How can I upgrade to Oreo and lock my bootloader again? I was on Oreo and unlocked my bootloader but having a few issues on a ROM and should have waited and tested this without a ROM.
Download the factory image for sailfish and flash it. It will wipe your data so save your pics, videos, etc.
Not really wise to relock the bootloader, but, that's your choice

Is there any way to completely reset your Honor 8?
I unlocked bootloader with code from huawei, rooted, twrp etc.
Is there any way to completely restore it to factory default?
I tried unrooting it and locked the bootloader using the tool here on the forum. But the warning is still there when you booted, that its been tampered with and is unsafe etc.
Is there no way to completely factory reset it, like it was when it was new?

If u have L09 u should flash stock recovery and then flash stock full firmware B101 and the bootloader should be locked and warning should be gone.
I guess there is an internal counter that is tripped when bootloader is unlocked. Like Samsung's Knox.
I have L04, after updating manually root was wiped and stock recovery installed but was still getting bootloader warning. I booted into stock "erecovery" by holding volume up while booting. From there i restored stock firmware and when rebooted warning was gone. So I am now stock without unlocked warning on boot, YAY!
I unlocked my bootloader and then installed the B131 full update. Afterwards my bootloader was locked again and i had it to unlock again.
-> If you want to completely reset, install a full update and do a factory reset
@whiper: after the bootloader was locked and you unlock again, did the phone a factory reset?

Yes. The unlocking process was the same after the update as before including factory reset.
I think the B131 update includes all partitions so that the unlock flag is overwritten.
After the update all was normal, no data wipe, but bootloader locked. I had to unlock it again and all data was wiped.
When i do the next update i will try an ota version.
(With my Honor 7 i did a full update which does not lock the bootloader, so i think it depends from the partitions the update contains)
Guys, just to make it clear. I have a L04 model. i am bootloader unlocked, rooted and have TWRP installed. Is it possible to relock and go back to stock, but simply flashing the stock L04 firmware? Does Honor 8 have some inbuilt trip to notify that the bootloader is unlocked?

Yes. Just flash the whole firmware using fastboot.

Hi.
I'm right now on TS CM 13.1 and I want to try the RR. But I didn't unlock the bootloader officially, so I need to do it properly now so I won't end with an locked bootloader.
While I'm waiting for the approval... can I just flash the latest China dev ROM with my current recovery? Or should I flash it from fastboot?
Thank you.
Since you have a custom recovery, try Xiaomi.eu or miGlobe, though be careful as I think latest versions (Android 7) will lock the bootloader. To be safe, I'd flash an older version with Android 5.1 for now.
You can't try RR 5.8.1 based on Android 7.1 as it requires lollipop bootloader.
Or you can flash 6.12.22 and then update to any Nougat Miui Rom available on Xiaomi.eu. This is done via Updater app.

I didn't realise there was a previous RR version with lollipop bootloader.
I already got the SMS with the approval from Xiaomi. I though it would take long. So, if get that right, I should first flash an older Android 5.1.1 Dev ROM and than update it with the Updater app to the latest version with 7.1 . This will lock the bootloader and than I can unlock it officially.
If I do it from from fastboot I can flash directly the latest 7.1 dev ROM, right?
Thank you guys. I always messed around with ROM's with my old GNex, but this Miui stuff confuses me a bit.
No need. Just go in TWRP and see the RR N thread there is a link to nougat blobs. Install that and then install newer TWRP that works with nougat (see android development). I think at this point you'd have to unlock bootloader. Then install room normally
But, as I read in the RR N thread, after I flash those blobs I'll end up with a locked bootloader if I previously unlocked it unofficially. As I did.
And, at least I think, I can only unlock it again from an official ROM. That's why I want to flash Miui.

Whether you have unlocked your device officially or not, it will still lock your bootloader. The key here is if you have the permission to unlock it. If not, then don't proceed. You can officially unlock your bootloader after 5 business days upon receiving the SMS.
Ok. I do have the permission. And can I unlock the bootloader right away with mi flash unlock on a custom ROM or do I need the official miui ROM?
Worked for me with no OS, so I assume you do not need miui.

After you flash the blobs, the bootloader will be locked. Unlock it via Mi Flash. Then flash a Nougat compatible TWRP and you're good to go in flashing Nougat RR.
OEM Unlock is not showing under developer options in the Lineage OS 15.1 firmware. Before flashing the Oreo 8.1.0 (Lineage OS 15.1), I had the stock rom (android 7.0) and OEM Unlock was enabled...
I didnt do the Nandroid backup, so I want to flash back the original official firmware from SamMobile.
Now I want to flash back the stock ROM but I cant find the OEM option. What should I do ? My hardware nis lenovo k33a42 karate

Lineage probably doesn't have the OEM unlock option because it isn't required, it is assumed that if you are using lineage then your bootloader is already unlocked because you can't have TWRP or lineage installed if the bootloader is locked. Besides, the OEM unlock setting is a feature of stock ROMs, not custom ROMs.
If you want to flash the stock firmware, you can just flash it without needing the OEM unlock setting.
As far as I know, Sammobile only provides stock firmware for Samsung devices, you have a Lenovo device, you can't use a Samsung stock firmware, you need the Lenovo stock firmware for your specific model number.
Do a Google search for:
"Return to stock (your model number)"

hello!
sorry for my english...
you have to flash the file "RMM-State_Bypass_Mesa_v2.zip" with twrp or other, rooting your device with magisk for example closes the oem. by flashing this file, your oem will remain open

Either way, the OEM unlock setting shouldn't be needed if you already have LOS installed because the bootloader is already unlocked before you install LOS. Or are you saying that this file needs to be flashed after restoring stock firmware to get that option to show up in the restored stock firmware?

I'm also on LOS 16 on my s7 SM-G930F international version and I cant go back to stock ... trying several version of odin with several stock rom from Sammobile .. everytime after the flash starts it fails after couple of seconds???

You will lose root as far as I know, but you can easily reisntall it via twrp. The bootloader will not be relocked unless you manually do so yourself.
I've been thinking of unlocking the bootloader and changing the rom to Pixel experience. If I eventually decide to revert back to OOS would it be possible to also re-lock the bootloader?
Yes. You can do that via cmd or use the restore tool here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...l-to-restore-your-device-to-oxygenos.4148415/
Be warned, do not try to relock bootloader untill you are full stock because you might brick the phone and be forced to use the tool i linked above ( i did it once )

I re locked the bootloader when I was on Pixel Experience Rom A11 using avb_custom key .img file. It was optional but I still did it successfully. However, I have not tried to lock bootloader on custom ROM since the 12 ROMs came as it is not mentioned anywhere so it might brick the device. If you want to re lock the BL then you'll have to go back to stock OOS. Try using the unbrick or MSM tool for OP Nord (Specific model/region).
