I have a rooted my Desire S with 4.1.2 build by nk111.
As soon as I open the apps manager in the settings, I get a package access helper stopped unexpectedly error.
The error comes up 4 times... I can install/uninstall apps without any problems, but it seems like the system can't calculate the used diskspace of apps.
I tried to clear the cache and also fixed permissions, but it doesn't help and I have no idea what else could fix it. Any ideas?

My device: YU Yureka AO5510
Android Version: 5.0.2 CM12
Error Faced: android.process.acore stopped unexpectedly
Description of Error:
this error occurs out of nowhere. Sometimes it occurs when i sign into facebook app and sometimes it just pops up randomly. There is no sure way to get rid of it. i have tried almost everything that i found on internet. which is not so much but its enough to make you go nuts. and finally reset. which i have done almost 90% of time when this error popped up.
i never faced this error on kitkat so i am guessing its related to lollipop.
Stuff that i have tried from internet to get rif of the error
1. clearing data and cache of "contacts" and "contacts storage" and reboot
this method helped just once and never again.
2. clearing data and cache of play store, google play services, google contact sync, and anything related to contacts.
this didn't helped
3. some users reported that its related to facebook apps syncing contacts so its better to remove facebook app. which i did but it still didn't helped
4. in one article user also reported that stopping "calendar storage" and clearing its data also helped them. so i tried that as well. didn't help.
5. i even removed all google accounts and cleared all of the above mentioned apps data but it still didn't helped.
basically i have tried every method that you can find on internet. i have wasted full days trying to solve this issue but at the end of the day i always give up and wipe my device.
this error againg pops up after few days and then i have waste 1 day trying allof the above steps again, then search internet for some new solution and in the end format the device again.
So please help me if anyone has any permanent solution to this problem.
logs attached
I had same problem too. currently i runing CM 12 on Samsung Galaxy Grand duos
Sometime Gmail stoped galerry force closed
process acore force closed
Hm i try using CM12 without gapps & still got process acore force closed
I think bugs came from source CM12.
Need to discuss with some people that are working with cm12 source & who has build cm12 in to the devices
Better you tag some one with best knowledge about this bugs :highfive:
Hi there, this is a banking app that I use and it used to work when i was running Kit Kat, every since I updated to CM12.1 on my nexus 5. I reinstalled this app and it just crashes directly after the introduction.
When i start the app, they prompt me for allowing location access and I have tried both agreeing and disagreeing on clean installs, both times resulted in direct crashes, wondering if any expert would be able to help me on this situation?

Hi
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
I can reach the logging in screen on my Lollipop rom. Try clearing the cache and wiping app data.
Some users reported crashes so the fixes will may come from DBS.
Hello everyone this is my first post here I'm looming to get an answer for a rather annoying problem here. About since a week ago i have been getting this error which says "*app name* can't be installed (Error code : -504)". Now the weird this about this error is that it only comes up on apps which are over 50 mb or which are classified as big apps. Also I'm aware of error 504 which is a gateway error but this is completely another thing because this occurs after the app is done downloading it only shows up while the app is installing. And the weird thing is that the same thing occurs when I try to download the app in apk form too. So any app under 50 mb will install but over that its going to give the same APP NOT INSTALLED error. So far iv troed using an antivirus that detects nothing and clearing cache through clean master and even through a factory reset as well as clearing data and cache of the market and nothing is working please help. My device is the Infinix hot note and I'm running 5.1 LP
today i update my s7 to G930FXXU1DQIL and all seems good but messages app.
default messages app work good (send/receive sms) but when i open 1 message and want to add that on spam message with 3 little line on top right symbol app crash.
i don on/off phone also wipe cach data but still happen. cant master reset or factory reset duo my data an also this is no serious problem at all but any solution anybody have?

You don't need root to update system apps, just toggle secure startup, reboot and install them
ok it seems real bug....i do master factory reset without restoring any data and problem still exist. so this is the real bug of this version.

how??
The issue is present only on BTU/XEU CSC (G930FXXU1DQJ3) ( Did not try others)
Tried PHN (G930FXXU1DQJ1) and ROM (G930FXXU1DQJ3). They are fine.
There is different Samsung Messages version 4.1.31 ( BTU/ROM ) vs Samsung Messages version 4.1.28 ( PHN ). So it should be related to something within CSC not within app version.
I fixed it by installing Samsung Messages 4.2.03.12 Latest version targeting Android 7.0. Newer versions will most likely create more problems.
You can also use Android Messages

Hello,
I'm having trouble installing APK's from APKMIRROR. In various applications of Samsung e.g. Gallery, Browser, TochWiz, Bixby, Calendar, Clock .... I always get the error message "Application not installed. Package is in conflict with another package with the same name".
I do not have root.
What is noticeable is that after an update from Android (also the monthly security patches) or at a factory reset I am able to install all system apps without problems (also the ones mentioned above) or to run an update. But if I restart the phone, it will not be possible to update system apps anymore. It is always the o.g. Error message displayed.
Can someone tell me why this is so or what I can do, so that the update always works?
Resetting the app (uninstall the updates / empty cache, etc.) brings nothing here.
Where is the problem?
Thanks for your help.
Toggle secure startup to on and then reboot your phone. Install the application.
Settings - Lock screen and security - secure startup. Check require password...
If it is already checked, uncheck it and reboot.
Sometimes you also need an wipe cache from recovery. After you install your app you can toggle secure startup to original state and reboot ?

Thanks for suggestion and link for samsung messages, it worked! The messages problem happened to me as well, on S7 edge dual sim G935FD, and italian update G935XXU1DRA2. Trying to understand what was happening I realised that the application did not crash with sms coming from a program (like those for adverts) but it crashed only for sms coming from a phone number either in the contacts or not.
thanks Marina
