Not sure if anyone else with Oreo has this issue.
The volume issues (too quiet) of Nougat on the XZP seem to be fixed in the Youtube app, but while I'm watching a video and a notification buzzes in, the volume then drops off completely to about 10% even if I increase the volume to full. To get the volume to come back, I have to touch the video slider to either rewind or fast forward the video and then the volume comes back..
Does anyone else have this issue and can reproduce it?

Before I updated yesterday all was working well. I updated to the latest official rom and now I have 2 problems. 1. The toolbar stays on the screen when watching a movie whereas before I updated it would disappear after a few seconds as it should.
2. The volume is screwed. Again it worked fine before I updated but now the volume stays on high no matter where I set it. When the volume is muted there is no sound but just 1 click up on the volume bar and it's at full blast. Moving it higher stays at the same level.
Any ideas?
I'd try doing a Factory Reset. It's helped clear up a few software quirks I've had.
I seem to recall someone else had this problem and they turned off and on and it worked. Not sure whether they did the 10 second hold.
Yeah the 10-12 second forced power off should fix the volume stuck issue.
That worked. Thanks all for the quick replies.
I think there is some kind of bug when watching videos. Sometimes when I exit out of a video my ringer volume is changed to silent even though I've only touched the volume of the video I'm watching. Anyone have something happen similar?
I know I've had the notification volume turn itself way up for no apparent reason. Usually scares the crap out of me when it goes off.
Ive had BLN-L24 B360 for a little under a week now and have noticed some frustrating issues with regards to the volume levels on this phone. For the most part it seems as though the volume slider that indicates volume level/loudness is just a dummy switch because sound from the phones speaker does not go up or down, it is simply on or off, as in the first step above mute is the same volume as max.
This this is the case with all volume levels through the phones speaker and is extremely frustrating because the sounds are too loud. Whether it is screen lock or unlock, receiving a text or call, or the alarm, I dont need everything being super loud even though I have the volume set low. Im tired of being jolted awake by the alarm that I can't adjust and I cant even watch a video clip without headphones at night because everything is just too damn loud.
With head phones plugged in I notice there is some change in volume with notifications and ringtones but there is just no low volume . Media volume (music) with headphones is the only level that can be adjusted to a low volume but I notice that once the high volume warning dialog pops up around halfway, the volume from there to max stays roughly the same.
Ive seen other people say that low headphone output is a major complaint about this phone but has anyone else experienced loud, unadjustable volume from their phones speaker? It seems to me like a software issue which leads me to believe I'm not the only one. If my description of the issue was confusing, the volume output of the phones speaker is exactly the same in both screenshots.
Edit: While looking through all the audio settings once again it seems that somehow viper4android phone speaker was was turned on and extra loud was turned on unknowingly, which explains why the first step of volume was so loud. However this has since been turned off and still doesn't explain why alarms, ringtones and notifications volume is not really adjustable, the volume is just a bit lower now.
a factory reset could change the behavior.
However, this is not the same behavior many are facing, the problem, in general, is low loud speaker volume and none of the user reported this behavior you mentioned. may be a factory reset can help.
this started from yesterday evening, i'm watching youtube and the volume is annoyingly low, i increase the volume by using the volume rocker on the side of the phone but the volume is still the same, i go into settings and change the volume level from there and it suddenly goes into max volume.
then today after i had set the alarm clock i couldn't hear anything because yet again the volume had suddenly gone down again at this point i have no idea what is causing it, i don't have any bluethooth devices connected to it, no headphones, nothing in the headphone jack so i'm clueless as to what is causing it my phone is not rooted either.
this is frustrating me as i use my phone for a alarm clock and i can't rely on it for now due to this issue, no idea where to start with it.
so the volume is low, i increase the volume with the rocker no effect, i then go into settings and adjust the volume from there it goes back to high volume and then after a while it goes back to low volume again without any input from me.
If your device is rooted, I recommend you try Viper and see how it will help react.
I did say I didn't have root from the start.
anyways I'm thinking it may have a link with the latest update that was pushed, it was the October security update, this is when the problem started so it may have effected it.
How do I get rid of volume limit on galaxy note 10 lite? I tried turning off volume limit and also by turning it on while keeping volume limit to max volume. But none helped. In both cases, I was not able to increase volume past 50%. And this is utterly irritating. Today I downloaded a youtube video on home WiFi so that I can watch it while travelling. But I wasn't able to listen to anything due to high ambient noise during traveling. With volume limit, I can still listen at home, as the noise isnt that much, but today, I realised that I simply cannot listen to anything while traveling due to high noise outside.
Here is the screen recorded video:
In the safe mode, volume limit does not work at all. We can increase the volume regardless whether the volume limit is OFF or ON with low volume limit. Here is the video trying out volume limit in the safe mode:
I am running Android 11 and One UI v 3.1.
Fink the associated apk that isn't running is Safe mode and disable it. Done.
On my 10+/Pie variant it's easy to turn off. The 3 buttons on the right to access that menu... unless it changed.
