z5 oreo - Xperia Z5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am very sad that xperia z3 which is marshmallow is now has lineage os 15. But my favourite smartphone z5 (now also) has nougat and not getting lineage os 15. I am not blaming anyone but i am begging plz built lineage os 15 for xperia z5. plz plz plz.....:crying::crying:

Yes, please be patient.:highfive:

waiting for a long time

It's over
I think support for xperia z5 by deveopers are over . NO movement in our forum for z5 . :crying::crying::crying:
Plz if any support is there remaining build oreo rom . Again I am not ordering I am begging.

There's so much more than just downloading Google's AOSP Rom and modify a bunch of codes.
It will come. Just be patient. They dont get paid for this so. just. chill.
Btw, if they release an early version of the rom, it's likely to have some bugs and people like you will spam the threads so what's the rush for?

k bro

All I do is just wait.. Cause they still stabilizing the hot snapdragon 810 to run their patches.. My phone also z5, but I don't know how to root at android 7.1.1.. I want to force it but I worried if it bricked.. Any suggestions?

2-extract system.ext4 is not available because its signed.
3-we were in a fight till we got worked cwm.
4-lower devices like xperia m ( has been released in august 2014 ) has been updated to 4.3.

NO MediaTek mistake, many device with MT6589 have much development .because of sony lock bootloader !!
look at this:
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][WIP] Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4.2 - kitkat) for Wiko Stairway (mtk6589)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2676086
It have development. But it's impossible to make custom kernel properly.
Sent from my C2105 using Tapatalk
You can make Stock based Custom ROMs but making of Custom Kernel is a problem and that's why we are not getting as many ROMs as other devices are getting
sony just give us a false hope, all of us hope with new update we can unlock bootloader, because in sony web our XC in list that can unlock bootloader, but what we have in update 16.0.B.2.16, we can unlock our phone, NO WE CANT, and this still 4.2.2 not 4.3, and this really disappointing
Sony is to blame not MediaTek, because there is already Kitkat for MT6589 on other devices.
No update
proximity sensor bug during call:crying:
low storage
low volume in speaker and also in headphone

E3 Mentioned nowhere for the update

Well I suppose sony isn't supporting this device.... In the latest news, sony has announced lollipop 5.1 for many devices including M2 by july.... But has not mentioned anything about E3, leaving it out of the picture totally....
Hi @ShanePunk123
About updates the issue Is not just for Xperia E3. Indeed, Xperia T3 and 2015 Xperias like E4 and E4g are not listed for upgrade at this date.
In real terms, Xperia E1 is the less updateable of the remaining 2014 Xperias due to low ram (just 512 Mb). But we dont know. Sony can drop it all 2014/2015 E series and just update T3, or update all the 2014 remainings and 2015 newcomings.
At this moment we can assure or have the good feeling (in terms of hardware) for get lollipop in Xperias E3, E4, E4g and T3 , because they have the required to run lollipop. May be they jump to 5.1 directly overriding or avoiding 5.0.2. Idk that
Currently is an active AOSP 5.1 developer program for the Xperias E3 and T3, so, this is a tiny bit of light in our dark. For AOSP in this models, Camera is not working but other functions are working at least normally as possible, but AOSP is not intended to be a daily usable ROM. And CM guys are working in CM12.1 but theres no stable CM12.1 for us. Instead. 2013 devices and older have an active CM12 development with good stability. Damn DRM and Sony drivers ¬¬
So....Be happy because some 5.0.2 Xperia users are annoyed with the bitter lollipop because of extreme heating, no wifi, no select sound configurations, low battery life and other uncomfortable issues that didnt happen when they were sweet chocolateys. These users are going to jump to 5.1 in July and the jumping is easy for them because they have at least lollipop.
Now, keep in mind that Android M is coming and I have my doubts about reaching M. Maybe lollipop (or kitkat) is going to be the latest and final android version for our E3, other mid rangers and oldest high end Xperias.

I hope that sony will update a device about 10 months and does not adopt policies like HTC who abandons its customers. I hope that Sony will not do so, otherwise, I do not buy a Sony product. We look at other manufacturers like Motorola that are upgrading the Moto X (2013), not only Samsung also updates its products dated, so I hope that the projects we are active on FXP to our devices have a future update.
Maybe it has to do with the internal storage. Remember the Xperiia M4 Aqua 8 GB version? That thing only has about 1.33 free space(1.75 with removed bloatware). Imagine the E3 with just its less than 4 GB... Android 5 uses way too much space. The only one I think still has a chance is T3. I'm pretty sure E4 is already set on the update map.

I installed AOSP and no problem with internal memory, I got a htc desire hd with a memory of 1.5 GB and is now updated to cm12.1 unofficial without having any problem of memory. I'll first make it for d2203. Then port it to our device..
So initially I'll test boot it on d2203 and if it works then port.

@hell_lock about to my previous experince with cm11 of lte varriants i know that for porting it to our devices need to work on kernel/ramdisk and maby we need to work on rom for RIL only. after that only bug,s by fxp will be needed to be fixed.

Android N on Xperia Z3

Hello guys, I am curious will Sony anounce official Android N support for our beloved Z3?
By that time can I use Developer Preview 4.ftf as daily driver? I can handle some glitchs.
Thank you!

Sorry to disappoint you but the Z3 isn't going to be graced with official Android N support. DP4 is as far as we're going to get.
DP4 can be used as a daily driver but there is an issue with the wifi. If you're not connected to wifi you need to disable it or risk a possible random reboot.

Yeah that's what I thought.. Thanks a lot bud!
It's not fixed? Can we get monthly security updates?
Well 7.1 aosp will Come as binaries are already avaible. Wenn just habe still luck. Thing is that official Support Not avaible couse device leaks off the encription that Google forced to 7.0 thats why we dont got it .
Does this mean the only way to get N on Z3 is through AOSP? Can't someone port Android N from another Xperia device?

Port Android N from another device? Qualcomm depracated msm8974 platform long ago so no other msm8974 device will be getting Nougat officially. All the other Xperia devices that will receive Nougat are 64 bit, using 3.10 kernel officially, and are on different platforms which means it won't work. Furthermore, there's also an additional barrier of proprietary libraries.
AOSP is the way to go

Ah that's a shame. That being said I don't know why Sony teased us a developer preview of Android N if we were never going to get it officially. It's like showing some dessert and then saying you can't have it. My Xperia S has alot of support in terms of AOSP, hell there's been a stable build of Nougat for a while. I haven't updated it because I only use it to listen Audiobooks. Seeing as we no longer have official support, I hope this means more AOSP focus.

Qualcomm deprecated the msm8974 platform and Google had those encryption or OpenGL requirements, not sure why everyone blames Sony when no other msm8974 is getting official Nougat..

I will try but it's a hard task because Sony provide only the Kernel sources, not like on flagship devices where you have the device tree and the proprietary tree too. I tried to build CM13 and it's almost done but I will not spend more time on it because I'm alone to solves bugs and Nougat will come soon.

For me it looks like a clickbait, if you look at the server tree of the download link there is nothing related to XA, Sony or MediaTek (or I missed something) and why putting a finished work in a temp folder ??? http://cloud.vache-android.com/Moto/tmp/
And a last clue, if you look at the bottom of the guide in "related" contents, you will find Lineage15 guides for almost all Xperia with Mediatek processor.

No hope then... Developement is so weak on this device
Edit: this "vache" seems to be a developer for Moto phones
We need lineage for Xperia XA
Imight, I have made it for other devices,
Best Option to stand any chance of custom ROM's on our XA
It will take a lot of effort testing and time but if we want this device running Oreo + then these guys are the only real hope. :fingers-crossed:
https://github.com/MediatekAndroidDevelopers/information
A thread with real pledges needs to be started so we can raise enough funds for test devices and to ask for official support. :fingers-crossed:
The coolpad note3 got support but are the Sony Xperia XA users as committed as they are????
You'd have my money for an Oero Rom
I can support with something if we get more develoment for this phone and I want an Oreo rom ofc
Resurrection Remix
buys loads of devices source code from manufactures
and makes newer android versions for many devices, even for unpopular devices,
so its worth talking to them,

Will our device get android p

Just asking because Our device has issues running android oreo will our device get a stable 9.x roms?
How can someone answer this before release of Android P itself??
I don't think

M playing pubg game in oreo rom without any issues.. no lag.. but get ltl heats due to our board issue... Ya there were some lag on oreo before 2-3 months.. but we already solved by removing night light...
Don't know about ur sd card issue ..
For me everything is fine.. downloading 6-7 of rom daily and transfer to sd card without any issye...
Ya there were issues 0mb bug...
And we solved that to... Aex will get next update...
Otherwise u can use other rom....
As if now most of the rom have 0bug. So don't insult our osprey development. Our teams works alot to give u all bugless oreo rom...
So making thread and say oreo have bug then its insulting..
If u have an issye u can post the issues on their respective thread..
Regards Android P, let the android comes out official.. then only any one can say is it work for our device or not...

Android Oreo is stable as ever and have no issues.
Only devices with official/unofficial treble can "talk" about P development (example: MI A1, G5+, oneplus 6, moto Z) since the GSI is out there but has a lot of bugs, other devices will have to wait for P official release and then start developing and fixing issues..
I guess even if we don't get the full android P (remote possibility, if 32bit OS abruptly reaches EOL) then we can atleast get android P go edition. Though it's true that nothing can be said at the moment, I believe we have a group of very talented and experienced developers and they will leave no stone unturned ?
How close did we get to Treble? I know althafvly went above and beyond for a while. But to get 15.1 officially supported by lineageos… i don't know. For me there's no telling how far he got. Here's a link to his sources: https://github.com/MOTO-M8916 Maybe someone with more knowledge on this could shed some light on the progress? If this could get official 15.1 support by lineageos, there's a good chance we can get android P as well.

let me clear some myths regards treble for osprey/merlin
Reason 1: Supported device are 64bit.. so p ported is for 64bit device.. and we dont have 64bit drivers to use boot 64bit roms
Reason 2: As of now Forget GSI for osprey, no enough free partition for osprey. Only 16mb is there. But for treble we need more then 250+ mb.. so not possible...
Reason 3: For treble need atleast oreo base drivers .. in oprey we are using marshmallow and some nougat drivers.. so if anyhow we get treble, still u can't use GSI with full potential... ???
So conclusion is forget GSI.. ?
