reset and that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.
I'm going to look into flashing a rom but that is something I haven't done before and I'm not too comfortable with it.
Do you have any suggestions? I just want to keep the standard stuff (what it was shipped with). I was mainly rooting to get rid of bloatware and have a bit more freedom.
EDIT: Rebooted a second time and the factory reset seems to have taken hold. I'm back at square one but it is far better than nothing.
EDIT2: Not quite back at square one as my backup through Titanium Backup still existed and I was able to utilize that. Lost some contacts, call history, and texts. That's all!
Glad to hear that you were able to fix it. If you ever need a stock Sense rom, I would recommend CleanRom. Watch out though, its really easy to become a flashaholic
i did the same thing : )

Or run the stock s-on ruu which doesn't wipe.
So day before yesterday my dads phone asus zenfone 2 (Z00AD) went into bootloop. it kept booting repeatedly never making it to the home screen. anyway, he took it to asus repair and we got the phone back today. its back to normal but all data is lost. (We had not backed up anything) I downloaded a few android data recovery softwares like mobikin and dr fone but they require the android to be rooted to scan for lost data.
Now my question is, do you think its possible to recover data once the phone has been flashed? I am apprehensive to do the rooting and will only go ahead with it if there is a real chance some lost data may be recovered through such android data recovery softwares.
Please advise. Should I go ahead and root and give it a try?
thank you so much in advance.
You should have backed up before taking it the center(you could have flashed a custom recovery and enable mtp mode and backed up to pc).after a stock ROM is flashed chances of recovery is almost nill.
Just one question, why did you take it down to the shop? It is easy as hell to fix a bricked device. I remember taking down my device to the shop twice and got a new one twice but I managed now to fix it. You will most likely have gotten a replacement for your device. Also, if there is root availible for your device, there are stock rom images to flash via fastboot.
